In regards to the vehicle tank treads being behind the chest wing, that's how it looked in the cartoon. It's just that in the cartoon the animators coloured the treads purple in devastator mode. Hook has purple legs/treads in the cartoon, so that makes sense, but Scrapper has green treads/legs, so the animators just chose to make it symmetrical for the cartoon. Otherwise, I think SS86 Devastator looks the part. The treads are where they're supposed to be.
My condolences. I really believe we should adopt more of Japanese Kintsugi Philosophy in regards to toy collecting. Sometimes it's not about the toy itself, but what it represent as a bond between people, history you've been through or symbol of how well someone knew you to make such gift.
I think that you are right I work in construction and construction equipment is very big some of them are bigger than a semi truck so I agree the scale is very off
Can just chalk the scaling up to standard G1 scaling issues, especially in the movie. Unicron comfortably holds Galvatron in his hand before eating him then 3 minutes later a whole ship flies through his eye with tons of spare room? It actually makes it MORE authentic lol
Devastator wasn't really as big as you think. You could argue he was slightly bigger than the SS86, but not by much. If you watch the 86 movie the Dinobots are fairly large in comparison to Devastator.
Bonecrusher seems to have been a victim of cost cutting, having either limited or non-existent waist swivel and ball jointed elbows. The excuse scrapper has to have a voyager price point also falls flat because of his need for a ratchet joint when he is in combined form; all of the combiner wars deluxe figures had ratchet joints at no additional cost. I'm sure the overall team will look cool, but i fail to see why it will cost 20 dollars more than the stunticons.
I think the look of ss86 is better. Kinda wish the legs were a little longer (probable add on kit like menasor) and the head bigger or further up front. Also wish the chest plate was a little higher. As far as scale, seems to match the movie, not the Sunbow chart. I like that it will scale with menasor and most likely the upcoming Superion and Bruticus
HASBRO should have stuck with the Voyager size figures to make the 18” inch combiner like in CW, and I don’t care who disagrees. They’re giant construction vehicles and DEVASTATOR is the OG combiner. This I why I hope third party will KO OS these figures to the CW scale.
Man I was looking forward to these but am feeling a bit unimpressed. The hands especially with just peg holes I mean come on and that exposed ball joint. I know these are based on the 80's animation show and why BoneCrusher has green treads. Easier to animate back then with the colors but it just seems goofy with green treads. Especially with Scrapper having purple treads. I think Jinbao is still the best looking set out there. FansToys sure looking good but for almost $200 each that is a chunk of change
fair but I don't really agree with comparing 3p with hasbro, I think hasbro offers a far cheaper and overall pretty high quality alternative to a lot of 3p combiners that can set you back to almost thousands.
Yeah, Blast Off is a space shuttle and Swindle is a jeep, but they’re totally interchangeable and their robot modes are exactly the same height. The ‘86 cartoon did the best it could with what it had to work with.
I mean the price is not as bad as the combiner wars on ebay and its spread out so its easier to save up for so you don't have to spend a huge amount at once.
@@pizzathehut6622 and there isn't many opinions for a devastator, in the long run I think this a better deal as the market is filled with expensive 3p alts

Scavenger always had purple legs and Bonecrusher always had green legs.

12:14 if you watch the transformers movie 1986 the one he based on, you can see that the tread is actually not moving when he use his arm.
FYI Bonecrusher is huge for a Deluxe

Next year is a Exciting TF SS86 Toys hunts for us ya! 😅
12:44 that’s actually supposed to happen, most shots of the original cartoon showed the treads behind the chest wing
Scrapper's alt mode is a 'payloader'

First of all I'm sorry about your wife's passing and yes I do agree with you, they should have made him a little bigger, same size of a CW Devastator
@@luisnevarez8355 thank you very much.

If they can make a mini version for this . I will buy one. I like small size figure. Like Newage size.
The only places I see commander class and titan classes is at comics stores
86 movie scale, Snarl is half his height
Bro, do you live in the midwest? Because that's exactly how distribution is out here for me in the midwest😂

Sorry to hear. On the topic...ss86 as an adult collector is joke at this stage with those design.😂
dna leg kit needed

Combiners. Will. Never. Scale. Ever. Might as well just make the smaller bots scale and just meh it with the combiner and at least make it pretty

I have the Takara Devastator, and i hope they fix thoes legs, looks like he doesn't have knees.😅
You know you can just buy these toys online
I don't see a 210$ toy. It's a ripp off.
