I have had a deep love and appreication for Robert Hunter since the beginning of his time with Jerry, and to me this recording is a Legacy recording that truly captures his heart and spirit... I also couldn't make it through Box of Rain... the beauty and clarity of his vocals... the notes of his guitar dancing in the air... and the love of his lyrics just penetrated my heart... all I could see was Phil Lesh singing this song to his father dying of cancer...Walk into splintered sunlight Robert... and keep walking... enjoy the beauty and glory all around you!!
First show after Jerry, The Other Ones, in Chicago, Hunter was onstage performing while the audience was walking around or talking but not paying any attention. It was very sad to see.
thank you so much,, Great recording. An American classic one of our great writers, story tellers. An intimate acoustic show, Robert in great voice and his subtle yet real fine guitar.. Fare thee well indeed ..
Thank you for posting this. It was a great 66th birthday present. I've only seen him perform once. I'm disabled and living in a remote part of the Southwest and haven't gotten out past Flagstaff, AZ, or St. George, Utah, in 14 years.
A blessing in this guy...I have a grateful heart for being lucky enough to have experienced such positive things as a direct result of his being. What Robert Hunter does, and the things he's influenced along the way is an amazing phenomenon to be aware of. I think its all a miracle happening now. And will never end.
I saw Robert a few weeks earlier, doing just about same. What a night. On the other side of the coin, a drunken NYC for St. Paddy's Day, as I moved around the stumbling, bumbling assholes as I made my way to the world famous Town Hall for the show. It's up on the Archive. SOTM opener. A beautiful night.
Hi Phrostington is this a board feed or an audience recording. It sounds like board, but Cotter doesn't remember giving one out. Any way thanks so much for posting this a friend sent it to us today and we are thrilled to have it!
The song remains, sunshine ~ hard rains Imagine all remembered Less we forget Short time here, long time gone - still in our hearts, lullabye bye bye songs . I miss my grateful Sprite, Storyteller show love & light, pray the spirit lives on.

It was nice meeting you at the Blue Moon, Robert. I enjoyed our conversation. I hope you were able to help out Jambay get their start. Sorry if I gave you moonitis by talking too much about Jerry and the Grateful Dead.
What a beautiful, soulful, gentle (sort of) poet. The band should have been called Jerry Robert and the Dead. Unique genius who definitely passed the acid test for being human. Happy trails mann.
great solo concert! some pf the songs we associate with the GD are even better performed by the guy who wrote them and knows how the energy is supposed to flow into them. we miss you, deer Robert.
I couldn't make it through the first song. Great lyricist and songwriter but, let's face it, his singing is terrible. He makes Weir and DJG sound good.

I got to see Robert Hunter perform from the late 70s up till 2015. So blessed. This is definitely one of the best Robert Hunter shows I’ve ever heard.

Phil should be shamed for not doing this super classic wonder for so long, it’s just a short time to be, …
