Honestly, it's a really common misconception! It just feels like it *should* be that way, especially with how the Nemesis has been handled since BW. I think it's the interesting little core of this video's story!
Even after watching Beast Wars I thought that. Wasn't until the Transformers Wiki mentioned Microbots that I found out it wasn't. The ship in Microbots bearing zero resemblance to the Nemesis while the base looks somewhat like it doesn't help avoid the confusion.
Trypticon explicitly being mentioned in Transformers Prime would have been amazing. Imagine an entire episode dedicated to the Nemesis transforming back into Godzilla mode.

It's amazing how "Beast Wars" elevated the threat of what began as a seemingly standard ship, and inspired future series to continue using that name and status. The fact that it has its own robot mode is also pretty cool and I like how the helmet resembles the Decepticon logo.

My headcanon is that the Ark and Nemesis are 2 of several Ark ships used to leave Cybertron with them being called Ark: Exodus and Ark: Nemesis. Omega Supreme and Trypticon are also Ark ships with Omega as Ark: Genesis and Trypticon as Ark: Antithesis. Here's a theory. If Trypticon continued searching the Earth for Iacon Relics, do you think it would ever cross his mind that infusing larger doses of Dark Energon into his systems might give him enough energy to fully repair his body & regain the ability of transformation? He'll probably need a new T-Cog since his old one got destroyed back in the War for Cybertron video game (or he may not need one if the Dark Energon infusion takes care of that problem for him).
Well, that assumes that the Dark Energon-induced personality the ship exhibits is Trypticon's consciousness. When I interviewed the writer of the episode many years ago for a podcast, he said that he was aware of the ship's Trypticon backstory when writing it, but that he didn't think of the personality the ship displayed as being "Trypticon reawakened." So if we think of it as a new personality born of Dark Energon, would it even *want* to transform?

@@ChrisMcFeely One reason assuming there wasn't already a way to, actually taking the relics since I don't think the ship had any way to actually grab anything so unless Dark Energon could reconfigure the hull to form arms of some kind the ship may need to transform to actually get the relics

I just assumed that the Nemesis and the Victory were the same ship, partly because I rarely re-watched the initial multi-part pilot, finding it less interesting that what came later.
It's incredible how the Nemesis went from being a one time starship that crashed and was left to be forgotten, to being the most iconic Decepticon space vessel that creates such a massive threat to the Autobots, it now transforms into a robot mode. I decided to name the Legacy Nemesis's robot mode: "Nemesis Maxima" due to the Ark's robot mode being based on Autonomous Maximus (a.k.a. The Last Autobot). These names mean "The greatest nemesis" and "the greatest morals" respectively.
Fun Fact Transformers Prime in the Art Book showed us the Bot form of Nemesis and was about to be incorporated in the episode only to be scrapped And it's real name is Trypticon
Though the Titan nemesis was a skip for me ( I need somewhere to put her ) it’s a interesting figure and I do hope she will be given roles in future transformers projects
Think you'll ever do specific humans like Marissa Faireborn, the whole Witwicky family/the use of the Witwicky name as a whole and maybe even the nefarious Dr Arkeville?
@@Jazzer995From the wiki: "Sharkticon's alternate mode was meant to resemble the Generation 1 Decepticon starship Nemesis. Aaron Archer, at one BotCon panel, even admitted that he still thought of the character as "Nemesis", and had trouble recalling the released toy's final name." He was redecoed into Axalon in Transformers United, but still looked like the Nemesis.
With the rise of the Nemesis to prominence in the fandom and franchise, the Victory has ironically fallen into obscurity itself despite how heavily it featured. Such is the way of things, but who knows? Perhaps one day, the Victory will achieve the recognition it deserves.
@@gabrielchee8470 That's the fucked up part. The implication would be that she was just FORMED that way and covers it up because the implications would be too much for the average cybertronian to handle.
My favorite incarnation of the Nemesis was definitely in the WFC Trilogy, where it played a definitive role in the plot, looked good, looked menacing, and was absolutely enormous with a design that wasn’t too edgy unlike the Animated, Prime, Bayverse, and comic ones.
It is my personal opinion. But I prefer idea from Animated that Omega Supreme is the Arc, alongside Fall of Cyberton idea that Trypticon is the Nemesis. It simply make sense, alongside explaining early introduction.
I would have added "Project Nemesis" from Transformers Earthrise. Megatrons plan to create a starship Ark, but fueled by the sparks of thousands of cybertronians. As a small anecdote, while Shockwave stayed behind on the Nemesis during in the comics. the the G1 cartoon, it was the Insecticons that were left behind, though when the Nemesis went down they ejected in an escape craft before it crashed
Personally after finding out that the corpse of tripticon was used to build the nemesis I personally believe that when Megatron adds dark energon to the fuel system tripticon pseudo wakes up and has a bit of an axe to grind with Megatron for what he did
5:16 I appreciate the video skipping over the various other Nemesi that serve roughly the same functions in their stories, in favor of focusing on the inflection points of how the concept has evolved in the overall franchise through time. That’s the stuff I come to this channel for 👍👍
With both the Arc and Nemesis getting giant ship transformers, all the love Hasbro is giving to the Junkions, and the fact that the spiral ship from the '86 movie is visible on the poster, I hope that means were getting a Junkion ship figure. Or alternatively their own ship the Minnow from the cartoon.
This lore is fantastic. I was surprised when the Nemesis was going to be a Legacy, but to find out it has a female robot mode? Wow! I'm blown away! In an ongoing roleplay I'm doing, the new generations of Autobots and Decepticons have new ships, the Prime and the Cerberus respectively, but in my head, they are just like the Ark and the Nemesis in spirit. Also, to Chris, I just noticed you switched to that robotic face given to you in the Combaticons special. It suits you!
I want to get Nemesis for my Ark but damn the price for Nemesis is just stupid. Ark was like 60% cheaper and it came out during the pandemic and honestly did more and had more stuff.
This is just so funny to me. I like to imagine the Nemesis in the Legacy line was actually Trypticon at one point. But while stuck in stasis for so long and used as a ship, he decided to become a woman to psych Megatron out.
Of these I only think apelinq and twincast are likely. Some other more likely candidates would be devcon, crankcase and needlenose are more likely due to those guys getting legacy toys.
I love how Beast Wars managed to really make that ship special. I always knew the Decepticon base was a different ship, but I always called it the Seaview. At the time I was watching both Transformers and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea on the Sci-Fi Channel. I'm still watching the classic G1 series here on TH-cam and still coming up with my own stories. Now I imagine the Nemesis was actually recovered in the Microbots episode and refurbished. I just put Apeface and Snapdragon as the only two on it, running around the galaxy, picking up energon from all side hassles Megatron has going on other planets. I even imagine them hiding out on it after they parked it after the events of the movie. Hiding there rather than going to Charr.
Tripticon being the Nemesis was the coolest idea. I prefer it that way. I get why they went with this female robot for Legacy, they wanted the Nemesis from G1 and that design meant they couldn’t make it Tripticon. Good thing Planet X Apocalypse exists. I’m also still holding out hope for an Ark retool to make Animated Omega Supreme.
It’s really cool that they gave included the Ark and Nemesis into the toy line. The price is a huge investment though. I wonder if any 3rd party is going to come out with smaller ones.
7:22 I love the how the inclusion of the Nemesis toy implies that the Ark just decked a giant woman in her core, those fists were built for everyone lol
Ship salesman: Yessir...shes' a mighty vessel! Yep, she's a beaut!❤ Oh yeah...she can travel countless galaxies far beyond the... Megatron: Don't Talk about Nemesis that way!!! She's not a car!!!
So Cybertronians living and working inside Metroplex, the Ark, Nemesis, and others are kind of like parasites. I’m sure these larger bots don’t want others running around inside them. Prime’s nothing but a tapeworm!
Transformers Nemesis is the best Transformers and She and Trypticon as Nemesis are my favorite ❤❤❤Please make the new basics on Trypticon or Basics on Powerglide
One things that is important about the aligned continuity is that the classic nemesis appears in "war for cybertron". In the first mission, the decepticons use a ship that is very similar to the one seen in g1 to attack and board a space station.
I will say, im a bit disappointed that the Animated version only got a passing glance, with how many times its wreck became relevant again and again throughout the show. Like the time Starscream used the stolen ptotoforms aboard the ship to clone a squadron of himself for the season 2 finale, or how Megatron used the ships wreck as spare parts for His Omega Supreme Clones in Season 3. Not to mention its the first on Screen appearance after Beast Wars, which Made it its First appearance in almost 10 years.
Transformers Kingdom wasn't the first series to depict the Ark as a Transformer you know. I'm pretty sure that honor actually goes to Transformers Animated, when it was revealed that the Ark was in fact a giant transformer Omega Supreme.
@@gabrielchee8470 Plus it wasn't named the Ark in Animated on-screen (it didn't have a name until The All-Spark Almanac named it Orion). The fact is it was an elaborate homage to conceal the big twist.
Nemesis, under dark-energon influence : "do not tamper with my system, this will be your only warning!" Megatron : "warning?!" Nemesis : "my missions assumes priority. Any Cybertronian lifeform who intervenes with my mission will be neutralized!" Megatron : "my own vessel dare to address me in threathening tones?!" I love that episode and it was interesting to hear what happened to Trypticon back in WfC/FoC
And what was the name of the ship that Unicron gave Galvatron in The Transformers: The Movie? It sort of resembled the other two Decepticon ships seen earlier.
Nobody talks about how freaking clever Beast Wars was. If only a fourth season was made...they were even gonna include the Coneheads as main villains, it would have explained why they weren't on season 1 of G1 too! So clever,... missed chance
I think you got some ideas confused, I believe the coneheads were planned to be used as amunition against the Nemesis to explain their absence supposedly by being fired at it
I actually played Fall of Cybertron before watching Prime, and I think I actually said to my TV something along the lines of, "Oh, hey Trypticon!" Even though it's not mentioned by name, we knew who it was
I think he'll be part of the Basics of Trailbreaker, since he's too tied to Cybertron to warrant an Obscure Character video. And as a bit of trivia: Overhaul was supposed to be named Trailbreaker (and even had a different head based on G1 Trailbreaker), but Hasbro couldn't secure the trademark at the time.
*Prime Megatron:* Our ship, the dessecated remains of our old ally Tripticon, has been damaged, lets use some dark energon to repair it *Prime Megatron earlier:* Yo prime look at this shit, Imma role-play a necromancer and wake the dead with just a bit of dark energon on the ground
while I haven't watched the netflix trilogy probably would be repairing the Nemesis using some mystical ancient artifact to become a transformer... with the multiverse thing maybe the Animated version of the Allspark could do it since Animated Prowl was in the line
6:24 That said, given the MASSIVE plot holes that exist in Transformers Prime (given it's somehow supposed to be a continuation of the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games) it should be said that any reference to the games should be taken with a grain of salt. Edit: 7:47 I'm not sure whether I should happy or not that they didn't bother to make the Nemisis look anything like Trypticon or even be the same gender. Maybe for the best as TFP is only truly enjoyed if it's a separate continuity to the games.

If they make a GI Joe movie that crosses with Transformers, they might include Faireborn. That's when we'll get the Basics
I know that it doesn't technically count as a toy of the Nemesis, but Energon Sharkticon's alternate mode was meant to resemble the Nemesis
Close - it was the Maximal Axalon ship.
and even got repainted as such!@@Jazzer995
@@Jazzer995From the wiki:
"Sharkticon's alternate mode was meant to resemble the Generation 1 Decepticon starship Nemesis. Aaron Archer, at one BotCon panel, even admitted that he still thought of the character as "Nemesis", and had trouble recalling the released toy's final name."
He was redecoed into Axalon in Transformers United, but still looked like the Nemesis.
For a minute I thought you were saying that the "Nemesis" name originated from Shooter's outline, which would have been a REAL deep cut.
oooh, I didn't know about the giant freaky eyeball nemisis. Always learning something new here!
With the rise of the Nemesis to prominence in the fandom and franchise, the Victory has ironically fallen into obscurity itself despite how heavily it featured. Such is the way of things, but who knows? Perhaps one day, the Victory will achieve the recognition it deserves.
Imagine if the Titan Nemesis’ head was based on the Beast Wars II one as a little Easter egg…terrifying!
Just a single, disturbingly well-detailed eye that just keeps staring at you whenever you walk in the room
It'd be cool if you could take off the Decepticon symbol mask to reveal the eye underneath.
@@ltb1345unfortunately, you can't. Tho that would be very sad to see becuz they committed empurata on a *titan*. Oof
@@gabrielchee8470 That's the fucked up part.
The implication would be that she was just FORMED that way and covers it up because the implications would be too much for the average cybertronian to handle.
Crazy how it was Beast Wars that set a lot of the Standards Transformers still follows to this day.
Got my Nemesis toy a few weeks ago. Love it
It's kinda funny how both the Ark and the Nemesis are known for crashing. The Ark is always in mountains and the Nemesis is usually in the seas.
Behold the nemesis the nemesis
I would have added "Project Nemesis" from Transformers Earthrise. Megatrons plan to create a starship Ark, but fueled by the sparks of thousands of cybertronians.
As a small anecdote, while Shockwave stayed behind on the Nemesis during in the comics. the the G1 cartoon, it was the Insecticons that were left behind, though when the Nemesis went down they ejected in an escape craft before it crashed
Personally after finding out that the corpse of tripticon was used to build the nemesis I personally believe that when Megatron adds dark energon to the fuel system tripticon pseudo wakes up and has a bit of an axe to grind with Megatron for what he did
Starting to realize that Beast Wars has been the starting point of a lot of Transformer lore.
This is the first video I have seen in 1 minute from being released
The Beast Wars version is probably my favorite version of the ship. Sleeker, more angular, and less fat than the G1 version.
Actually the spiral ship from the movie belonged to the Quintessons.
@@PepsiGolem thanks, wiki was lacking info on that ship when I looked for a name.
Putting the trans in transformers
4:12:Admiral Piett:"Intensify foward fire power!"
A-Wing pilot:"AHHHHHH!!!"
Imperial Officer:"Too late!!!!"
My list for obscure characters month in December
1st: Apelinq
2nd: Twincast
3rd: Firestar/Flare-up/Novastar
4th: Magmatron
Of these I only think apelinq and twincast are likely.
Some other more likely candidates would be devcon, crankcase and needlenose are more likely due to those guys getting legacy toys.
Lady nemesis finally got her figure and it's awesome hopefully we see her in future shows
I love how Beast Wars managed to really make that ship special.
It took decades for the Decepticon ship to be given a proper transformable figure
This is a video I needed for years. Finally we got it. Thank you.
I really felt that the Decepticon starship became the character I liked in the UK comic - when Galvatron blew it up in Target: 2006.
It’s really cool that they gave included the Ark and Nemesis into the toy line. The price is a huge investment though. I wonder if any 3rd party is going to come out with smaller ones.
The trpticon being the nemesis idea was cool
7:22 I love the how the inclusion of the Nemesis toy implies that the Ark just decked a giant woman in her core, those fists were built for everyone lol
“Now, the Decepticons’ Nemesis isn’t the *only* Nemesis in Transformers history”
When that eye is on my screen that feels like a threat
Always thought the Revenge was the best designed G1 Decepticon spaceship. But the Beast Wars redesign certainly made the Nemesis look a lot better.
I like 👍 the video my favourite version of the Nemesis is the one with a robot 🤖 mode
I really like the nemesis and also I like titan class toys and read about the nemesis because it a flagship ❤
Ive been a TFP fan ever since i was a little lad, I never knew that the con's ship in TFP was the nemesis 😅
It's named exactly once onscreen, for whatever reason they just call it "the warship" the rest of the time!
@@ChrisMcFeelythat’s weird
Please do a basics on tarantulas. He is my favorite beast wars character.
Mr. McFeely! So humbled that you dug my artwork! Hope it brings you and your fans much joy in years to come! Drive on, sir! 😊
Please do Sunstreaker or Metroplex next!
Well the "ARK" and "NEMESIS" will become a 3rd pair of TITAN rivalry after "METROPLEX/TRYPTICON" and "FORTRESS MAX/SCORPONOK"
Ship salesman: Yessir...shes' a mighty vessel! Yep, she's a beaut!❤ Oh yeah...she can travel countless galaxies far beyond the...
Megatron: Don't Talk about Nemesis that way!!! She's not a car!!!
Glad to see the Nemesis. Hoping he can finish up the rest of the original '84 crew.
Holy crap I wanna see Nemesis become Unicrons busted eye on screen so badly
I Love Transformers the Nemesis, she's my fav, so her ship form❤ Trypticon and other titans
We need a G1 show featuring a clash between the Ark and the Nemesis in their robot forms.
Nemesis: remsembles Decepticons and The arc: Autobots ❤
That zombie that chases you in resident evil 3.
About the Nemesis.
Me: You have no soul!!
Predacon Megatron: That is why she has no fear!!
I was one of the artists that worked on Beast Wars and got to model both the Ark and the Nemesis.
I think that's considered more just omega
@@gabrielchee8470 Plus it wasn't named the Ark in Animated on-screen (it didn't have a name until The All-Spark Almanac named it Orion). The fact is it was an elaborate homage to conceal the big twist.
I just want to see Trypticon and the Nemesis hanging out in robot modes, now.
You're the best! I have the Planet X Nemesis & the Legacy release. Both are amazing in their own ways.
"So tell me, Megatron: Am I... thicc? With two c's?"
"Yeh"
Nemesis, under dark-energon influence : "do not tamper with my system, this will be your only warning!"
Megatron : "warning?!"
Nemesis : "my missions assumes priority. Any Cybertronian lifeform who intervenes with my mission will be neutralized!"
Megatron : "my own vessel dare to address me in threathening tones?!"
I love that episode and it was interesting to hear what happened to Trypticon back in WfC/FoC
And what was the name of the ship that Unicron gave Galvatron in The Transformers: The Movie? It sort of resembled the other two Decepticon ships seen earlier.
It was retroactively named the "Revenge."
6:01 An image of Trypticon appears on one of the screens of _Nemesis_ in the episode "Flying Mind". Does this count as a mention?
Nobody talks about how freaking clever Beast Wars was. If only a fourth season was made...they were even gonna include the Coneheads as main villains, it would have explained why they weren't on season 1 of G1 too! So clever,... missed chance
I think you got some ideas confused, I believe the coneheads were planned to be used as amunition against the Nemesis to explain their absence supposedly by being fired at it
I'm surprised it took this long to talk about the nemesis.
Could you do the basics on the Technobots?
This is the quickest I've ever watched a video aftwr its coming out.
"Trypticon, if you can hear me, know this is not a rescue operation."
Megatron, ladies and gentlemen.
I actually played Fall of Cybertron before watching Prime, and I think I actually said to my TV something along the lines of, "Oh, hey Trypticon!" Even though it's not mentioned by name, we knew who it was
Would love to see a Basics on Overhaul/Leobreaker if there’s enough info to make it worthwhile
*Prime Megatron:* Our ship, the dessecated remains of our old ally Tripticon, has been damaged, lets use some dark energon to repair it
*Prime Megatron earlier:* Yo prime look at this shit, Imma role-play a necromancer and wake the dead with just a bit of dark energon on the ground
Perhaps if the Legacy Cartoon hadn´t been cancelled, perhaps we will see the Nemesis transforming in robot mode and fighting the Autobot Ark
while I haven't watched the netflix trilogy probably would be repairing the Nemesis using some mystical ancient artifact to become a transformer... with the multiverse thing maybe the Animated version of the Allspark could do it since Animated Prowl was in the line
Taking in consideration the average size of a cybertronian, what really amazes me is the size those ships. Just the deck of command must be enormous!
My favorite take on the Decepticon flagship The Nemesis is of course in Beast Wars, but my most favorite take on this flagship is in Transformers Prime. 👍👍👍
