Speaking of combiners: I'm new to collecting Transformers and would love to get the Menasor combiner. I see BBTS has the gift set up for pre order but that version has the toy accurate paint job and not the animation accurate paint job. Do you think Hasbro will ever re-release the individuals for Menasor in that first color scheme (such as Menasor's upper torso and thighs being all black instead of grey)? Not really....CW Devy had many people fooled, it should have been scaled to the same size as other CW combiners, but the Takara MP engineers designed it as a one off love letter to 30th anniversary of the release of the G1 Constructicons, that is the only reason Devy was made that size. But setting all that aside, these guys look cheap...did you see Scrapper fold out hands? That's unacceptable for a voyager. I understand Hasbro is working to pull in a major profit, but if they are going to rip us off you might as well charge us a little more and at least make a better overall figure since it is adult - collectors with full time jobs that are buying these things anyway. It's just disappointing to see such an iconic figure getting such a underwhelming release especially after Studio 86 Optimus. I'm getting to the point to where I would like to see Hasbro just start outsourcing these projects to some 3rd party companies since there are some that are producing much better products.
2:02 this move by hasbro pisses me off because I doesn’t give collectors enough time to buy at their own pace. And what if someone wants to buy a figure but doesn’t have enough money at the moment then after when the figure isn’t available they finally get money. You not having money is not Hasbro's problem let's be realistic here. They have a schedule to keep and budgets to follow. They gave us the outline basically saying no more reissues so you just have to find a way to get them.
Very hollow arms and the plastic looks like they are trying to take a cue from Magic Squares nylon/plastic but worse. Why is anyone buying this? Don’t worry we’re not . I’d be interesting with paint, fill in the hollow, add some die cast to feet and ports, use decent plastic then I will start to buy Hasbro again until then who’s Hasbro, I’ve never heard of them?
So disappointing about Devastator! Just the Combiner Wars bots shrunk down and slightly remodeled-and still with a shrunken head Devastator! What happened? By the way another transformer that should be the size of devastator which they made oversized is Omega supreme Omega supreme being one of the guardian robots he was not the size as one of the cities for example Metroplex or trypticon or fortress maximus or scorponok those four should be the biggest Omega supreme again should be the size of devastated Minnesota superion defense or brudicus and predaking Omega supreme is not a Titan he is more in the line if they made it correctly I would guess commander series the way they do it now again I'm going by G1 standards not by the way they make up now but the way they made them then thank you
Exactly. While I like him being a Titan Class it seems that he shouldn't be. But when they did Devy that size I guess collectors rejoiced because they could recreate a really terrible battle between them. I was never impressed with that scene either.
What are “waves”? I admit I was having a hard time whether to pay for premier membership or not but buying through Hasbro Pulse is just so much easier and consistent compared to all the other places. I’m still waiting for Rumble and Frenzie from one place and it keep getting pushed back. I’ve been waiting for Devastator for a while so they got me!
It easy every other place man stop it. Just give Hasbro money for nothing.
1:30 how would this be possible though? How could u guarantee something like this?
I said the same thing...remember this in case hey come up short.
@@superroboted oh okay bet
Hmmmm.... they are some difference from kubain "devastator"?
In a way I'm happy Dev is going to scale with Menasor but in another the scale is way off next to Omega supreme but since I already have the CW reissue, I have no problem. I can display both. I will say the 86 Dev looks to be more stable and better articulated. Now if they could provide some special effects.
I think there is room for both, You can use CW Devy to scale with Omega Supreme, and use the Studio Series one to go with the other combiners.
I know Breakdown is impossible to find, and that he is getting a G2 release soon. So I don't know if that means the mold is still in rotation and eventually we will get the whole set re released one day or do you think this Menasor gift set on BBTS will be my last/only chance to get a Menasor? (Also the gift set is $280 which seems confusingly high)
I highly doubt they will re-run original color Breakdown and the others, there was supposed to be a re-run last year, that never happened either
I say put yourself down for the pre-order
I got a complete Menasor set on Ebay about a month ago for under $200. Retail on all 5 was $190 separate. I felt I got a good price. If you want the animation colors, I'd say if you can find him complete for $200 or less you should keep an eye out.
I'm Definitely Getting SS86 Constructicons Including SS D.O.T.M Deluxe Class Que A.K.A Wheeljack, SS BBM Deluxe Class Bumblebee (2.0) SS A.O.E/T.L.K Leader Class Optimus Prime, SS D.O.T.M Deluxe Class Hatchet, SS W.F.C Voyager Class Ironhide, SS R.O.T.B Leader Class Apelinq, SS W.F.C Voyager Class Skywarp, SS R.O.T.B Deluxe Class Doublepunch, SS W.F.C Voyager Class Thundercracker, SS A.O.E Concept Art Deluxe Class Widowmaker, SS86 Commander Class Optimus Prime, SS86 Leader Class Megatron, SS86 Leader Class Galvatron, SS86 Commander Class Ultra Magnus, Legacy Sunticons, Primes Trilogy The Thirteen Primes, Age Of The Primes Aerialbots, Prime Trilogy Combaticons, Legacy Trilogy and Age Of Primes Insecticons and Insecticons Deluxe, and Also All G1 and Live Action (Bayverse Movies and The Reboot) Autobots and Decepticons Members and Characters From Generations Toylines Including All Beast Wars, Beast Wars II, and Beast Wars Neo Maximals and Predacons Members and Characters and Also G1 ffide Of Every Autobots and Decepticons Isn't From G1 But They're Original Characters In Different Universe.
Can’t wait to get these
Same here!!!!
His head needs to be bigger. Otherwise, pretty good Chug devastator
I have to go to school tomorrow and take four test and I haft to get finish by 12:00 I think I can do this
LOVE IT! Will order 2 of each (one set for Combiner mode, other set for robot or alt mode); maybe 3 sets is optimal 😜
Even though I just started collecting an year ago, I was lucky to find UW Devy in Tokyo back in July. Actually found 2 brand new in box sets. Initially, wasn’t sure if I should get CW or UW Devy. But after numerous comparisons on YT, went with UW version since it was easier for me to acquire it here in Asia. Took up a third of my luggage space but well worth it!
UW is also know as the "luxurious" version because it comes with what the OG G1 boxset came with and the UW version have more articulation, two versions of the Devy head...and painted rims!!!
@@superroboted Ed, thanks for the extra info! I guess no reason for me to get CW version then.

They don't look far off the downscaled Combiner Wars KOs. A bit disapointing really
I hope this doesn't risk future combiners
Looks fine to me....
@@superroboted I'm coming around a bit now seeing more of the smaller changes and hopefully good solid plastic too. Hopefully they manage to do something good with the combiner parts too
did anyone notice that Scrapper's box says 1/5 but Bonecrusher's box says 2/6?
The Studio Series boxes are full of errors, like BBM Bumblebee box first had 117, but her is really 116.
Say hello to Rhinox from studio series. Instructions says that he is in Revenge of the Fallen
Looks good, steep pricing and i don’t want to try to complete this at aftermarket prices though. I wasn’t expecting the double commander hit to the pocket for voyager class figs. Pretty greedy shit.
Well tbh, it's fair. The original release of the G1 Constructicons each of them came with the "help me parts" to form Devastator.
So:
2 Deluxes = $52
2 Voyagers = $72
1 Commander (2 Figures plus Parts) = $90
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Total Cost $214.* So yeah this is what we pay now. back when Green giant released it was $299. So yeah I'm no crying about price. We been down this road already.
@@superroboted that’s actually not as bad as I thought, when i saw the graphic of the prices, I thought it was $89 x 2 ($89 for each shown). Im fine with $214, my mistake. Much easier to swallow than $300
@@posterbag But if you factor in the cost of shipping and handling that can make it maybe an extra $5-$20 per wave (depending on where you order from) making it somewhere around $230-$275 when it’s all been purchased.
Going to wait till these hit ollies. Been burnt to many times on transformers and the bad plastic.
These will not show up at Ollies...I wouldn't take that chance if I were you.
I hope we get drill arms. That'd be awesome
I hope so too....
That HAS to be part of the extra accessories. If NOT, DNA will for sure to capitalize.
As a msrp this will be 210 plus taxes. How did past devastators retail?
I think I paid $120 for the Combiner Wars one at TRU
@@thomashenry3014 damn that’s a big difference in price
And for those of you who order online there’s still the shipping and handling charges that can drive up the price an additional $5-$20 per wave (depending on where you order them from) thus making it closer to $230-$275 once all of your orders have been purchased.
I will go broke for this one. I actually decided I will have to make the tough decision to abandon romulus ex preorder. I remember I only managed to collect 2 of the G2 of this back when I was a kid from KB toys. I didn't even realise G1 was green back then! All hand on deck!
thank god I am an MP guy
I’m not super bothered by commander for two voyagers because I loved Rodimus and I’m still trying to get 86 Optimus and they were both one voyager and a “box”. Plus he already looks way better than menasor and I really like menasor as wonky as he is.
I'm ready to get this!!!
Am I wrong that I want the green that vibrant?
Not at all!!!
Will bad toy store release these or just Hasbro pulse?
I believe you can preorder at other places, which would be best for all!!!
They're not advertised as exclusives so they'll show up at other retailers
I mean, we’ve been knew they weren’t gonna be Titan. If you’re lookin for Titan Devastator, there’s the combiner wars one.
Most collectors believe otherwise....I called that it would NOT be a titan combiner
As Dev, its not in scale compared to figures like 86 Optimus or the Dinobots. They showed that. As individuals, they beat the CWs in that department (scale). As Dev....nope. So its a pick your poison situation.
Thats my thoughts. Good vid Ed.
Not really....CW Devy had many people fooled, it should have been scaled to the same size as other CW combiners, but the Takara MP engineers designed it as a one off love letter to 30th anniversary of the release of the G1 Constructicons, that is the only reason Devy was made that size. I'll post a picture of UW Scrapper and Hook next to CHUG Prime and you'll see what I mean. I called it right that they would scale Devy to match the current combiners.
Im going to get this guy but im happy with my Unite warriors devastator . This version looks good i think they nailed this i love how bulky he is hopefully this devastators is more stable and posable because Unite warriors sucks in thst department.
They stated they wanted him stable enough to have him holding sludge. He looks rock solid to me.
I still want UW Devy back....I miss him.
@@nathangerardy2669 he doesn't look big enough to hold sludge . Hmmm then again I do have my dinobots in bot mode . I'm going to transform them into dino mode and see how they look with my unite warriors devastator .
You said the green will change, THANK YOU LORD!, I absolutely hate the green of the CW. Hauler's green is perfect, the second I saw him I said how amazing a Devastator would be in that color. Fingers still crossed!
They said these are not final products and color may change so...maybe a different green...I doubt it, but that is what Hasbro said.
Must get
G2 colors when?
No G@2 colors at this time. They wee referring to the samples they had may not be the final color of green that's all.
@@superroboted ik just making a joke
You know it will come eventually though. :)
He looks beautiful.
Yes indeed!!!
Window packaging is back!
I am sooo glad it is back!!!!
It looks like a 😊 Legends scale devastator lol when will Hasbro treat us right
Hasbro gready again with the pricess half of the fans need pay scalpper pricess to get them
Ion know what you are talking about about....
I like how cool they look, but I don't like the robot modes of Scrapper and Bonecrusher, much prefer Magic Square Toys.
Geez, bro talking so fast I had to use captions for the first time ever. 😅
I'll slow down next time...I had guests coming over😂
Nate Dawg and Evan G Regulate
Regulators!!! Mount up!!!
I feel like we're getting another half baked figure in Devastator. Is it me or are these voyagers looking more and more like deluxe figures with every new wave?
So much hollowness and ball joint elbows on Voyager? Meh
What were they THINKING when designing Bonecrusher? He looks like absolute shit
Basically CW but smaller.............
Nope....CW did not require help me parts to form Devastator. This one will be more like the G1 version which had extra parts to from Devastator.
2:02 this move by hasbro pisses me off because I doesn’t give collectors enough time to buy at their own pace. And what if someone wants to buy a figure but doesn’t have enough money at the moment then after when the figure isn’t available they finally get money. But overall excited for the figures but the moves by hasbro are annoying.
Did he run across the monster in Beetlejuice that shrinks heads! This Devastator looks like the previous, ridiculous with a tiny noggin! Combiner body with Voyager size head!
This isn't a shrunk down CW Devy stop it lol!!!
@@superroboted Haha! Yeah right! Put CW Dev next to this new thing and then say that! Either way, both are still suffering from shrunken head syndrome!
I may still get it, but with what I’ve seen, it doesn’t look all that different and I was hoping after over a decade, they might’ve come up with some new design/engineering tricks to fix (not repeat) the shortcomings of CW Dev.
His legs are too short imo
really
REALLY
you could not do this at comic con hasbro? 3 EFFIN TOYS
AND IT IS ONLY FOR PRIEMUM MEMBER
why you treat us like dirt hasbro?
You can't convince the average consumer that Premium is bad because of fear they may not get the toys.
@@superroboted NO NO

So this is just a downsized CW devastator?
No.
I had high hopes for these, kinda disappointed.
Scavenger and Bonecrusher both have janky arms. Those arms are disappointing
They seem too streamlined, but better than trying to stick Green Giant on the shelf.
Maybe it's for the best that this Devastator isn't a Titan class figure cuz last time we had a Titan class Devastator he didn't scale with the other combiners
That's exactly it...many people don't understand that tho'..
