you actually can hook them wrong. the connectors for the control modules and turn signals are the same. the thing to remember is the top of the module is the right hand controls in the bottom is the left hand.

I got same code when I did my Road Glide Special, guy said it was something to do with the sequence with ignition when changing bars

You will need longer clutch and brake hose then you will also need the wire extenders as well
