  • Step by Step instructions for repairing a window on the peerless door of my CLS 550. A couple of different size torque screw drivers and plastic trim removal tools is all you need.

There is easier way: remove the power window cover in the compartment below door handle. There is a plugged hole, and when you lower the window you can see the screw. 3 minutes and you're done.

Hey FC! I was exactly looking for such video, thanks! Question: did I understand right, that the position of the window can be adjusted with that nut sideways as well (2:54)? My driver side window closes back up perfectly when I close the door, however there is a very thin gap between the bottom back of the window and the rubber seal, generating wind noise, and can possibly cause a leak.

Csaszi Seven hey there. Take a look at my newest video. I had to recable a regulator and I show you the other adjustment areas to get the gap flush and cure wind noise. It took me a while to figure out. Lol

what is the ground clearance of this car? A beautiful car by the way.

Jolly John Thanks Sir! It's 5 inches off the ground but you can raise the car up another 3 inches for off road driving.

Does driving the car on the full Eight inches, for longer durations, cause any kind of stess on the shocks or the driving dynamics? Is it safe for the car in the long run? The roads over here become a mess during the monsoons, opening up craters that are quite deep.

I'm not sure. I would think it wouldn't because nothing really changes. The struts under the bags perform the same way. If anything the car will ride softer. Mercedes has tolerance levels built into the system. The car can raise higher and lower than those settings indicating the level keep lower stress on the wear parts.
