I've gotten the pleasure of working with the STYX crew, and Chris is an unbelievalbe man. Super humble, extremely nice, and he makes you feel comfortable working with him.
DSP is a great invention. For those who do not understand. Power amps have them and powered speakers have them is the 'brain' inside an active speaker. It takes audio information (converting it to digital format if necessary) and manipulates the ones and zeroes to achieve a desired effect. Digital audio signals are transformed into a series of pulses that correspond to patterns of binary digits (i.e., 0's and 1's).
There’s a small seating area in front for vips but a very large open seating area behind. About 15k there that night. This was a small show for them yes. But thats what made it possible to talk to them also.
I have varied systems from day to day. The end goal (tonal balance) is the same no matter the system. This system happened to be L’Acoustics K2 12 deep per side. Ground subs were 12 SB28. The offstage left hang was 6 KARA and the offstage right ground stack was also 6 KARA.
@@HansonProductions112 It would be more accurate to put 220Hz at zero then 8kHz is around -7dB. How the PA falls off after 8kHz is up to the weather, deployment, model of loudspeaker. Some PA's will do 16kHZ and others fall hard after 8kHz. At 125Hz we are already +4.25dB
If by showoff, you mean one of the best system engineers out there, you’re absolutely correct. Dude doesn’t mess around and the results have been fantastic for many artists.

Man Cookie is a wealth of info. You got another 22 min of my life on this one... Love it man, Stay Safe
Man oh Man so much good information from chirs in less than 20 minutes! Awesome content!
Last big PA I played on were JBL 45/60's with some type of horns. All passive with analog crossovers and power amps . Showing my age.
Well you’d be happy to know that a lot of the things we wanted in our PA’s back then…now we have it.

Looks like a fairly small venue for Styx. Was it a private event?

OH!!!! Your V9 crashes too. Wow.!!!!
Yeah. I still have V8 on there if all hell breaks loose.
I like this series of vids, but I think it would be improved if you showed what the speaker distribution was.

@@cookie_mix Just curious about the target curve you use. Is that a -6db or -9db tilt between 125 and 16k?

How does this guy do all this with only 4 laptops? Need at least 7.
You know, I think you’re onto something. I should be live streaming on at least 2 so that mean I need 9?
Then the chat… and one for browsing. 11? Still a modest setup
its a pity that you promote russian mics........
