I fell out and now I'm back. I can tell you from living it - it's totally okay. Doesn't make you less of a fan. Doesn't make you love them any less. Just means your brain needs to focus on other things for a while and that's perfectly alright.
same I just recently caught up with this other fandom I was part of (never been super obsessed tho, only to the point of a daily fan account) and I am really worried the same thing will happen with 1D but I try to not get too fixated on it and also listen to some other music to not get too bored too quickly (don't think that works too well tho). And it felt really natural going back to the songs of that other artist, so don't worry about that if you were to fall out

Edit: I relate to the hyper fixation thing because I would be obsessed with things for a week or two then forget about it, but it’s been a few years now so I think we’re good, although there was a period of time where I fell out of my obsession, and I’m mad at my 5 year old self for that. I quickly found my way back though

My confession because I wasn't able to enter mine into the video... When I first heard of One Direction I thought they were some stupid boyband that girls were obsessed with. I heard of them through my next door neighbor/ friend and she had over 10 posters of 1D in her room so I was like "gosh you're so obsessed with this stupid boyband, they're probably immature and not that cute". Eventually she had to move to another state... then I became a Directioner!!!! Without her! And I will never have the chance to fangirl with her :*( REGRETS. I wonder if she's still a Directioner.. I hope she knows she helped change my life.

Me and my parents were driving home from a holiday (within the UK) and they skipped all the spice girls and take that songs and things like that (they love those bands) but whenever 1D came on they legit listened to every song that I put on the playlist😭😭my dad legit did the no control dance bc he loved 1Ds carpool karaoke. My holiday was incredible but that car journey on the way back was the highlight of the entire week😂😂

I was a giant 1d fan when i got introduced to them in 2011 - 2013 for some reason some how escaped the fandom hole mid 2013 and from 2014 - 2017 i played this whole charade of hating 1d whenever someone asked me or brought them up and i think purposely didnt search them up and avoided them because i knew deep down that as soon as i watched 1 video of them id get sucked into the hole again.....annnnddd mid 2018 thats exactly wat happened i cant believe i ever left :) but I'm here to stay

I'm usually like that as well, but I've been obsessed with One Direction since March (Thank you Quarantine for making me a fan of 1D) and I don't thing that I will ever stop being a fan. Usually my 'obsession' will fade out in like a month or two. :) Everything will be alright and if you do, you'll always find your way back.

Same, I have periods where I'm hyperfixated, and periods where I love them, but am not as fixated. I just try not to wear myself out with them, so it's whatever I'm feeling. But I will not stop being a Directioner because they have great music and are so funny and cute.

My confession don’t cancel me: when ZAYN left the band I was 8 so I didn’t understand why he left obviously now I realise it was the best decision and I was so mad. I got all pictures and posters of the boys and either ripped ZAYN out of the picture or scribbled him out. I got my dolls of the boys and threw ZAYN in the bin and I literally got rid of everything of him. Oh I also got my mum to buy me stuff of all of the boys except him coz I was so mad. my 1d confession: sometimes, i feel really really bad, that I'll never like the other boys as much as I like zayn, like I know every zayn lyric, and can't even remember all of liams solo songs, I feel like a bad stan, because I'm honestly more of a zquad than I ever will be a directioner, and I hate myself for it. That's okay. You can like the other boys, but have a favorite. I love his music and he is so cute, so I understand why. You don't have to be a stan of other boys, you can casually keep up and still love them.

i fell off of them too. i was a fan from 2011 when i was 4 to 2016 when i was 9 or 10. then people bullied me for liking them still. i still listened to their solo songs, but i ignored 1d. but late 2019, i came back. you can find your way back and it’ll all work out in the end :)
plus, i’ve made a family here! and i’m so happy i did :)

I had small periods of watching one direction in the past five years and I loved their solo music when it was on the radio or TV but other than that I kinda forgot about them until a few months before their anniversary when I started watching them a bit more and then as soon as July 23rd hit, I was watching and listening to them literally all day and that hasn't stopped yet

I kind of think that the reason that the one direction is predometley part of the lgbtq+ community because the boys are so kind and suppotive about it and it makes people happy to see that thier idols will still love them and accept them so it makes it easier for people x
Idk if you’ll see this jas but thank you so much, you’re the reason I fell back in love with one direction. I loved them growing up and when they went on hiatus I was able to move on since I had no phone. I started to fall back in love when promo for Niall and Harry’s new albums came out, I began getting recommendations for 1D then your dark side of 1D vid came out and it made me appreciate them and realize that I really do love them and they mean so much to me. My sister is a directioner too and would tell me about 1D stuff like the adventurous adventures, carpool karaoke, MV’s, etc. but she eventually stopped updating me. So thank you for helping me realize how much they mean to me.

I joined the fandom late. I was 10 in 2015 and my best friend/ neighbour showed me one of their music videos and half the time I was staring at Harry and saying how cute he is and his long hair I didn’t know there names. I didn’t have a phone but then I got an iPad and started watching listening to there music videos and songs. After a while they split and i was devastated. I wanted to stop staning them bc it hurt but now I’m staning all of them again I can’t go to any of there concerts because my parents are strict and would never let me also I made my parents hate them with a passion especially Harry bc I would not shut up when it came to them. Now I’m always listening to them day and night wishing they would get back together even for like 10 minute. I do love there solo careers so it’s hard to chose when someone asks u to chose if u want solo or band. I never wanted to tell anyone about this bc I always thought I would be hated for becoming a Stan at such a late time but your videos make me feel like I’m welcomed and happy to be a Stan of ONE DIRECTION.
