I love how serious your dad takes these challenges. He's even letting us in his kitchen to work on these wonderful dishes. Great work on both your parts, and I can't wait for the next one!
Yes was absolutely awesome but at the same time if he could put a simple twist on a basic meal I think it would be better in my opinion, because that way it would actually be something that I could make at home and not have to add all these industrial ingredients that aren't readily available. A simple twist to turn a basic meal gourmet for the next one?
I'm from Windsor. Went to YorkU. When I graduated, my parents got me dinner at your dad's Restaurant. Changed my life. Worthy of being a graduation gift. What an experience. love the channel.
I think there's so much to learn from the movement of a great chef. He's so efficient and deliberate with his decisions to the point where it's almost unconscious. How he just has a feeling of when to start making the different parts so that they are done at the same time in the end... just incredible
So humble. Dude literally owns the joint and modestly asks, "Can you shove that in the oven for me?" I know they can't say no but this dude is a straight role model.
That's called having some decency, not modesty... That's a good quality to have, and this guy is great, but that's a weird reason to call him a role model 😂
@@melikmourali2072 Do you know or have you seen literally any chef in the back of a restaurant?! Or the owners of 90% of them? It's the normal that they scream and yell at all their workers. He is actually a very polite guy, ya idiot. now go run this to table 7 before I take your tips.
I logged into my Google account just so I could like and comment on this video. This might be the best cooking video I've ever seen on TH-cam. PLEASE do more cooking videos in Susur Lee's kitchen. It makes me so insanely happy to watch him think and craft. Bravo. The breaking down the macaroni and then steaming it was brilliant, alongside the Béchamel. Ahhhh! So amazing. I wish I could try it!!!
It's like watching pure magic. Thank you for making these videos and please thank your father for being so generous with his time and creativity - He is genius.
I love the at home challenges but seeing the way chef was performing in his professional kitchen was such a treat. One of my favorite videos you’ve ever made.
This is one of my greatest pleasures on TH-cam. The relationship you and your father have is something so genuine and familial. I love it. My dad lives 1200 miles away, and we are close, so every time I watch y’all it reminds me of me and my dad. Not to mention the cooking is phenomenal!!
Watching you interact with your father, witness him practice his life's mastery, and display your perspective of him through your editing; really makes me want to do something similar with my father. This should be a regular thing: son's witnessing, appreciating, and portraying their father's greatness
This guys energy makes me want to work in a kitchen again. You know when it's game time he doesn't f**k around but you know he's the type of chef to always take the time to explain something to you if you're willing to learn. I'm sure that kitchen environment is rock solid and turns out some absolutely amazing food.
Unfortunately there are WAAAY more awful kitchens to work with than great ones like these. I would love to work with/for this man, but these are hard to find.
I found Surur's sons on TH-cam because of him, so I love these. What I really admire is his love for his sons. Susur could make a good paycheck for time he spends cooking with his sons, but you can tell he enjoys the camaraderie with his sons and isn't even thinking about the business aspect. I also know there is another side to all of this, which is that he may be trying to make up time from the past, while he grew the empire that they now benefit from. I have been through, and am going through, the same type of situation.

Give that man a medal !!! He's a genius at his trade, true essence of what a chef should be, yet so humble for the amount of talent that he has, please Sir, may we have some more...?
Really appreciate Chef Susur going out of his way to let us have a peak in his kitchen and taking the time to explain his cooking process even though it was the middle of him getting ready to open his restaurant. such a cool dad! for most people, including myself, won’t have that patience to go out of their way like this when busy and in the middle of work, especially someone at such a high caliber position, it is really touching to see him despite his busy schedule, making an effort to show where and how he works for his son. maybe some might say it’s not a big deal, but it’s just not the usual norm to let your close friends or family into your work life. it was calming to watch how relaxed Chef Susur was even in a professional setting with his son and the camera on him, opening for work and easily taking on a challenge, coming up with and making, not one, but two gourmet dishes. A level of expertise that is hard to reach in any profession.
The father son dynamic between you two is what makes this channel so great. This is probably my favorite challenge. I have a fig tree in my yard, I’ll have to try roasting some.
You can really feel the love between father and son here. Thanks for the videos, i found your channel today and it brings me happiness. I kinda wish it was like that between me and my dad.

Your father is a Culinary God!!! His cooking skills are impressive. But he just dissolved noodles and then refused to use the orange powder. This is like pretending he turned water into a cake just cause he used it as an ingredient. He basically just made a gourmet meal. Nothing to do with the mac and cheese
