Good effort Mike, make sure to crouch so enemies don't hear your footsteps, and try to fire the automatic weapons in bursts rather than holding down the trigger, the circle around your crosshair will grow indicating the bullet spread of the weapon. You can customize your crosshair in the options menu and there's plenty to choose from. Hope to see a part 2!
I don't know if you're going to see this, but thanks for bringing back some old memories, Mike. I learned about RTCW and the franchise in general from my father. When I was still little, I used to watch him play Doom 2, Quake 2, and eventually Return to Castle Wolfenstein on his Macintosh. I loved the game so much that I had when I heard that it was coming out for the PS2 I had to have it. My parents bought it for me when I was so little that I thought the "Can I play, daddy?" difficulty was unironically meant for me lol. I was so scared by the catacomb (in the console only prequel mission) and the crypt levels that it took what felt forever for me to venture in and beat them. (Naturally I didn't replay them but I do remember bits here and there.) So you were right when you said that they don't make them like they used to anymore. It was an era where gamers didn't rush through beat a game in under a week and never play it again, and the industry by no means encouraged it or all the other bs that we have today. I can hardly wait to get around to part two and so on. And do pay more attention to the story and cutscenes, it's great! Thanks again!
this was back when you didn't need accounts to play online. Literally just copy/pasted this game on a USB for all my roommates and we played online matches for hours... Good times.
I'd just go and find random PvP matches going on and hop in. It was a surprisingly in depth and good PvP thing. And I liked how they would swap the factions of the players (and sometimes switch players around between the teams) so it didn't end up just being a Nazi Murder Simulator. Also they had you play as nazis in multiplayer. That was pretty gutsy.
I noticed @2:33:37, that you're running the game on default graphics settings (disabled dynamic lights, plus stuff that's on normal). From under system -> graphics menu you can up the texture quality. Basically you could crank everything to max. With default settings it looks kind of washed out with its muddy textures. Otherwise love your let's plays. Keep up the good work, and thanks! Btw, 2009 Wolfenstein is also pretty decent game with a semi-open world and some rpg elements. I find it much more enjoyable than New Order and New Colossus, which are dragged down by bland level design, tedious fetch missions and large quantity of long cutscenes.
YES more old school FPS games. Alien Resurrection for PS1 would be a pretty good choice too. I haven't really seen a lot of people talk about it, for whatever reason. I think it's one of the best alien games and has some of the best graphics on PS1.

This game has an interesting development story. They had built several mechanics like stealth and other types of varied missions and then it was all scrapped so that's why some of the levels are weird.
This is a great game. Its difficulty just spikes hard though, multiple times. Its entirely unforgiving. Its also interesting because it eventually shifts away from traditional FPS elements. It makes you realize you have no idea what kind of game you're really playing.

You should play Soldier of Fortune, Mike it's very similar to Return to CW. Early 2000s graphics and fps gameplay plus you can enemy limbs off
