God the hand movements are just so freaking good. Smoothing the skirt, tossing the shawl, touching the hair. Its just absolutely impeccable puppeteering honestly. Just world class.
It’s freakin amazing how he so lifelike and casually controls both of her arms using like three fingers in one hand while operating the mouth and throwing the voice. I’ve seen masters of the voice throwing but this is something I haven’t seen before.
What an amazing puppeteer, voice and character. The movement is extraordinarily subtle. I remember being amazed by this as a kid and getting none of the adult humor.
Many years since Wayland passed away yet hm, and his amazing creation still make people laugh and introduce new fans to them. That is one hell of a fantastic legacy. Madame for President 2020
One of the greatest illusionists you’ll ever witness. What a master of puppetry! Every gesture and head tilt strategically manipulated into an absolute convincing performance. It’s truly hard to believe that Madame wasn’t real. You will never see a puppeteer achieving the level of success that Wayland Flowers had. Gone too soon. He was a comet that once flashed across the world…..we were all so lucky to witness this talent!
My mom introduced me to Wayland Flowers he's hilarious and also i'm openly bisexual now so many queer actors comedians and politicians out there i've been bi since I was 9 years old and was so afraid to open up about it my parents don't accept it because they are Christian but I am very lucky I have friends who I consider family that accept me for who I am.
I know a lot of people loved madam, but as a 7 year old child- Not understanding weyland flowers sense of humor-madam’s protruding nose and & chin -(especially when she was laughing) along with her pinched face and deep fast speech SCARED ME TO DEATH!!!!!!!!!!! I always had nightmares that her and lady Elaine would crawl through my window and stare at me ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!!
+This Is Geltown Hi Cindy and crew, I found you on youtube and facebook. Just wanted to know if you might ever come to high point n c. I think some of the stuff you do is hilarious but your videos are not long enough for me to get a true feel for you. Do you think you might do longer vid's or is it just the short stuff like me lol.
I loved Madame as a kid. She was so loveable. As an adult I think she is hilarious, though the guy in the audience at 1:19 is a whole mood. His wife next to him is dying of laughter. Can't help but wonder if he's missing what is likely the last game of World Series because his wife begged him to drive her.
Can we take a second to appreciate how much talent it takes to do what Wayland is doing. Watch His hand controlling the arms of madam. He’s not even looking. That’s talent.
My parents will swear that I used to be afraid of Madame Puppet - in all honesty I don't remember that XD Decades later, I'm watching this video as if she's a real person :) LOVE Madame Puppet!!
Wolfgang's nightclub was short lived at 901 Columbus Ave. in SF. It opened in 1983 and closed in 1987 due to a fire above the venue caused too much damage for them to re-open.
Who's here after remembering the Family Guy joke with Peter trying to do the same kind of gimmick? Frankly, it didn't do her much justice, but it leads people to look into her and it's hilarious. Saw a clip on FB of her doing a little ditty, letting her hair down, all very natural in how he puppetteered her
83-84, the gaping maw of AIDS was opening and about to devastate whole communities of people, lost populations of people, I was with the Shanti Foundation, I sat with people in hospice until they were taken. It would be years before we got treatment, all we could do was die.
Does anyone know what happened to Madame after Waylands death? A museum would be nice, wouldve been hard for someone to take over the voice...incomparable
1:13 The man staring trying to figuring out if Wayland is gay so he can properly adjust his hatred for him - also the * deep* blink* of the guy to his left
According to the creative team of The Simpsons, Flowers was the inspiration for the first name of Waylon Smithers, Montgomery Burns' sycophantic gay assistant.
Here because Raja rocked it and needed to teach a lesson to us young gays.
Oh shut up
Me too😂😂😂😂
Hahahaha me too 😂😂😂
Me tooo
Ru Paul’s Best Friend Race!
it's just amazing how he brings her to life. the movements of her arms, body language, voice inflection. he's a true master of his craft.
He really is.
God the hand movements are just so freaking good. Smoothing the skirt, tossing the shawl, touching the hair. Its just absolutely impeccable puppeteering honestly. Just world class.
Raja was so smart doing this for snatch game. Really good character to do.
Thanks Raja, this amazing piece of queer culture is not forgotten 💜👁️💜
God bless Raja for introducing me to this
he was doing DRAG with Madame and i love every part of it
Omg completely
It’s freakin amazing how he so lifelike and casually controls both of her arms using like three fingers in one hand while operating the mouth and throwing the voice. I’ve seen masters of the voice throwing but this is something I haven’t seen before.
He was amazing puppeteer - who don't worry about people seeing their mouths move.
Who are they?
here because of raja. omg madame is an icon!
Raja brought me here.
I LOVED Madame as a little girl. I haven't seen her for years. I began to think she was a creation of my imagination. Thanks for posting this.
This is the most creative way to come out that I've ever seen.
Camp at its best! So talented, wish Wayland and Madame were still here.
This stuff was really ahead of it's time, no wonder Raja opted to impersonate her.
The youtube algorithm said you are going to do what your Mother Raja told you to do and that is to watch videos of Wayland and Madame here on youtube!
My god, I used to watch this show with my grandmother when I was super young. I was CRUSHED when Ross left KTVU but he had been there for decades.
Is Madam at the Smithsonian??!

Raja brought me.
I’m here thanks to Raja
This man and his puppet were a ubiquitous presence in my childhood.
Now I get the RPDR snatch game reference
Thanks to Raja… this just popped into my feed. 😂
Damn I loved that woman/puppet when i was a kid.
As a kid I loved Wayland & Madame on Hollywood Squares...always funny! :D
He was a funny guy ! MADAME was hysterical!!!! The straight audience looks totally constipated !!!!
For those of us who lived in San Francisco in the early 80's, wonderful memories of Ross and Ann and MADAME!
Joan Rivers is on fire in this segment!
lol Old dude @ 1:13 is not having it
Or perhaps studying it intently. But, probably not.
The guy next to him is soaking it in.
I saw that too😂 He was like, " what in the hell..."
LMAO, I know, really, They got to the point they didn't put him on camera anymore.
I know a lot of people loved madam, but as a 7 year old child-
Not understanding weyland flowers sense of humor-madam’s protruding nose and & chin -(especially when she was laughing) along with her pinched face and deep fast speech
SCARED ME TO DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!
I always had nightmares that her and lady Elaine would crawl through my window and stare at me ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!!

I met the lady that Madame was modeled after. The lady's name was Margo who worked in Trio on I believe 17th street. Great memories
Aussie here, new to the Madame phenomenon, but mostly here because of Raja
Raja snatch Game ❤️
Really loved watching Wayland and Madame so much. Miss them alot.
I loved Madame as a kid. She was so loveable. As an adult I think she is hilarious, though the guy in the audience at 1:19 is a whole mood. His wife next to him is dying of laughter. Brilliant I could never tire of madam brilliant
He's an (was) an amazing puppeteer.
Raja’s Snatch Game performance brought me here
My parents will swear that I used to be afraid of Madame Puppet - in all honesty I don't remember that XD
Decades later, I'm watching this video as if she's a real person :) LOVE Madame Puppet!!
I miss that program and other local shows that all disappeared after the big corporations started meddling in things.
I loved this show, but even more, Ann Fraser's wardrobe was always awesome.
Here because of Raja! Summer diamonds, summer not! 😅
I wish that book was available as an ebook
We still miss you Wayland/Madame. Blessings where ever you are.
Wolfgang's nightclub was short lived at 901 Columbus Ave. in SF. It opened in 1983 and closed in 1987 due to a fire above the venue caused too much damage for them to re-open.
that puppet is alive I wonder where it is now.
Monkey Nutz she was brought back in 2008 by another person for awhile.
I loved Madame
Raja should have been in the top 2 !!
Loved this act! He was truly talented!!
Thank you Raja
The talent is incredible 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I remember this over 40 years ago
Raja brought me here...
Loved this show.
Who else is here because of Raja?
Who's here after remembering the Family Guy joke with Peter trying to do the same kind of gimmick? Frankly, it didn't do her much justice, but it leads people to look into her and it's hilarious. Saw a clip on FB of her doing a little ditty, letting her hair down, all very natural in how he puppetteered her
The audience is not having it.
Here from All Stars 7, All Winners!!!

That never occurred to me but when I read your comment it was like, I'm surprised he hasn't already.

What a gorgeous puppet.
This ducking thing scared the crap out of me growing up.
I used to be scared of Madame Puppet when I was little XD
Raja!!!
83-84, the gaping maw of AIDS was opening and about to devastate whole communities of people, lost populations of people, I was with the Shanti Foundation, I sat with people in hospice until they were taken. It would be years before we got treatment, all we could do was die.
She is somehow related to Katya.
Rest in peace Sir❤️
XD love this, hilarious :D
childhood 😍😍😍😍😍😍
That is one freaky puppet.
1:35 “you’re mammy Viola” this isn’t recent.
1986 I believe.
The sheer audaciousness of the wardrobe from the 80's; wtf were we thinking?!?😳 Even the 70's era was FAR better!🤔🤓 So much for "Getting Physical".
Does anyone know what happened to Madame after Waylands death? A museum would be nice, wouldve been hard for someone to take over the voice...incomparable
Did the hostess actually say mammy? WOW:-( 😳
del ham Relax. It was a different time
1:13 The man staring trying to figuring out if Wayland is gay so he can properly adjust his hatred for him - also the * deep* blink* of the guy to his left
*closes eyes*
The puppet may be a bit odd looking but damn does it have a story
wtf did i stumble apon when searching for madame the art stealer
Oh so he's not a ventriloquist because he's definitely not trying to not move his mouth
i thought ventriloquists weren't supposed to move their lips
I thought that was Madonna! Lol
That man in the audience at 1:13 has some suspicions.
According to the creative team of The Simpsons, Flowers was the inspiration for the first name of Waylon Smithers, Montgomery Burns' sycophantic gay assistant.
Snake Bite aka Rue😂😂😂.
