RIP Ron Bushy, passed away from cancer August 29th, 2021 at 79 years old. The original drum solo architect. Remember folks, Led Zeppelin opened for THEM in 1969! Before anyone heard of John Bonham and Bonzo's legendary drum solos, there was Ron Bushy.

Man I'm 20 years old, I was decades away from being born when this song came out, I was just so lucky to have parents who introduced me the the best generation of musicians like Iron Butterfly, Black Sabbath, King Crimson, Iron Maiden, nobody makes music like these guys anymore, they knew how to do it

Goodbye Doug Ingle. One of the greatest rock organist I've ever heard. Be in peace, my friend. 5-24-24😢

RIP Doug Ingle who passed away last Friday (5-24-24). Lead singer and keyboardist of Iron Butterfly. Doug wrote In A Gadda Da Vida. The lineup on this version of the song is the lineup I saw at the first concert I ever attended in my lifetime of seeing the greatest bands in the world ever since I was only 13. Obviously Iron Butterfly had an impact on me and shaped how I hear music. The only member still living is guitarist Mike Pinera and I am told he has been in a hospital fighting for his life quite some time now.

When my brother got home from Viet Nam, he walked up our long horseshoe driveway carrying his army bag. He played this song for months. Miss you Dave❤️

WOW! I’m 74 and this is the first time I saw this live version. It feels like 60 years ago. It never gets old. I’m glad I grew up in the 60s. Would love to have a back again.

At 79 y/o I still remember hearing this song when it was released for the first time.....I couldn't believe the sounds I was hearing in it's arrangement. So different, so strangely compelling at the same time. One of the true classics of the late sixties and early seventies. There was no better time to be a young and witness the great music that came from this era.

Another 68yr old Iron Butterfly fan here just sitting back and letting this phenomenal song wave over me. To play the drums, mostly with your eyes shut, just adds to the respect due to him. Bring back the 60’s.

Classic rock at its finest!! Great song and great video!!

  • @michaelsoto5542

The polyphonic organ solo sounds SOOOOOOO much better with a Hammond & a Leslie! Bravo & well done Mr. Ingle. You were one of my strongest & earliest mentors in music. You are dearly missed. RIP, man. You were so original.
