    What methods do you use to stretch your hair?

    • @fantasticfavour
      @fantasticfavour 6 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      CentricSista I use mostly the threading and braids works well for me.

    • @chemirem.3934
      @chemirem.3934 6 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      CentricSista blow drying. All the time. But now I use the instyler comb. Once my hair has been partially stretched with braids. I just press the comb on top of the hair. I don’t comb it through cuz it can straighten the hair. I press it for like five seconds and move don the strand. It is so fast! I swear. Perfectly stretched hair in to minutes. It’s awesome for emergency hair fixes. And none of the sweating associated with a blow dry.

      Penny McConnell - That's what I do. Even with a satin scarf or bonnet, my 4c hair tangles and knots very easily. This is despite regular trims and daily hydration 😩

    • @awfuljay_9062
      @awfuljay_9062 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Penny McConnell ur hair length is very important in stretching. When my hair was shorter, the humidity would cause it to shrivel up. But as my hair has gotten longer, it stays stretched for a longer amount of time 💓

    Love your channel! The yarn draws moisture out of your hair. It's like wearing a wool hat/scarf. The equivalent to wrapping your hair in a sweater or cotton fabric. They sell plastic threads that you can use for stretching without the moisture loss and stiffness that yarn and cotton threads will create. You can also sit under the dryer to speed drying time with no issue.

    It’s dry when you use the thread method because you aren’t using the right thread. Yarn is like a cotton pillowcase it’s gonna suck all the ,moisture out your hair.

    • @CentricSistaJY
      @CentricSistaJY  6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Journee2GodI understand but I've tried threading with braiding thread and the thread used for sew-ins and I still get the same results each time so the yarn doesn't make a difference. I've also done yarn twists twice before and it did not dry out my hair.

    Love your channel! Finally a true 4c person! I'm so sick of mixed TH-cam clamming 4c .

    Your skin is just gorgeous. The glow across your cheekbones is unreal, and then when you turned around, your back and shoulders looked airbrushed. You're like ASMR for the eyes. Thank you for sharing.

    I never knew mousse could be used on natural hair. Thank you! I like the last method best. Also, you can try using sewing thread instead of yarn. Just double or triple the thread. The hair won't take as long to dry, and it wouldn't feel stiff afterwards 😊

    Genius idea to use yarn...I don't have yarn but I have some "stretchy hair" that I'll use for that purpose. Thank you much. By the way, you are stunning.

    Don't y'all find it awesome how nicely done natural kinky styles look good on every black woman, regardless of skin tone or facial features, but not all silky straight styles do? And God saw what He created and it was good!
