Thank you Sr. for this video. I must say it was the one that motivated me to take on this task on my 2008 Toyota Highlander. The alternator replacement took me a little over 4 hours, and the ONLY differences between this video and my experience, were: 1. My alternator did not have the mentioned bracket. 2. The bottom alternator bolt was a b.... to place and screw. Thanks again and get to work; I saved myself 700.00 dollars.
Thanks for the video. I would have taken it to a shop but everyone is booked for two weeks so I decided to do it myself. I'm a airplane mechanic by trade and though I new it would be a pain, I hate working on cars, I took a shot at it. Four hours later I got on TH-cam and found your video. I loosened the fans to get enough room and still could not get it loose, remind me next time to view the whole video. I am quitting for the night and will loosen the last strap and take it out in the late morning. NAPA gave me the wrong Alt so will get the right one tomorrow. Thanks again for your video.
Dude seriously you're the fucking man. I was looking at videos people were like saying it took them 4 hours to get the alternator out I'm over here thinking something else has to be holding his alternator in It shouldn't be this difficult. Thank you so much for your video such a tremendous help thanks a lot man
Good video. Just did my 2011 Toyota Highlander and it's the exact same. I didn't have to take the cooling fans out completely. I just disconnected the top radiator hose and just turned the fans up 90 degrees. It took hours to do this whole job but I got it done. I didn't have the serpentine belt tool so I used a combination wrench with a pipe over it for leverage for the tensioner pulley. The wire harness being in the way was a pain, but if you keep working at it you will get it out.
If i can do it. You can do it. Is not that hard to do it. Just take you time. You can get most of the tools. At harbor freight. If you dont want to spend. Too much money. Any question leave here. I will do my best. To help. 😊
I do this for a living...my method is getting the belt out of the way then get coolant hose out the way, then remove idle pulley underneath the thermostat spout then remove two bolts securing the spout all that will give you all the room you need to get the alternator out and back in easily
I happy that i can make someone save some money with my videos. Thank u. For been here. Any question leave in the comments i will do my best to help 😀😀😀😀
I got the video for the water pump. If you over 120,000 miles I recommend it to replace before start making the grinding noise. 💪👍. th-cam.com/video/hFHDxuk7l_8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_l5mogV5PiryJXMB
