Can you fourth a thing, hell i'm from the s70'80's ,of course I fourth it , we could do anything in the 70/80's, which makes it real 8) .......................
The late great Sylvester was a true legend disco icon, one of the best disco songs ever written at that time ,All of Sylvester's music had it's own sound ,there will never be another like Sylvester, RIP ❤always
I remember this song in a Fashion Parade 1978. Now Is an Icon Disco Music. This Edition Is the Best Ever I have heared. Thank you FOR Music. I live in LAWatts where Sylvester was born.
At 5:52 mark and deep inside my groove, this classic masterpiece was BRUTALLY interrupted by a TH-cam ad!!!!! ARGH!!!! Still....I will resume my happy dance....💃
The White Party was never the same after his performance on Holy Saturday night before Easter in 1978! SF's legendary Trocadero Transfer would make the perfect setting our fan family was there!
Amen, my brother. Ten years after Stonewall, we still needed music to fuel a life of joy despite the disapproval of what was then called the Moral Majority. This was one of those songs that helped me keep on. And your remix does it justice. And the research you do for each song feeds my mind just as the song feeds my heart. I am so grateful for your work - and never more so than in this case.
Perfect opening for Church of the Disco Heat, and those of us present could but testify as the music and words took us over, never stopping to look back as uplifting gospel music met propulsive electronic synth, the combination propelled us skyward to heights we had never been. Though when it was over we knew we had been in the enthralling embrace of Sylvester. DJDCV2, your uncanny ability to present a remix that serves the artist continues to stir memories while making new ones in shared conversations with others. While Sylvester's vocal intensity could never be denied nor duplicated, your mix giving his vocals spacial air to reveal it on an intimate almost "come closer, I need to tell you something" level that while still present in the disco mixes, got challenged and met, instead in the intensity of the rest of instrumentation as if ferocity could only be represented as something loud. This mix shows Sylvester knew well the power of his voice above a whisper however below conversation level. Thank you for this timely release, the Castro in San Francisco, this PRIDE 2019, continues to miss the original voice and presence of the original Sylvester.
Hermosa versión de Sylvester,su exelente voz que cautivó nuestros corazones. Dejo un legado de hermosas canciones que viva los 70,80y90s. Atte Guillermo Sánchez Gómez desde Cali Colombia Suramérica.
Sylvester what can.I say. A right inspiration of music to the body and soul... Never heard music so inspirational spiritual and energetic all in one... Till this day this song never grows old . Rest in peace and let the music play on .Amen!
From David A.Wood: Although I am not a member of the deservedly appreciated LGBTQ+ Community, I must proudly say that I really love the signature song by the late Recording Artist/Gay Icon Sylvester anyway. Sylvester's signature song, "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" was/is an emotionally soaring and sonically seductive song of Authentic Love, Spiritual/Sexual Pleasure, and Urbanized Style that I could not get enough of hearing back in 1978, and I still very much like hearing it! I gladly remember hearing "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" by Sylvester from back in the Summer of 1978 when I was an intellectually imaginative,14-years-old teenager on my way to becoming a High School Freshman. It still is one of my top "Fantasy Soundtrack Songs." I must say that it was a pity that the song initially did not receive much airplay on WDAO, which was Dayton's premier R&B Radio Station, as the gloriously performed song just kind of came and went during the Summer of 1978. It was also a pity that the dreaded illness of AIDS lethally took Sylvester away from us back in the late 1980s. As such, I am glad to be hearing and seeing Sylvester's legendary song finally get the notice it truly deserves as it is occasionally played on TH-cam. Thank you very much, TH-cam. Thank you very much too, Sylvester and, assuming such a honored place truly exists, I sincerely hope that you are spiritually thriving in the Afterlife. RIP, Sylvester! Peace Out from Kettering, Ohio. ☮️🇺🇸👍
Play some of the ads because I do believe that DJ Disco Cat gets paid for it, and that’s worth it because he/she brought us these amazing funky tunes !! 🕺🏽💃🏽
My, my, my - PapaCat has done it again! I’ve always loved this song, but I absolutely love how you used the reprise to begin the song and you took us to church with Izora and Martha’s groans and moans, then you dropped that beat in just like a professional! You definitely should deserve a Grammy for your mix of the competing “Queen of Disco”, haha! Now I’m waiting on you to do the B side of this Fantasy single - “Dance (Disco Heat)” - so you can take me to church again with the Two Tons o’ Fun/Weather Girls! I mean...if Sylvester hadn’t taken Martha Wash and Izora Rhodes-Armstrong along with him, I have no clue where he would have been! All three of them take you to what I call a church deep in the country, on the other side of a creek, and you aren’t even in a church, haha! The genius of the Fantasy team of James [Jim] “Tip” Wirrick, Sylvester, and Patrick Cowley are definitely something. I can easily compare them to the Summer, Moroder, and Bellotte Casablanca team, although I can’t say which group of singer-songwriters is better without being partial to my girl, the Queen, Ms. Donna Summer. You’ve done it again…but when do you not, hehe?! 😋😂
Just a freaking MONSTER hit! (Sylvester, Grace Jones, MPG, The Queen of Soul) all knew...if you can get down in church and move the crowd, you can do it anywhere!
I’m still amazed at how you can take a song I treasure and completely surprise me with it. You continually make me fall back in love with songs all over again.
Magnífica versão . Essa arrebentava nos bailes na era Disco. Impossível permanecer parado. Uma explosão de alegria para os frequentadores . Bons tempos !!,
Choro de alegria porque SEI QUE ESSA É A MELHOR CANÇÃO DA DISCOTHEQUE .NÃO TEM OUTRA É DEMAIS CHORO DE ALEGRIA SÓ DE LEMBRAR O QUANTO DANCEI ESSA CANÇÃO NAS PISTAS !!!
For the first time I noticed that big gospel influence. Dancing to parts of it felt like when I used to watch the old folks go off in the church when I was a child.
This song came out when I was in 7th grade. I remember seeing him on Soul Train back then and being slightly confused lol. Great song, brings back lots of memories
We rocked this at 18 Cortelyou Road, Brooklyn New York at Walter Mayo's resident. This was for the at the annual Walter/Mayo/Cornell Halloween Bash. We danced all night long.
One of my absolute favorite tracks to dance to, back in the day, sung by a TRUE ARTIST - SYLVESTER!💃 THANK You DJDiscoCat, for lovingly and purrfectly remixing and extending this GEM!
DJDiscoCat, thank you for remixing this classic Sylvester tune! I have loved this song since first hearing it at 13-years-old. Also, thank you for your wonderful write-up about the song, I love how you have so much background information on, not only this song, but others in which the Purrfection magic appears!
You have no idea how happy I am to see this song done in the Purrfection-extended style. Funny enough I was looking to see if you had this a week ago! This works.
Given the present-day homogeneity of pop music, some folks might be incredulous if they found out that this was released on the same record label as Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Dead right … the 70s was so eclectic status quo following Donna summers on top of the pops, nobody laughing at captain sensible 😂 proper music to fill clubs that people met and communicated at
wow you did it again!!! this is my favorite song of all time, and i never thought the original could be improved, but you are blowing it out of the water!! Well done!!
Whew!!! This song,(Version) just makes me throw on my skates, and go roaring down the Great Highway!! Ha-Ha, Thank You for posting this on TH-cam. Great extended mix!!
Love your edit. Thank you for the paid respect. The track can be updated but you took it so sweetly to another dimension. Not fan of a gospel intro.. but again, LOVE the full track.
I so appreciate your work!! 💕 also want recognize you for the detailed description you added. Awesome .
Absolutely!! I second that! Thank you! 💖🧡💛💚💙💜
Gotta third that!! Thank you so much.

I hope there is a universe parallel where disco is still number 1 in clubs
Amen to that! This music is timeless and it brings back great memories of when San Francisco was truly alive and prosperous and fun.
It is! Come to new yorks Retro Club! Us youth realize this music is literally timeless!

A masterpiece from DJDiscoCat. This song is the highest, purest form of disco on the planet and this arrangement takes it to a new level. Wow.
Yes before Boy George of Culture Club. And before it became acceptable and not a career ending suicide!!! There was Slyvester!👍🏻🎼🎼 A terrific vioce!
I Love Them both!!! I love them both!!!Wow!!!!!!
David Bowie!! Sqeeky Statdust!!!
Yeah, Bowie was before Sylvester.
