I especially love how Victor Campenaerts did a second sprint, after blowing, just in front of the bunch sprint to present himself as road furniture... Today he made the brakeaway win... He's the hero the world tour needs so desperately!
That hero-pull from Campenaerts - pure CLASS! 🤩
Plus, after he blew, he stayed in the middle of the road to disrupt the peloton. It's the little things...
@@charliedillon1400 Yes - that was an amazing, true to the butterfly effect, little extra nail in the sprinters' "coffins" 😆
Was so happy when he pulled so hard and stayed in the middle. Only thing is his teammate eekhorn did not win but hopefully asgreen buys him a beer.
🦸👊🦋
Kasper Asgreen also owes a big thank you to MY MAN for the lead out :)
My Man Victor Campenaerts made SURE the break did NOT get caught! Hero status 💯! My legs got crampy just watching that last pull. EPIC
1st
"My man Victor Campenaerts!" He did hella work today.
👍
Just practicing for a 1 Hour TT
Yes he did. MY Man Vic never disappoints. 😂👊🔥 🏆👊🦋🦋🦋👊👊🦋🦋🦋👊🦋🦋👊👊
@@ChrisHornerCycling Btw, Wout's new son is named Jerome. In the Belgian cartoon strip 'Suske & Wiske', Jerome is the 'muscleman'; the power! Nobody messes with him!

Great analysis of stage 18! Watching Jasper push another rider around like that without any penalty was just crazy! So much talent yet he will be remembered for his poor sportsmanship! Always look forward to your break downs of every stage!!
Jasper races like it’s the old days out there when the cameras can’t see anything. 😬😳🦋
I’ll remember his four stage wins.
3 of those were more dirty than my socks after a 5 hour mud ride. The guy will be remembered by his recklessness and arrogance.
@@peterzemanovic2038 or his 4 stage wins.
@@cincydooley jasper who? 🤣🤣🤣
If Victor doesn't get the most combative award for the whole Tour, then it's a travesty!
My man, Victor Campernants!
Campernants = Modern Day Rik Van Looy- Quadzilla
Dude was animated the whole Tour, kind of like Gee was in Giro.
True that 👊🦋
Love a breakaway win this way
Chris , Nobody does it better, Horner. Absolutely entertaining and informative.
Marvelous analysis Chris, as always!🙌 Can't stop laughing about Alaphilippe going alone into an elevador 😂
"My man, Victor Campenaerts!" I love it. Great work Chris!
As I was watching Victor "My Man!" pull for all he was worth that last K I was visualizing C. H. jumping up and down on the Chesterfield!😜
I was going crazy. Hehehe 👊🦋💪😜
I was yelling “MY MAN VICTOR CAMPERNAUTZ!!!” at the tv from the Chesterfield this morning. Thank you Chris Horner for making cycling so much more enjoyable to watch! 🫶🏻
Hahaha! Same!
Jasper Philipsens said his action wasnt arrogance however it was completely nothing but arrogance.
I am glad the breakaway won!
Makes me hope Jasper does NOT win on the Champs d'Elysee!
Me too. I love that. Sure Eenkhorn was laughing after the stage was finished. 😂👊🦋
Since when wanting to win everything is arrogance?
He is a sprinter and that's is what a successful sprinter does:
WINNING SPRINTS
@@JohnDoe-kg6gy Blocking the path for other riders and when Eenkhorn squeezes past on the side, he somehow felt the need to chase him to "have a chat" and cut Eenkhorns path of not once but twice.
that is ARROGANCE.
Also I have no idea what you are going on about sprints for....
@@JohnDoe-kg6gy You either didn't watch the stage or have no idea what you're on about 🤡
Your man Victor Campenaerts denies the sprinters and everyone else. Great finish by Kasper with a little help from his friend,
Julian the troublemaker! Great fun when the breakaway wins a close one.
True that. Fantastic finish. 👊🦋
Victor CampingNuts was on fire today!
He’s always on fire 🔥 😂😜🦋💪👊
@@ChrisHornerCycling That's why he's your man! 😀💯
Victor is on fire again today!!!
Chris, i need a "My man Victor Campenaerts" t shirt!!!
Totally 😂👊🦋
Not only do you give us fantastic analyses of the races, but also top-notch entertainment!
I've waited all day to hear you say "My man, mister Viktah Campenahts!"
👊🦋😂
Great to see the break stay away to the line for once👏
Lots of love for Victor…the last 1km to the line was brilliant.
Today I finally understood why Campanaerts is your man.
Great to see Chaos Agent Alaphilipe disrupting the chase instead of the break for a change.
Haha, so now we have MMVC and CAA as butterfly acronyms 😂
Our man big Vic C! He has had me “My man” this whole tour!
Right. Chances of him winning anything is so small, yet barely a stage passes without him showing up and doing something crazy that’s highly entertaining. 😜👊🦋
Wout did the right thing today by going home to his wife. Family is everything.
It's impressive he showed up and battled until his man basically clinched the win.
Love that breakaway made it and what Campernaets did on that final pull. Asgreen needs to buy him a beer. Tomorrow is desperation time as many teams have nothing to show.
My Man VC!
😂👊🦋
Love it. I watched the race this morning and you still manage to have me at the edge of my seat here.
Thanks. Today had all kinds of gems throughout the stage that when they were put together really made the race special. 👊💪🙏
🦋
So happy to see the break survive! That was fun.
I love it when the break away wins! Our man Victor had an awesome day
And as for Jasper and his bullying, other riders was pretty pathetic. I loved what Lotto did! And it paid off!
Jaspers 4 wins went to his head!!
Uno X had a great day also, along with lotto! I really liked this stage.
I was so into this stage I did 30 miles on the trainer.
Great job Chris!! I thought they should have done something to Jasper!
I had Cipo once all up set at me my first or second year in Europe. I looked up at him (he’s much bigger then me ;) and said, I’m still not going to work with you and your guys and then smiled and sat on. There’s always someone trying to bully some one else out there so they can get you to do something that helps them. 😬🦋👍
I thought Julian was masterclaass. Disrupting the chase tactically even getting into some spats. You know that had to throw the rhythm off and buy the break another 5-10 seconds to survive.
If i was Pascal i would make it my lifes side mission in my cycling career to annoy and make life harder for Jasper anytime the paths cross. Its petty i know but that really pissed me off! lol
Petty revenge is the best revenge. I’d do the same, try to box him in on every sprint stage.
I would have looked over at Jasper and said directly, you better watch out when we near the finish line of every sprint stage that’s left here. 🤔🦋😬
The Knucklehead count should be strong today. I'm going for 12 shouts.
😂👊🦋
I don't generally enjoy sprint stages, but this one was different, and it was fantastic.
Same 👍
Jasper the "karen" of the peloton doesn't want attacks, he wants to crash you out on the finish line!!
Spot on Jimmy😂
LOL
Agreed. Philipsen is wholly unlikeable. Worst Green Jersey in years... Wouldn't feel bad if someone wiped him out...
I just don’t understand his behavior this tour.
That idiot thought he won that one stage last year when Wout VA flew to the breakaway finish like a hawk
Wow, Chris, there was a lot more to that race than I realized watching it live. Thank you for this incredible insight. Learned a lot and laughed a bunch too!
It was hilarious when GCN interviewed the DS of Alpecin in the car a few minutes after the incident and he pretended that they could not see the feed of the incident because of a tree. The GCN guys were cracking up and so was I 😂.
AFAIR he said he has no TV in the car 😂 right. 😅
Thanks for your full coverage! Worth the wait.
When I watched the race I thought. I might be done quickly with todays video. Then I went back to get all the photos and catch some the “little details” of the race. By time I was have way I knew it’s want going to be a short video. Today was one of those few days where waiting to hear the interviews after the race was so worth it. 😂👊🦋
I am never going to be able to hear victor campernaerts name without mentally adding “my man” 😂
"Trek Segafredo"?! 😉😆
I can't get over Your Man Victor! 😳
I swear I watched the last few km with my jaw on the floor. This is certainly the Tour that just keeps giving!
And giving. Right. Victor is always entertaining. My Man 😂 🔥🦋👊
One word for Victor‘s performance: Heroic. 🤯
Your commentary is just as entertaining as watching the stage :)
Alaphilippe: Genius tactical interception for the sake of his team.
Philipsen: Petulant and bully tactics that won't win him a stage or any fan love.
Completely agree. Jala was disruptive without being dangerous, was a thing of beauty to watch, working to stay at the front for over 20km. JP’s actions should have at the least been sanctioned, disgusting behaviour.
Julian was the last bit of help those four needed to make it work. 👊🦋
@@gettysb19lolololol
@chris you have called Victor ‘Ma Man’ from the very outset and now we got to see why, his role was epic as was your critical view of peleton, Alpeciene and MVP. Julians role-play deserved to be highlighted as you did and the last bit on travel advisory 😂was hilarious 😂What an outstanding video , we cant Thank You enough
So why EXACTLY is Victor Campenauts (one of the astronauts) his man? And how come he never mentions he's a former world 1-hr record holder?
Fantastic review of the stage. Your love of the sport is contagious and obvious. Hell yeah.
Great win by the great dane!!! He's finally back.
Looking forward to next years classics.
Jasper NO penalty? WTF ASO???
Really loved this stage! Personally thought Eenkhoorn played the biggest role in this stage, imo the breakaway was dying a slow death until he came across and started pulling really big in front as well, gave the breakaway the spice it needed! But also, a lot of respect for mah man, he worked extremely hard and also brought Eenkhoorn to the front, really loved the efforts of lotto destiny
Chris, does Victor know he is your man? 🤣🤣🤣
Gotta give the Soudal Wolfpack some credit here with Alaphilippe and Declercq causing chaos in the peloton. Quality win for Quickstep, even though it wasn’t with Alaphilippe like I thought it needed to be.
Guys, from an old man who hasn’t completed since the ABLofA days, Chris is doing a great job
👊🦋
Alaphilippe is so awesome, and such a prick. He had his mouth runnin all day! I love it, man!
As exciting as this years TDF has been, the only thing lacking has been the in-studio analysis… Chris breaking down the strategy of each stage is the energy that’s been missing… btw, 10 more meters, I think Philipsen pulls into the top 3… 🍻
To be honest, I now watch the ad free(!!!) world feed and those guys (Ant and Nico) are very good, with Nico having similar experience to Chris and generally similar takes to him too 👍 And then I wait for the 🦋 effect!
👊🦋
Don’t give peacock and NBC your money. Give it to GCN. Did that immediately after Horner got dropped.
@@gobears6487same! I can't deal with the commercials, and we just don't get to hear enough Christian Vande Velde when he's on the moto.
@@wildly_heather plus Nico is the nearest thing to Chris during the race (similar experience with similar tactical opinions and knowledge) 👍 with the no ads bonus!
Cycling journalism hall of fame level content. The descriptions of the battles within the stage, the long pulls etc made my legs hurt.
Thanks. 🙏🦋👊🚲
Best stage
And...And...best analysis on this year's TDF...
Today was a fun stage. So much happened that you just normally don’t get on a flat sprinter stage. When the stage finishes I thought, this going to a good video. 👊🦋🔥
Great analysis! This makes the race more exciting!
Victor is a class act. I was very glad to see him teach the Peloton Breakaway class 101.
Thanks for your coverage, Chris!
From Deviation to straight up Intimidation. What a Disaster.
Best analysis again. Simple as.
the peleton will make sure Julian Alaphillipe doesn't win stages 19 or 20, but as a teammate he did the right thing
PelOton
The peloton will do no such thing, Julian is very capable of riding too hard and blowing himself up, thank you very much.
In reality no one will actually do anything about it, because if the situation were reversed they would've done the same thing.
@@N2theLAS I have rarely seen someone being so obnoxious about it, I guarantee you that he won't win a stage In the final 3 stages, he's nowhere near his best level anymore
@@BronnyJamesBricks True, he might not win any of the final 3 stages, but it won't be because the peloton holds a grudge against him, it will be just like you said, because he's nowhere near his best.
Asgreen is buying every time they go out together. 😂👊🦋🍻
If you listen to Mørkøvs interview, you'll hear that he knew what was possible and what was going down.
He's been in the game for so long, he's not the strongest or fastest perhaps, but like Tim says, he knows what to do in an ever changing peleton!
4:27 “My maaaaaan VICTOR CAMPANAERTS!!!!!!”
Had to watch CH tonight for the mention while I’m on my chesterfield!! 😂
What a thrilling finish!
Best video so far Chris
👍Great job Julian👍🐺🐺🐺
Always look forward to the Butterfly Effect on a day when MMVC plays a big role. Loved seeing him out there doing his thing - he's been a joy to watch this TdF.
Surprised to hear more about JA than JP antics on the stage. I was pretty pleased to see MMVC playing such a big part of keeping JP from a 5th cake after JP's mid-stage antics.
That acronym is 👌🏻
MMVC
@@goondu86glad you like it. I felt like he has reached letters stature like WVA MVDP et al
Jasper the Disaster is a well deserved nickname
True that 🦋👊
Great to have Kasper won!
Team work makes the dream work. 😜👊🦋💪🐺
What a beautiful ride by "my man, Victor Campanaert" . Absolutely 💯 great he denied jp a chance for a win.
👊🦋
One of the commentators said that victor is “about as bright as a tunnel” when he went back for his teammate. Happy that the main man got his revenge! (Nearly)
The winner is the first man to attack at km Zero ! 😱
Kasper was good today. 👊🦋💪
Great commentary with great humour. 😂
Chris is savage with these knockleheads.
I’m not ever going to be able to show my mug again at European bike race. 😂😂😂😂🦋👊🚲
Such a strong ride by Campenaerts! And what a dedication to his fellow rider at the end of the race. And what a chaos caused by Allaphilipe (and Declerq)! This was a pure delight to watch! And no victory for Jasper the Disaster...😛
Your simply the best
CH: Thanks for making an already fantastic TDF, even better! *From the foot of the Matterhorn. 🦋
I"d never seen Alaphilippe and the role he played, if not for your analysis.
Excellent!
You are doing this in a magical way. A lot of details i was not able to see and enough dose of humor.
Wow, a lot going on in this stage! Thank you for the excellent and in depth explanations!!
I said to my wife as the video started, "wonder if my boy Victor is still in the race?" Great video, Excellent stage.
Great riding by QS in the peloton to disrupt the chase back!
Great analysis. Spot on with Victor. He's such a cool guy. I love Phillipsen but he was outta line there that's for sure.
Something is bugging that guy this tour - some of his actions are outrageous. He's a very talented sprinter but must be losing the respect of many who ride with him and who will get their opportunity 'not to help him'.
Campenaerts is at it again!!! 👊🏽💪🏽🤣
Good breakdown Chris. You had me cracking up calling out the knuckleheads. And how come Jasper keeps pushing and shoving folks around without repercussions? Like are they just not concerned about his actions. And you gotta love Alaphillipe giving them lip. Hahahaa. Check you aging tomorrow and thanks for the hilarious breakdown.
Christttt..! Waiting for your today video ..! Etapa 19..! In Miami is 10:30pm..! 😄
Not only did "Your MAN" Victor churn through that awesome leadout, but did you catch that he peeled off to the right barriers, then when his three banditos passed him, he pedaled back into the middle, somewhat forcing Jasper P to deviate left?
What a subtle "payback"(!) to Philipsen, and a brilliant tactic to ensure a breakaway victory.
🎉😂😂🎉
Nearly 180 km iron man TT today ! 😳
They were going big today. Gun fires and those guys were off and running. 👊🦋🔥
Campernaerts is a true ambassador for the sport. 100% passion. Shame that him and enkhoorn didn't pull it off, but what a masterclass from Asgreen! He kept his cool just like in flanders. That guy Abrahamsen is a tour stage winner in the making! Im sure that we will see more from him in the coming years.
The concluding video of the DS was funny 😂
Camper Victornauets is my man!!!
👊🦋😂
Don't rule out Krists Neilandts for the Most Combative award... even if you're all screaming MY MAN VICTOR CAMPENAERTS! :D
You guys should have seen the danish and norvegian commenators in the box... lol!
Michael Mørkøv in the postrace interview said, that at 50 K to go, all the sprinterteams started blowing up so he knew then that the breakaway stood a decent chance. This is what the third week does!
Not to take anything away from Victor, but Asgreen actually did most of the pulling throughout the day, percentage-wise. He thanked all 3 breakaway-riders too. Class rider!
Laughed with you at the Soudal-Quickstep shenanigans at at the Bunch-Badgering! :P Awesome analysis as ever, Chris! 🤜to you son, too, awesome editing and end-screen/outro, still laughing! 😂
Chris, any chance you could snag an interview with our man Victor. Just wondering ,because like you, i am a big fan. Cheers.
Would love to see that on Beyond the Coverage!
I thought the warnings on the Shampoo bottle said do not ingest. Total Knuckleheads today at Alpecin-Deceuninck
On Danish TV, Asgreen said the breakaway riders didn't exchange a word. Makes their combined TTT the more impressive. No words needed.
In an interview with campenaerts only words said between Campenaerts and eenkhoorn. Niet snokken ( Don't accellerate pulling ) and Pascal, you will do the sprint ( at 10k out ).
When I saw the breakaway win I knew you had been cheering for "your man VC" Congratulations. I loved to see them holding the Peloton.
Awesome distinction between MM and MVDP spit on.
Great analysis as always, and always much better then other cycling channels on YT hosted by people who have never turned a pedal in anger.
Keepin' it real. Chris your skill as a tactical analyzer is on par with the late John Madden ( RIP) from the NFL.
You know all the strategies and the though processes going through a riders head.
Very exciting stuff. At the finish the Peloton had to be going close to 45 mph. Unreal.
Great Job, again
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thumbs up to Lotto's Victor and Pascal. Agree with Horner's verdict on the green jersey turning ...
Hey @chrishorner , can you please tell us what’s happening to Intermarche and Girmay?????
You also have to appreciate the tactic of the breakaway by constantly staying in affordable distance from the peleton, not too far away to look like a threat and not too close as it would be useless... just enough distance to potentially lure other mavericks from the peleton to come join them.
liked and subscribed! I hope Allaphilipe is safe and sound, hahahaha.
Campenaerts just practicing for another Hour World Record try. (and get invites to a couple criteriums).
During the TT was training power at slow RPM’s on. The climb and today he was training power at fast RPM’s for 185k. I love this dude. Non stop entertainment. 😂👊🦋❤️
