At least they fixed the Visual Bug with new Free Creation Club "When Pigs Fly." Because that was my main problem and havent even started brand new game yet its always good to wait until it was tested because even after watching Oxhorn review on the new creation club he forgot to mention the bug visual problem reports with console but to be fair he plays Fallout 4 on PC.

Why are modders 100x better and more competent than actual AAA Devs?
No one kills modders creativity and talents, what Bugsthesda does to their devs. Take in consideration that they're also less devs working on FO4 since Bethesda is more focused on Starfield right now.
Because of this Why did you try to mod your game on console which is the worst mistake you've ever did only PC Fallout 4 can used so many mods and has more storage if you want to use mod buy a decent computer and install steam buy the game and voila you got a blank slate FO4 ready to get modded up to 400++ modlists

PS5 version hard crashes my system requiring removing power, PS4 version has errors I've never seen before like black textures instead of "illuminated" weapons in crafting stations, still better than the magenta texture prior to the update.
Why bother with Playstation anyways, they LITERALLY pulled HellDivers 2 from Steam and EGS because they were lobbied more?!

Fixes for the bugs for the fixes for the bugs... Ad nauseum.
It still frustrates me beyond belief that we can’t get more than 2 GB of mod storage on Xbox, a console owned by Bethesda’s parent company. They said the reason was that it would break mods but they’ve already done that twice.

This game is almost a decade old, has very low res textures everywhere, and it still needs a "performance" mode for latest gen consoles?!

@@xandroy1273 Because the DDS files are compressed, unlike the official Bethesda files which might be or might not be, they might also just lack the normal maps or detail maps for particular textures that haven't been fixed since launch.
There are quests on Xbox/PS like "Emogene Takes a Love" that are bugged and Bethesda hasn't bothered to patch them despite Fallout being several years old.
Sad to say, FO4 was released 9 years ago, almost a full decade lol feel a little older yet?

There are quests on the pc like the followers quest that are bugged and interplay hasn’t bothered to patch them despite fallout coming out in the 90s

Just add to the MOD CAP ALREADY!! you already f@ked console twice. Might as well try to make the updates worth more than a f@king fps slider. If performance and visuals get you interested in Beth games, do yourself a favor and don't play any. Mass effect and Witcher 2 have better graphics.
Bethesda is actually Vault-Tec in our reality. Ya see, the ole broken quest ignored, the fixes brining more bugs, it's all just an experiment.

Honestly, I was not very surprised when I heard that Bethesda failed to patch the bugs in their game. However, I was surprised that they even attempted to patch them in the first place. It seemed like just another marketing scheme to take advantage of the show's popularity and entice people to buy the game or use the Creation Club.
The best is CD Project - they release game that works totally fine and then break it later with patches. 😀
Ofc they fail to patch any bugs if they have no way of getting any crash reports as they removed anything that could make a crash log from the game. You cant fix you got no proof of happened. You literally need a mod to be able to debug the game in the first place.

Wasting so much time like this just for something as trivial as 60fps/visuals/performance for console users, fumbling the bag on not releasing it right and forgetting that the reason they're not increasing 2gb limit for mods on console being that it would disrupt mods yet disrupting multiple times anyway is extreme incompetence.

well it was need, on Xbox one going to down town was 100% it will crash and FPS would drop real bad and then crash so it was needed as you were not able to go there at all.

At this point, I'll create my own Fallout 5, 6 or 7 with FO4 and the modding community. Never in a thousand years would've I ever imagine fixing my own game because the devs can't. Thank you Bethesda, you guys have done enough.

People have been trying to make Fallout games (Fallout London for example), but Bethesda keeps breaking the game.

There's a downgrader on PC that'll revert you to pre-update status. All mods that worked will still work. It's what I did.
You could also turn off auto update and avoid having to rollback your game.

My wife was super excited to go back to her playthrough after we watched the show - she’s spent literally thousands of hours in her game, building bases and her vault, done almost every quest…only to find that update broke her entire game. I figured it would but I didn’t want to crush her excitement, but yup as soon as she logged in half of her settlements were broken and missing stuff. Bethesda makes it really hard to love Bethesda games.
Year 2015 bugs still present. Sweet update indeed!
Man of my sure glad that I downloaded an older version of the game from the steam console and locked steams online access to the app data so they can never update it
How to you lock steams access to app data? And what are the cons to doing that?
@@JosephLachhnexusmods has a mod/guide where you swap out a steam file for a custom one that tells steam its already updated. Pros: fallout dont update.

You can just save a backup of the original file in case you want to update. Search "update" on NM, change "All time" to "30 days" on the filter and the mod should pop up

These prevalent issues are not just Bethesda's laziness/incompetence, they also show just how much of Fallout 4's coding is held together by duct tape, baling wire and happy thoughts.
3:30 FallUI is what I used to get ultrawide working pre-next-gen update, just move all the hud pieces to the correct spots
I play on PS5, and up until todays update I had zero issues with my new playthrough. Now i have rubber banding in areas, and screen drift....
The area just beyond DC where the Super mutants have their base, and the ghoul brigade is two alleyways to the left? that place always had rubber banding on consoles, PS4/5 and Xbox One...
I haven't experienced that, yet.
I’m suddenly getting a much buggier experience on PC - HUD disappearing, bugs getting into power armour, not being able to sleep or fast travel…
For me, it’s the comp1gnons dropping dead (permanently) at random.
Part of me wonders why they bothered in the first place? They opened up a can of worms, highlighted incompetence, created more work and disrupted the modding community. The only upside I can see is that with enough attention and noise, I think they'll fix it over time to improve their reputation. Cyberpunk is a great example of turning around an angry mob to being an acclaimed game that will be remembered in that light.

This update was only realised to break the new huge overhale release of Fallout London by the Nexus community.
they literally released the update the day after the release of Fallout London.
Its funny how the Unofficial FO4 patch doesn't breaking all the mods.

I think the problem is they focused on the console versions and forgot the PC.
I don't think there is anything wrong with making an update specifically for next gen console but why they have to force that on PC is a mystery to me.

@@lucagerulat307I don’t know, but I have feeling it’s because Fallout 4 or any Fallout game is specifically made for only consoles. Like there are reasons why games like New Vegas crashes a lot in PC (without mods) but performs well in the Xbox. So in a matter is speaking, Fallout 4 is more of a game for consoles than PC. Maybe that’s why Bethesda has problems on stuff related to PC.

I had used the vats glitch on xbox to complete the vault 81 quest without being bitten by any mole rats because I knew where they all were. Honestly kinda fun being able to see enemies underground from quite a ways away

I hate that stupid mole rat disease, I don't want to start over to fix it, though. I'd play my modded playthrough, which is at the same end game stage as my unmodded playthrough, but they broke the freaking mods, and I had one that got rid of that stupid mole rat disease. And I really don't want to start over.
I’m on ps5 the issue isn’t just for two shot weapons or vats, I aim down the sights, or through a scope, shoot and damage won’t register. Also enemies will have like 1% health and won’t die no matter how much you attack, for like 10 seconds then they just randomly die lol
Could be worse, my compagnons keep spontaneously die and teleport kilometers aways since the update (or are already dead when I meet them for the first time)
I'm glad that at least they're doing something, even almost 10 years later. However one thing that ticked me off was that they pushed the fact that it was a "FREE UPDATE" but actually it's mostly just below the bare minimum bug fixes etc. Still no FOV slider... Luckily on PC I can use the console, it makes the game instantly better
don't forget you can specify 1st and 3rd person FOV if you input both values
On Steam Deck you can’t even enjoy the update because you can’t access the launcher to change the settings. Garbo.
Thanks to you I don't need the update I've patched the game so it thinks it's on the latest version & used the BA2 patch I've then downloaded in game the creation club remnants the weapons (basically all creation club given in the nex gen update minus any skins) then I removed the BA2 patch as it made my game crash....
So all the new content I wanted on the older game version and it will not ask to update

They should add a resolution option as well. So I can choose 1080p or 1440p with 60 or 50 fps on PS5. Would be good enough for me.
My Xbox updated F4 this morning. So far no issues. It hasn't broken any of my mods yet (that happened last time). I am finally able to see some of the newer weapons such as the baseball launcher and the Chinese granade launcher as I hold them. The game seems to feel a bit smoother too. Yep, so far so good. I like how I can pick up any baseballs after I fire a few volleys.
Thank you for this update! And I *really* appreciate the confirmation that VATS is not as reliable now. I've been missing so many shots in VATS that I *swear* should work. I really hope they fix that.
This is just my assumption but I don't think Bethesda actually can fix the ultrawide problem. The modder fixed it because they just replaced the ui files with ultrawide versions. Meaning those files would then be broken for normal 16:9 users. Bethesda can't make another set of these ui files and allow the ability to swap between the 2 sets without quite a lot of engine changes. Really sad but a also a very real possibility.
Get ready for ES6 to be based off of Morrowind's reskin of NetImmerse with 25 years of Bethesda bolt-ons, are you all as excited as I am?
They could but it would take more effort and investment than they want to put into this project. All their games since Morrowind were a careful balance of minimum effort / maximum profit.
I wish they would add that setting menu in the PC version. Tell it to prioritize 60 fps.
I believe you can do something similar through the Nvidia App (formerly Geforce Experience).
Assuming you have a 60 fps monitor just turn on vsync and it should do it.

I’m so glad you made this video. I was not informed of all these glitches on Xbox. Thought that’s how VATS was supposed to work.
Reminder that both FSE and MCM (Fallout script extender & Mod Configuration Menu) have been updated for the latest patch. You have to uninstall the old versions, and install the new versions of both.
Some things won't be supported until individual mod creators update their mods. But I am happy to see a lot of the mods on my load order are working fine.
One thing I am wondering is, why are PC players forced to use the latest version when almost nothing was changed for PC?
Once launched the update gave me a pop-up about them adding new apparel, weapons, and WORKSHOPS. As in settlement workshops OR just workshop items? What's the scoop?
Unrelated I appear to get a steady 72 FPS on my PC with ultra everything (according to the Auto Detect they have anyway). Some hitching here and there though.
I'm on PS5 and I got the same pop up. No one seems to be talking about this I have no idea what they added. God forbid if they actually did add anything at this point, I could see that pop up as just an advertisement for what they already did add.
I'm no expert but it looks to me like they added a few free things from creation club by default. There are other free things in there that you can choose to add too, and then you can see that some already were.
A BGS patch that broke everything? Shocked, shocked I say!
So with Auto HDR, it is stated to not support current gen titles, as it's only a backcompat feature.
We first heard of a current gen upgraded title getting it, which was Control, no title since had done it. This is now the second.
I don't know if there is extra head room for some of these upgraded titles, so where Microsoft will allow the dev to turn it on.
There is also a downside, you can't turn it off if you don't like the auto HDR. As that toggle option isn't visible like it is for backcompat titles.
Also before anyone says "but Skyrim", that is only a gen 9 aware title, it isn't a native upgrade.
I saw a mod that mentioned the “this operation could not be completed” was due to broken pictures. So if you hit download before the picture loads, you should be fine. Hope this helps people!

I loved the fact the Makeshit weapons Pack sometimes makes some Minutemen Spawn with the Weapons. It's have Minutmen spawn with the Granade Launcher and other weapons too. Btw I'm an Xbox player and I only have all the Fallout 4 dlcs and some Creation club content.
The mod author for ultra wide coming back to update once more is absolutely amazing. What a beast.
Just finished a New Vegas play after like 13 years, and now finally ready to jump into 60 fps Fallout 4 on PS5 (never thought it'd come) for a month until Elden Ring DLC comes along.
Same mate, really looking forward to that Elden Ring DLC and this helps ease the wait!

I was wondering why I kept missing the first shot of my Overseer’s Guardian. It was like almost every time despite having like 95% accuracy and nothing obstructing my shot

Happy to know they fixed the issue with the Charlestown Condo… however I’m still having trouble getting Barney at the Rook Family Home to spawn, each time I visit he isn’t there and I can’t collect the last magazine from his basement.
NGL, I kinda like being able to see enemies through walls in VATS. It's allowed me to legendary farm a lot easier knowing which targets I need to focus on before triggering any encounters.
Can't boot the game after the update. Virus protection was having a fit and had to both reinstall the game AND give permissions. Again. Two re-installs later, I still can't play on PC.
Now I'm afraid to try Starfield.

Vats and Ultrawide will definitely be fixed in the future, they said they have a couple more updates planned, i imagine call small stuff like bug fixes but still.
The main problem I am having still is when I try to do/finish the anti-material cc missions, cannot do certain main quest and railroad quests without it just crashing

I've never played a Bethesda Fallout game using VATS to shoot anything, except maybe a couple times (after hundreds of hours). I use the system for "discovery" all the time, but switch to live shooting when actually shooting, especially in F4.
Same here, I don't like leaving my shot placement up to chance when I know I can hit where I'm aiming
Last time i played Fallout 4 (many years ago) i remembered you couldn't save the railroad and the brotherhood, technically you could but Kells would always bother you about dealing with the railroad whenever you talked to him. I noticed Kells doesn't bother me about the railroad now, i guess that's something Bethesda tweaked with next gen update.
I know we all have been fed up with BGS and their lack of quality for a while now, but how long do you all suspect it will take before John and Jane Doe who are much more casual about all this and don't follow the news get fed up? How long until fixes like this, which are constantly dwarfed in comparison by their competitors, just won't cut it for the guys and gals who buy 1 to 3 games a year and don't want to bother with this?
BGS being seen more and more as the devs who regularly ship buggy or lacking games is not something that's snuck up on them, and I don't get why they aren't treating this more seriously. Is leadership over there REALLY that clueless or unwilling to admit they have a problem?
I will say that it's quite cathartic to see PC players, who have been telling me that my issues on Console are "my own fault" and that I should "just switch to PC", finally get the short end of the stick.
Der Bergfried ist immer der höchste Turm, meistens auch gut höher und breiter. 2x so hoch und 3x so breit wie ein normaler Turm ungefähr. Im Bergfried war oft viel wohnraum. Ausserdem fänd ich es noch toll wenn die Burg auch trotz der film crew, noch die Ausstattung für normalen tourismus hätte. Da die Anlage ja nur für den Film oder was genutzt wird. Also ein Ticket haus, vielleicht eine kleine holzbox? und ein paar schilder und infotafeln. aber im Filmbereich dann halt verdeckt oder abgebaut, umgeräumt. hoffe man verstehts! tolles Video!

With how many times they keep breaking the game, I see absolutely 0 excuses to not increase mod support on consoles, especially if they are gonna rely on modders to fix their game for them
I really wish Bethesda would relinquish intellectual ownership of the Fallout games into the public domain.
I wish they would revive the old devs and return the rights to them... or just pitch ideas to the modding team and give them an official studio to give more credit too while the modders make the actual game since they fix so much of what bethesda breaks just by touching...
I would not mind freedom for anyone to create some Fallout games. Honestly, it's simply anticompetitive, whereas we could otherwise encourage the market to produce the best to capitalise from approval of fans to make money.
Actually, intellectual property laws as they stand were a mistake and do not encourage innovation whatsoever.
There are still some visual issues from what I have noticed like particle glitches and reflections in some areas
Nuka World looked totally borked with green bushes and missing wallpapers and floors, luckily that’s fixed now along with the billboards.
I’m pretty sure the vats bug is affecting blitz too, causing it to fail a LOT

Good to see that it didn’t fix the bugs that the next update (« steam deck verified »)caused on steam deck.
Everything work perfectly before, now i cant change the launch settings, if i use a launch option to fix that, then using the virtual keyboard instantly crashes the game.
when i tried to play next gen on series s i had game crash like 3 to 4 times reandomly while trying to save or navigate menues in game

The 60 FPS+Visuals mode on PS5 seems to make VATS stutter a lot

Series S user here! Visual/60fps looks great, likely a dynamic 1440p with greater details. Some slow down during cutscenes and dialogue, but gameplay seems solid.
Downtown Boston, namely around Goodneighbor/Boston Public Library/Boston Common/Faneuil Hall? How's that? that CTD'ing unless I look straight at the ground and walk during gunfights is the reason I gave up on playing on console.
When the next gen update came out I moved everything from ps4 pro to ps5, but it felt like transfer because fallout 4 didn't change xD, still crashed when loading to nuka world or far harbor and lots of other bugs like the creation club bug too, but after this update I hope that things work again:D (haven't gotten to download the update yet)

To be honest only thing i notice to be different between the visuals at 60 fps vs 30 fps aside from fps clearly, is the resolution on 60 fps is probably not 4K i would guess is 1440p but other visual settings looks exactly the same as the quality mode even on figths

My annoying ultrawide screen issue is when in Power Armor how the edges of the screen have weird bars on them like I’m looking out of a window with multiple panes of glass

It just works! (this is why I have it on GoG with updates turned off Todd and crew can't make anything that works right).

the vats thing has its upsides tho, seeing as you can hit things through walls by mashing your character against them and spamming vats
I want to know if you can craft the make shift weapons ammo yet or just keep having to go back to the guy that sells it every 2-3 in-game days
I’ve had the “the operation could not be completed” issue for mods on PC as well.
For me, on PC, the background of the menus are misaligned to the side. Is it corrected?
Did the mods on console reset again due to whatever update?.. if so i give up on the game. It corrupted my save the first time and havent been able to get the load order back to how it was.

I play Fallout VR exclusively. It was released with all kinds of issues and was a poor VR port. Bethesda has released it in 2017, gave amit one hotfix update a few weeks after release, then it was completely abandoned. I was hoping against hope that this new update would finally include the VR version, but nothing.
On PC, I just use the script extender and the high fps physics fix for load screens, we’re these affected by todays update? Any news on when they will get fixed
