Thanks guys for addressing this. Vingegaard`s performances have been outstanding and the way he deals with the rumours has been commendable. Lets enjoy the talents of two fantastic riders.
These two guys are great. The perfect interviewer JB with always good well-thought-out questions and have a nice takes on things & Johan's incredibly large back catalog of knowledge and today insight take. Bravo continue comme ça
Sign of real professionals when you can validate our complaints, thank you. I would especially like to hear more about Jumbo's success as a team after all it isn't just Jonas. Lot's of talent on the team, let's not forget Roglic, van Aert, and top domestiques. There's a lot to manage; ego's, development, and strategies, etc. and they're getting it done in spectacular fashion.
Jonas is just like what Jokic(NBA) is to Americans, someone you overlook despite dominating because they are both humble and don’t have that Bling .. 😊
That is exactly how it sounded. Everyone keeps talking about Pogi and the silence towards Jonas has been disrespectful. Thanks for correcting! I would love for Johan to comment on differences in approach towards nutrition and recovery between JV and UAE. I wonder if some of the team discipline at UAE is slipping over the last two years.
Me too! Would be amazing if Johan has some insight into how things may (or may not) be done differently at the teams.. Of course I do understand that they probably keep certain knowledge secret to keep those marginal advantages
There was no silence about Jonas they address his perfemance 2 days in a row and how he kicked Pogacar ass 2 days in a row. The story was that how Pogacar los 6 minutes.
Im from Denmark and/ and live in spain Valladolid and the vuelta come here this year .im a Lance Armstrong fan still and alsoe johan of course.i sit and Wonder Why The took Lance 7 years Tour de France away but NOT Bjarne riis or bernald hino or indurain.we all know this area was all using Doping and Lance was the best.can you amagine They took 5 Tour de France Away From Bernard or any Else from france 😅😅.lance Armstrong is Still The best Tour Rider i Ever saw.dont come and say to me Eddie merx was Clean too
In 99 or 2000 there was also an amateur rider riding besides Lance Armstrong (referring to one of the questions asked in the show). The amateur also wore a yellow jersey. It was quite late in the stage
Vinegaard did his normal superb performance which on other days Pog could match. The big story was Pogs collapse rather than Jonas normal performance. The day before the story was Jonas time trial of a life time.
Thanks fore a great Show again This year and i Hope Next year we will Have a 3 Rider who can push jonas and pogi.the Race is not over but its sad it goes to and end.i always feel emty when the Tour is over.thanks for the Show again and look forward to Next year❤
This is the thing - once people start making it about one or the other and start perceiving a slight - it makes everything so much more unbearable. The Tour is supposed to be a feast or celebration. They were only talking about a major discussion point. There's nothing to be ashamed of in that.
I’m a Vingegaard fan and I listened yesterday. I’m also a former cyclist and I did not think you diminished Jonas whatsoever. If Pogacar had only lost two minutes it would have been more about J.V. Jonas is the best rider, has the best team, and has the best team director. I thought you both were great yesterday. Just my thoughts.
Don't worry, Vingegaard does not watch the news or any social media 🙂But as a dane, I am not too worried about your comments. I think Pogi just ran out of energy. This Tour is vastly different and harder than ever. And also in 2021 Pogi was getting worse in the end of the race, last year even more so, and this year a tough spring and and a broken wrist just adds up and in the end he runs out of juice"
Can’t believe that it comes to this point that they have to apologies to Vinegaard fans. They clearly mentioned many times that Jonas is the better rider and then proceed to talk about Pogacar because Jonas just kicked his ass. Incredible that they even have to address this.
Answer not entirely correct for the first US winner of TDF.. Technically it's Marianne Martin, female, in the first women's race, who won the TDF in 1984. But Greg LeMond won it on 1986 Callie Peterson 0:150:15
Interesting to hear that Pogacar was in good spirits today. I was actually looking all day for news of his being ill and dropping the Tour. Yeah, "The Badger" - Bernard Hinault - earned that nickname. Like most pro cyclists, he wasn't a very big guy, but had a tough reputation.
i actually think yesterday wasnt Vingegaards best day either, otherwise i think he would have won the stage and for sure he would have dropped the guys he was with in the last 500 meter uphill. but for sure Vingegaard is stronger then last year and his time trial was maybe the best time trial i have ever seen (Dumoulin also said this). It could also be Vingegaard wasnt as good in the end of the stage cuz he already knew he put more then 5 minutes into his main rival so he didnt need to bite thru the pain as much as in the other stages where he battled with Pogacar. But imagine if Pogacar would have been as good as on stage 7 or on the puy de dome, then i think he would have for sure put half a minute on Vingegaard on that finish yesterday. But overall Vingegaard was awesome this Tour.
You didn't need to apologize. People and their favorites get dumb. Jonas was not the story of yesterdays stage. Yes, Pog was fried and dropped and Jonas put a lot of time essentially ending the GC, but it was a mid ride thing where everyone knew it was over. Time to talk about other things happening.
I don't think that talking about Jonas winning is disrespectful but I think all of these doping accusations are. I root for Tadej but if Jonas dopes I'd be shocked.
I appreciate your dissertation on Jonas’s time trial. I also know you can’t talk about doping, but they are doped. The calculations were around 5% which you know better than anyone what that means. I should say, some riders are doping 5% run that through your brilliant mind you know what is up.
I mean, do you really have people salty enough to come whining about the show not talking about their favorite rider? I know we are on the net, but the level of fanboyism from some here is getting ridiculous. The show is about talking/analyzing the race. If you want just some random pub level discussion glorifying your hero, go to NBC and GCN post-race segment.
Thanks guys for addressing this. Vingegaard`s performances have been outstanding and the way he deals with the rumours has been commendable. Lets enjoy the talents of two fantastic riders.

Thx for the Vingegaard clear up

You two make the best show. Thank you very much
Lance said JB is the the bill bellicheck of 🚴♀️ cycling coaches ! Enough said!
Good comparison
You mean, being so competitive he might be cheating?
You guys are great! Yesterday’s show was perfect!!!
Jonas is just like what Jokic(NBA) is to Americans, someone you overlook despite dominating because they are both humble and don’t have that Bling .. 😊
What about jasper philipsen trying to stop the forth guy from joining the breakaway and literally bullying and blocking him!? How was that allowed?👀
That is exactly how it sounded. Everyone keeps talking about Pogi and the silence towards Jonas has been disrespectful. Thanks for correcting! I love that there have been so many different stage winners during this Tour. I'm counting 15 different winners so far after 18 stages.
In 99 or 2000 there was also an amateur rider riding besides Lance Armstrong (referring to one of the questions asked in the show). The amateur also wore a yellow jersey. It was quite late in the stage

Great historical info and anecdotes
Good to hear that bygones can be bygones. Any chance Alberto Contador will be invited to the Majorca get togethers?
LMBO!

I’m from Denmark and follow all WEDŪ shows and I never thought any of the things you have been addressing today. Beware of keyboard warriors.
This is the thing - once people start making it about one or the other and start perceiving a slight - it makes everything so much more unbearable. The Tour is supposed to be a feast or celebration. They were only talking about a major discussion point. There's nothing to be ashamed of in that.
Keyboard warriors. I love the name.
Ditto
Is there somewhere we can get Johan's full bio and history? His depth of knowledge is incredible.
I haven't yet checked myself, but Wikipedia or Google might have some info you're looking for!

The Pink Panther (Magnus Cort Nielsen) stage 19???
Amazing!
Can’t believe that it comes to this point that they have to apologies to Vinegaard fans.
They clearly mentioned many times that Jonas is the better rider and then proceed to talk about Pogacar because Jonas just kicked his ass.
Incredible that they even have to address this.
Another hint Johan for the ventum bike?
Was the guy from your country 2nd in a mountain stage and was his finish not on tv??? 😜
JB making it all about us
LA said all that matters is TdF, regardless of how many other races you won. So I take it as the truth.
Answer not entirely correct for the first US winner of TDF..

But Greg LeMond won it on 1986

Any comment on philipsen hi jinx?
He sucks. His team too - should’ve been relegated at least 2x by now
@@5508Vanderdekken yeah seems like at least 2 (probably 3) yellow cards by now.
Proved to everyone what a joke he is, this was sanctionable, but that would've made the Stage 3 sprint 'non DQ' look like a bad decision lol.
sounds like if Pogacar had a Ventum bike he would lead the tour
Pogi lost the race yesterday Jonas will win the race on Sunday and will get all of the accolades then and going forward.
With Jumbo leaving sports sponsorship, do the riders have to renegotiate their contracts with the new sponsor? Any rumors on who might that be?
This stage reminded me of laportes win last yr

So cool, your review on Ketones should be the focus and highlight for this company. For LA to suggest the peloton is all about it is just plain dumb.
You didn't need to apologize. People and their favorites get dumb. Jonas was not the story of yesterdays stage. Motorola DUH? Radios.
What kind of financial penalties does a team that hasn't won a stage pay?
All the pdcasts and GCN guys are doing the same.
You guys don't have to clear the air about anything. You both are great. The big story WAS as you said T.P.s drop off.
Stop making excuses for Pogacar
No need to back pedal and apologize about Jonas. We all know that performance wasn’t on pane agua. Pal normal !
