  • Jack Dorsey is an American Internet entrepreneur and programmer, co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, and current head of payments company Block, Inc. He is an investor and supporter of open-source communications and financial software, and has backed numerous initiatives to help grow Bitcoin, Nostr, and open AI systems worldwide.
    Lyn Alden is the author of “Broken Money,” a history of how currency has transformed from a bearer instrument with various freedom benefits into a tool of electronic control. She is also an independent financial analyst and prolific writer about global economics and their relationship with individual freedoms. She will join Jack Dorsey on stage for a conversation about decentralized finance, social media and AI.

    When you understand Nostr can be your social media and a wallet - you won't need anything else. People need to wake up to decentralisation and open source. The value of freedom is misunderstood.

      While I definitely agree with your sentiment and ideal what I think is lacking from that perspective AND Jack's is this:
      HUMAN NATURE.
      People want "iPhone stupid" and simple and they want EASY.
      Human nature wants highest reward with LEAST effort expended. And this is MOST people..
      We who have Nostr (I use Primal) are in the very VERY small minority unfortunately right now and probably always will be because...
      HUMAN NATURE. Until it's "iPhone stupid" it'll never adopt 😓

    What can he say about censorship at tweeter or social media 🤔

    • @overbuiltlimited
      @overbuiltlimited 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly! People say, is that he wasn't really in control of Twitter and that if he didn't get on the censorship bandwagon then he'd find himself not being the CEO of twitter. Okay and? He's worth Billions of dollars.
      Either you have principles or you don't. Lot's of people recently had to make a decision weather to get an experimental medication or not and were threatened with losing their jobs if they didn't partake. Many people did lose their jobs. They had bills to pay and families to support. They were, to a person less wealthy than Jack. Their financial futures were unknown. And yet they refused to be part of something that they knew was wrong. That's what having principles looks like. If Jack had resigned when twitter was receiving all the censorship heat that would have made a real statement. He could of then held his head high and said, "I refuse to be a part of this". But he didn't do that. He went right along with it. But we're supposed to forget all of that because he is working on Bitcoin now. The guy is as two faced and slimy as they come.

    whenever Jack talks about anything else this never happens, however ever since the first time Jack Dorsey appeared on Rogan it became obvious. whenever Jack talks about Twitter everything he says becomes open ended and inconclusive, it's almost like something very dark happened over there that he can't quite process even to this day, so he rambles about what Twitter could have and should have been as opposed to what it was. i'm a big fan of Jack Dorsey but, when will he tell the world what Twitter really was after 2012...

      His biggest mistake was to downplay just how crude and cruel people can be. By the time he could grasp what was happening, he was making a lot of money, had influence, could barely have a say as a board member and the worst of all--Politicians were on it. His initial thought, even from his older interviews was that Twitter was going to be this one big chat group of some sort, but alas!
