Great Video! I have a quick question, I have a 2014 Focus, that I just replaced the shift actuators, and with them...the clutch, now I need to program the TCM...my local dealership cant get me in untill over a month from now...I was looking at purchasing a J2534 Box and getting a 2 day subscription to fords FJDS (its like 50 bcks), will I be able to program my TCM that way? (I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade...so this will be just another tool for the box..)
Very informative, I have a 2014 Focus with a TCM malfunction, I was going to replace the TCM if I can find one. If the TCM is not a blank module is there a different process to reprogram the TCM or is this something that can not happen?
Adding more details than needed incase this is helpful for others. I replaced the TCM on my 2011 Fiesta with a TCM from a 2012 Focus. Before replacing it, the car had a difficult time moving forward and would not reverse at all. It was throwing a “clutch B stuck” error. Swapping the two (A and B) actuators resulted in the exact same issue. After installing the replacement TCM the vehicle still starts, but the physical gear shift is stuck in park. It is also throwing “lost communication with TCM” errors now. I planned to use the ForScan freeware (unfortunate name) to run through TCM Adaptive Learning. But I’m unable to since the car is stuck in park. Manually releasing the park lock doesn’t sound like the right call to me. Does it sound to you like I just need to have Ford flash my TCM? I appreciate the video by the way. Very informative.
@@FLOGGNAW4sorry for the slow response. I was able to get my Fiesta up and running again. The solution was to purchase a Fiesta TCM rather than a Focus one. I found a used Fiesta TCM on eBay with the same serial number as my old one. I installed it and it worked immediately without the need to flash it. I believe the ForScan app was able to detect it too and flash it if needed. Edit: It’s worth noting that Ford has since been forced to offer an extended-extended warranty on transmission issues. They’ll replace the TCM now for an extended mileage and an extended number of years. I don’t recall the details exactly. Additional edit: I spoke with ford who initially told me that a focus TCM should work in a fiesta. After having issues, I called them back and spoke with another individual who informed me that he had experienced nothing but issues trying to do that and recommended only using a Fiesta TCM.
Doing this right now but ids keeps saying unable to find the information on the network. Gives me the option to find the file online but then does nothing and goes right to the pcm program section. Previous tcm was dead with no comm so unable to pull the file off the old one. Any suggestions?
Info for the viewers....on a 2012 Focus that I had, FJDS did not have an option for the Dual Clutch 4 step process....after programming and updates, I used Forscan and also you can use newer Autels...I used the MS909 👍
Was curious on this process using IDS. Thanks for taking the time to share!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks you for sharing your knowledge. Where can I get the software and the tools to connect it with the car?
Pay big money like us pros do. Just take it to a shop. It's cheaper.

Yes. You should be able to

Any update on what you had to do?
Take it to a pro.

Great info. Thanks
Do you recall what USB adapter you used with FJDS?
@@InterestingTed I was using a VCM 3 from Motorcraft 👍
Where did you get this programmer from & what’s the name?
Br a pro. It's IDS or FJDS
