I loved this song when I watched this. I was 7, and my aunt was babysitting me. She was 12 yrs older than me. So she was one of the fun aunts😂. I was dancing (jumping). Wishing it wouldn't end. Now I can see it whenever!
I never heard of this song Rock n Roll is hear to stay until seeing this video. I love the song and the performance. Village People know how to put on a lively performance. They should have won an award for this song. If this video was back in the late 70s, I was just a teenager then, but I would have enjoyed being there. Everyone was having a blast. Those were the days.
This is a crossover I didn't think I needed in my life... Village People and The Playmates, partying together and dancing to disco, in the '70s. Also Dorothy Stratten/Star 80 and Glenn Hughes/Leatherman seem made for each other @6:10.
That microphone the lead singer is using is a dangerous weapon and could put someone’s eye out.. seriously lol. These people are having a great time. Energy is unreal!
Glenn Hughes was the sexiest one of all, and he was a real biker with his own Harley, Randy Jones, the cowboy was my 2nd favorite. I'm glad you didn't mention Victor Willis, (the first lead singer), after Victor Willis got out of prison and fired everyone but Alex, I haven't had much use for him. Plus he's so fat that he can hardly move now plus he can't sing anymore. If Ray Simpson would of been able to stay, the original Village People would of lasted alot longer than what they did. I liked Ray Simpson alot better than Victor Willis.
I didn't either, lol, you sure can tell them apart now, after Victor Willis got out of prison and replaced everyone but Alex, Victor Willis got so darn fat that he can hardly move, and he definitely can't sing anymore. I seen a video of him and he has to stand still now because he's way too fat to move, lol
I just wish they would of filmed more of Glenn Hughes, (the biker), and Randy Jones, (the cowboy), Thoes were my 2 favorite ones, especially Glenn Hughes, he was the sexiest one of all.
Cool thing about that is You can probably directly talk to him now! Thanks to Social media a lot of these once Household names are pretty much just regular people now! Not saying they’re not famous..they’re just a little less paid attention to now
I agree, everyone back then seemed so much happier and everyone got along, white, black, gay and straight people, they just knew how to have fun, not like today, today everyone hates everyone now, so sad.
This period seemed to be the birth of progress for us. The closet doors were opening in many areas. Then came 1980’s. I know that things can regress at anytime. However people now can find all sorts of gay images. Back then no internet or You Tube.
Yeah once Reagan took office a lot of the progress gay people made went down the toilet and reverted back to the 1950s. I always found it very suspicious that just as gay people were becoming accepted in the late 70s, AIDs began in 1981 and it seemed to affect only gay MEN and not even LESBIANS. Sounded like something the government created to get rid of gay men, but leave the lesbians alone since most straight men LOVE lesbians.
I almost feel like apologizing for the continued "thanks" since I've given them on so many of your video uploads, but I really do appreciate them so much. These are important historical records that might otherwise be lost, so thanks again. Now it seems like all you need is to be untalented, blond, and do irritating schoolyard chanting to be popular. (I'm so proud I didn't mention Taylor Swift by name, because that would be poor taste.). Thanks for sharing cultural highlights and historical insights yet again.
ok so the title is ROCK & ROLL IS BACK AGAIN -- a very unlikely piece of the Village People, but at least they did a different beat this time, though this was 1979...love to see the VPs when they danced sideways and back into the unusual tune
kudos to the composers Jacques Morali (RIP) & Phil Hurtt (inclusive in the Live and Sleazy album) !!! really love these compositions ... very unusual VP tune.
Me,Being Half American Indian...The village people! Huh? I didnt know being an Indian was a Profession!! Ha. I got that from the American Indian comedian ,Charlie Hill. Ha!!
Yo! That's what I noticed from the start of this video. That there is pure unadulterated black face, an exaggerative caricature of black people. These fools just had to go there, it's so evidently clear. Now here comes the denials: "why does everything have to be about race" mantra? Yes! it's all about race and always has been. White folks just can't seem to help themselves. They see black folks having fun they have to inflict some pain into the mix. Yeah, I said that.
Village People is one of the best groups in the history.👍👏
This is one of the best random things I’ve found on TH-cam.

This was the late 70's. When gay and straights partied and mingled. There was a lot of nose candy!
I always love the leather guy from their group. YUMMY...;)
And that performance of "Danny Boy" in their movie...amazing voice!!!

This vidio is a time machine
Or maybe a 'good times' machine .
Fast foward 41 years later in 2021...." Wanna go back to the eighties"

lead vocal Ray Simpson's voice is just right while Victor Willis was away...
poor Dorothy Stratton had a short and unhappy life
Seeing Dorothy Stratten broke my heart.
such a short tragic life
Unlucky beauty...and rip bikerman too
That microphone the lead singer is using is a dangerous weapon and could put someone’s eye out.. seriously lol. These people are having a great time. Energy is unreal!
This is when the mainstream was Gay and being Gay wasn't political.
This seems like a good party
everybody looked like they were having a great time
Awesome 👏🏻 loved it and two of their great songs.
Glen just had the look of Village People. I mean, they all did: Hodo, Randy, Briley, Felipe and Ray. What a mix of talent.

Damn when I was younger I didn't notice the change over of lead singers from Victor Willis to Ray Simpson. I just enjoyed the music.
not many did . notice .

Mid-Coke, Pre-AIDS. The good old days
Aids was on the scene and we didn't know it...
I was a 14 y/o gay kid then and madly in love with the construction worker....I still get fluttery when I see him in this video
Yes boy! The construction worker was the hot one. The Indian always seemed to scare me lol
So hot!
Lol

@@jasonwhite7452 he’s probably super old now though

Apocalypse Now, Kramer Vs. Kramer, the fallout from the Jonestown Massacre, 3-Mile Island, the depths of a decade long recession. Good times.
@@skipads5141 liberals had to ruin everything. i mean that puppet is in blackface and no one is complaining
So campy and over the top! 🔥👏🏽
Billie Elish and her satanic music videos are over the top and CRINGE

Wow, the women in the crowd are bad ass even for today's standards.
Women were way hotter back then.
They were awesome, straight people love them too

Qué guapo y sexy era David Hodo. Belleza de hombre.
real que si 🙌🏻
Eu estava com meus 15 anos em 1979 muito 👍
Ninguém superou Village People... ninguém!! Nobody beat it Ever until today!!!
kudos to the composers Jacques Morali (RIP) & Phil Hurtt (inclusive in the Live and Sleazy album) !!! really love these compositions ... very unusual VP tune.
God I had a major crush for Glenn Hughes the Leatherman! My 14 year old self was in love! 😊
He was so fucking HOT!!
Beatifuld
Cosby was there too with his bag of laced pudding pops handing them out hoping for action
I was in the closet with my girlfriend in 1978, Salt Lake City with Gloria Gaynor. What a show
The infamous Playboy Pajama and Roller Boogie party
The middle guy is giving me Ken from the new Barbie movie 2023 😂😂
The Leatherman is so damn hot....

Village People, not valley people
What special is this from, a Playboy one since Hef is seen in the mansion?

it's not supposed to be a profession, it is a rainbow-depiction of masculinity. get it?

I forgot the name of Wayland Flowers’ African-American puppet. But she was just as funny, loud, and outrageous as Madame !
Jiffy

SAME STAGE I SHOWED MY BIKINI COUTURE SHOW FOR HUGH BEFORE HE DIED.
1:39 Ritchie Blackmore
0:14 is that PETER ALLEN?
Seated? I didn't see him.
The guy walking around in red is Hugh Hefner.
But Peter Allen at a gay event? Surely you jest! 😂😉
FIESTA CON SUPER ESTRELLAS PERO CON EL HUMOR Y LA ALEGRÍA DE UNOS ADOLESCENTES DE COLEGIO BAILANDO CON SUS ÍDOLOS.....
When people weren’t uptight about everything.
"Jiffy" was like a racist caricature of the Madame character
0:58 como se llama la canción?
Rock & Roll is back again
Is that Geena Davis at 0'18"?
I'm wondering who is it 🤔
Como se llama la primera canción....?
Rock and Roll is Back Again
Wait, was Madame in blackface at the beginning? Wtf
The Village People singing about rock and roll is like Eminem pretending he's doing a country song.
did anyone recognize Gina from Real Housewives of Orange County @ 6:27? Looks just like her.
I have the sound off... WTF is going on here
.. hedonistic disco fun
There's an odd mix
