My teacher just gave us a homework paper where "What is the slope?" and "Write this in slope-intercept format." are questions without actually teaching us how to do it first. Thanks a lot. This will hopefully help me not fail (and if not, at least I have an _idea_ now)

@agonizedfever, easiest way to remember rise/run or you can say (up and over to make it easier and not confusing). Numerator will always go up, then if see negative sign anywhere with the slope then your run will be going to the left. If not then run will be to the right. Trust me, the line on you graph will still be the same. I hope this explain a little....

y- intercept is a point where your graph intersects at y- axis. and x- intercept, is a point where your graph intersects at x- axis. she's just explaining the other terms to use in intercepts so that we could understand further the concept of slopes and intercepts...
