I swear I was watching my life through your video! My wife asked why I was laughing, and I told her that I wasn't the only one who had those kind of days. I salute you.
Many cold snacks were had during this project!
I've done the same thing before
I've done that before
Love the winch in your shop saves your back for sure
Best tool i've ever installed!
Great job despite the gremlins. I watch you and Mustie 1 and you both have inspired me to get back into small engines.
Thanks for the kind words! It's never too late to get back into the hobby
Even with new parts and labor that will be a nice tractor when done. Keep up the solid videos. That ceiling winch will save your back a many times. Working smarter not harder.
I agree, I aint giving up on it yet! And absolutely. If I had more ceiling height, I was going to add a 2nd layer of strut so it'd be an dual axis. Many good install videos on youtube!
Love the videos. I'm a follower of Mustie and really enjoy your similar style of small engine repair. Entertaining and educational. Keep it up!
Thank you!
I enjoyed watching that.
I enjoyed it because it wasn't me fighting all yhe gremlins! 😅
Haha !
I like your overhead winch set up!
It’s been a huge back saver. By far one of the best investments I’ve made in the garage
nice in shop winch running on that track, nice roomy shop
I can't recommend them enough! It's saved my back several times since installing
I like this video and how it reminds me of the journey I had to go threw with my 1978 John Deere 316K when I brought it home and revived it and brought it back from the dead. Right away it was nothing but issues now it's 90% there. I use it regularly to mow and that's it's only job with me. It still needs some work and some cosmetic work but reviving these old machines is always fun.
I actually have 2 cub Cadets in my garage that aren't currently running ones a parts machine one is the one that technically runs but hasn't for a while and has a starter generator issue. I have my old trusty my first build a Case 222 I repowered with a Predator 420 13hp hemi engine and use as my snow remover and all around work horse. It's rough looking and the rear end leaks out of the gear range lever.
Finally I have a Kabota TG1860 Diesel I just picked up for $150 and it has 968Hrs on it was a 1 owner and no leaks or any major issue besides the pto but I'm tempted to swap the engine from it into a different machine in the future.
That’s a huge score on that Kubota ! Thanks for the comment. I enjoy reading about my viewers experience with their own projects!
@@LaidOffGarage I found your account and after watching a few of the videos was like yup I need to subscribe to your account. Very down to earth and enjoyable. Hope to see more videos!
Why was I so excited when I saw your video got posted…can’t wait for a future hopefully lol
Could you tell what Horse I robbed those tie rods off of?

Beautiful work done on her
Thank you!
👍👍👌👌 Thanks for the video!
I have been watching a few videos on your channel so far. But have you come across any Lowe's branded lawnmowers yet? I have yet to see someone bring back a Lowe's lawnmower from the late 80s. My dad had one as his first lawnmower that he bought brand new in early 1989. Kept that lawnmower for over 12 years. I think it had a single cylinder Briggs with a 38 inch deck.
Was happy when i seen you posted a new video. On the air filter ive seen and always do this myself is put a little oil on the outer foam. Thanks
I've actually got some Klotz for that exact purpose from my oval kart days that I need to use! Thanks for the tip!
Good idea on the ceiling winch just what I need just ordered the brackets and rollers from Amazon. Thank you
Gotta save a fellers back before it's too late!
I’ve said it before but your camera work is underrated. Keep grinding you’ll be at 8k subs by 2025!
Thank you for the kind words!
Lucky you had another tie rod
A rare mower for sure! 😊
Glad someone else agrees lol!
Good old "Breaks N Scrappem" engine! I've actually had pretty good luck with the 16H twins though.
I had to drink a few beers on it lol
Wheel horse 🐎 was #1 n 70s & 80s 💪✌️👍🫡
Gotta love wheelhorse
Nice work..would have been even better if there were more footage of scraping the under side of the deck and sharpening blades !!!👍👍
Is that a Roper 633A Transaxle?
It's so easy to rebuild and talk about Torque!
So hard to look at what was such a lovely tractor in this condition. I swear I just do not understand how anyone can have so little respect for their equipment. As my long -deceased dad always said, if you cannot keep it under roof, you should not own it.
i agree it's cursed lol. still great work. can't believe the same tie rod broke on the other tractor.
I foresee a video in the near future about making custom tie rods lol!
The diafram for sure i I had that problem before
A Wheel Horse by any other name. A Horse is a Horse, of course, of course!
That sheetmetal on the engine is not a heatshield. It is designed to direct the cooling air over the cylinders. Should not be run without it. Will shorten the life of that engine considerably.
Yeah I call things the wrong names a lot while filming. I’m still looking for a replacement shroud for it. Thanks for the comment !
I've never seen those in nh I thought it rare to find a Gilson tractor these old tractors are great but you have mechanical like your channel does
Thats surprising because your state seems to have a HUGE WheelHorse following!
It was Kmart that sold those👍
I wish I could find a picture of them sitting in a store back in the day!
I have 2 lawn/garden tractors??
12" rear rims. Not same width.
??? If to upgrade to Ag tires. What would you upgrade to??
Thank you for sharing education.
Great hoist tool upgrade too.
They make 23" ag tires in 8.50/9.50/10.50 width. Your current wheel width would dictate what size to go with. Wheel offset could also be an issue if you go wider than stock. You could have interference issues with the inside rears rubbing seat pan etc. As far as brands go, I normally go with the cheapest option lol!
@@LaidOffGarage Thank you.
Why didn't you replace that bent pulley on the deck?
Wasn’t making a restoration effort out of this one. Belt stays on fine as is.
I have a very rare John Deere riding mower with electric PTO and a single blade. Dated 1980
What’s the model?
@@icanfixit7179 I think it's a 108
Was it made for Montgomery Ward?
I believe the GT series is a Craftsman
You didn't install a fuel line shut off valve?
lol! I’m fresh out otherwise I would’ve
May I ask what you do for a living
Heavy equipment operator !
But mine was bad and I replaced it and it ran good but you have a problem with the carb
Put a Kohler or onan in it
Now why would I go and do something silly like that
Wow brother. I think you got lied to lol. NOT FUNNY 😂😂
You know I think you should date my sister. She would be into this. She lives in your area too….
We don't order anything from Amazon
I've also had great luck with ebay !
Money 💰 Pit
I aint giving up on it yet! Thanks for watching
Don't blame you yo have come this far Finish it 👍@@LaidOffGarage
They were not sold in box stores . I was a Wheel Horse and Toro Wheel Horse Dealer . These were sold at dealers as a price alternative.
Thank you for clearing that up for me! It’s nice to hear it from the horses mouth for once
