      @@sharonmedeiros9819 If you have good digestion, you can get B12 from animal foods. The secret comes with understanding how food gets digested and what prevents that. This Dr. is very good for understanding. Dr. Barbara O'Neil is another very good one here on TH-cam. But be sure to listen to all the videos that address your concerns AT LEAST TWICE but sometimes many more times. You will only understand how the body works and what you can do with thorough understanding. Then it is like you ARE YOUR OWN DOCTOR! After paying attention to Peter Attia I and have been taking taking Jarrow Methyl B12 5000 MCG that is combined with Methyl Folate 800 MCG. Is there enough B12 to overcome the folate? U dazzle me with ur detail Dr Liu, that's for sure. U mentioned folate disrupts b12 absorption and to not take them as one supplement. Because I'm MTHFR ++ I have to take both of those, so i take a separate B12 supplement and a separate Folate (as Metafolin, L-5-MTHF). Even if ur taking as separate supplements daily it seems it would still disrupt absorption ??

    • @Healthyimmunedoc
      @Healthyimmunedoc  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, the metabolism and B12 and folate are quite complex and they are codependent while can inhibit one another. The danger is that excessive levels of synthetic folic acid can mask B12 deficiency which can lead to dementia, osteoporosis, heart disease etc. Foods are commonly fortified with folic acid but not B12 and hence, most people already have more than enough synthetic folic acid and really they really don't need to take a supplement to get their folic acid. Excessive folic acid intake is also linked to increased risk of cancer. It's not so much as they compete in the gut but it's more getting enough vitamin B12.

    In my blood I have low protein, high globulin, and low folic acid. I had gastric bypass surgery in 1998. I was wondering if it can be reversed. I have hair loss now and used to have very thick hair. I am taking B12 shots. I am having problems with absorption. I had triple bypass open heart surgery last year in June 2023. In March they went back in and took the wires out they were causing pain. Now I feel like I’m back the way I was before I had the surgery. I’m tired, no energy, and shortness of breath.
