This tutorial shows how to find the X intercept and Y intercept of a line. Once the X and Y intercepts of a line are found, they are used to sketch the line on the X Y coordinate system.

Probably never if you life a basic life. The reason school teaches this is because things like this are required if we want to advance as species. If we simply never learn it because "we will never use it in everyday life" then everyone will become stupid and nobody will understand how the world works and we will never advance. y=2x-4
You simply start at -4, and then go put the 2 over 1
Then you go up 2 times and across 1 time until you reached the x axis

the reciprocal of 2 is -1/2..........multiply that by the y intercept and there's your x intercept. The easiest way

Think of it like this. You're 14, you have the next 4 years in school to practice practice practice, then by the time you graduate high school, you'll be a pro at it and you'll be able to teach others how to do this stuff. But you have to start practicing now and don't stop. Keep learning it until it becomes second nature.
