When he started with McClaren Ron Dennis discourage Lewis from going wheel to wheel with Alonso. It was only after 4 or 5 races that they allowed him to race.
It’s interesting watching this now before the start of the 2019 season. It’s been an incredible journey for Lewis and the team! They have both proved all the doubters and negativity wrong. 2019 could be another epic.

I'm really hoping Hamilton will have a successful career at Mercedes. I am massive Lewis fan as well. It does hurt that he is not driving for Mclaren but I hope he can win another WDC title. He does deserve another one with his talents as a driver.

Senna was a great driver in his rookie season too and I wasn't even born to watch him race back then. But I've seen him driving in Monaco in the wet in 1984. In a Toleman-Hart no less. Would have won too if they didn't stop the race halfway due to rain.

To be fair to Lewis, he stuck to his word and did help Mercedes achieve success.

Little did he know that the departure to Mercedes was a very smart decision as McLaren can only keep up with a Prius from 2015-2017 F1 seasons.
Seeing the working atmosphere in the factory to meet the technician and the meet management team.
Safe to say he and the team have brought some serious results since that day.
