Previously, I too had the impression that this has to be a Miyako brain child. It was only later that I found out that the initial structure and development of the composition was the collaborative work between Asami and the other keyboardist composer, Mao. However, knowing all Lovebites members being great music readers and writers, the finishing touches of the composition would reflect the signature contribution identifiable to each member. Damn, that is why this group is so great. Their compositions are a concerted effort by Jedi class musicians.
@@zainalabidinramli762 "Jedi class musicians" is one of my favorite things I've heard lately 😂 According to wikipedia Asami and Mao wrote the music for this song. Either way, a genius composition 🤘🐺
@@zainalabidinramli762 Agree 100%, dude! Mao helps indeed, but the mastermind is Miyako, the leader of the wolfpack... I love them all, one of the greatest band ever! Cheers!🍻
It should maybe be mentioned that Miyako, the dark haired guitarist/pianist was several months pregnant when the concert was performed. The only concession she made was to wear flat shoes instead of the usual high heels for a concert that was nearly 2 hours long. Yes, the bassist is founder Miho, who left the band not very long after this. This concert from 2021 was under strict covid related regulations. Only 50% audience capacity with mandatory masks and no shouting or cheering, only applause from the audience.
I hope Miyako checked with her doctor if the concert was safe for the baby. I imagine everything went fine, but I also know how some doctors freak out at the thought of rock/metal concerts 😄 Man, I forgot 2021 was the covid days. It's crazy that they even got to do the concert. As I recall most things got straight up cancelled or delayed.
@@bsdsuPASTA Yes, she gave birth to a daughter a few months later. As far as I'm aware mum and daughter are doing well, all the band members do try to keep their families out of the limelight. Asami, the singer also had a baby not too long after. These ladies are tough 😄 Miyako, as well as being a musician, wife and mother, is also an animal lover, with a dog (Wampa) and a collection of other animals, including birds and a snake, and I believe enjoys going fishing in her spare time (although how she finds spare time I do wonder 😄) As well she is a big Star Wars fan.
@@tonym480 That's good to hear! And keeping their private life private is the best decision I think. Smart move! It always baffles me how some people can be into and do so many things. I feel like if I'm into two things at the same time there's no time for anything else anymore. Good on Miyako for managing all that!
It's always nice when people merge different things they are good at 👌Especially when those things are quite different from each other, that usually ends up being unique and interesting. That's certainly the case with this song 👍

This song is an epic masterpiece. It's from their third full album "Electric Pentagram", and this LIVE performance is from their "Heavy Metal Never Dies" LIVE LP.
Both the guitarists are classical musicians. Midori on guitar and Miyako on piano. Both started to play electrical guitar quite late. And the singer is a ballerina.

Most successful musicians whose origin story I've heard started on the piano. It seems to be a good instrument to learn music on in general 👍 I do have a list of LOVEBITES songs to check, so there's more coming!
This is probably the one song I want to hear and see them play live more than any other of their songs. Maybe Final Collision as well, which I think they only performed once and it wasn't filmed. Asami was a ballerina since the age of 4, and was told somewhere around the age of 15 or 16 that she was too small, which is why she went into R&B singing and eventually ended up here. We are lucky to have her singing, and it's poetic that she gets to perform both in this song. She sings with a lot of emotion and you can hear it here especially.
TIL there are height requirements for ballet :o It turned out well for music though, so I won't complain 😄Asami killed it in this song 👌 What's up with Final Collision? Why have they only performed it once, is it just not popular with the fans?
Whilst watching this reaction it occurred to me that there is an opportunity for the band to play this. Tokyo Garden Theater, 1st September. And I have a ticket….. obviously they might not, but big stage, big venue, large crowd, only appearance in Japan for this year. My fingers are firmly crossed!
@@bsdsuPASTA About Final Collision, I don’t know. Might be treated as more of a deep cut. I think it’s a really good song that’s just overlooked in favor of some more epic solos or great crowd engagement songs. I think it’s a banger and it became one of my more unknown favorites, but agree that it becomes a problem of what would you drop in favor of it. They have so many fantastic songs. I would love a performance of it though to be filmed and make it in one of their DVD releases.
@@ericsaari2901 I checked the stream numbers on spotify and while Final Collision isn't one of their most streamed songs the numbers aren't bad compared to the rest of their works in my opinion. Now I'm really curious, I should probably just listen to it without making a video, seeing as there's no live or music video of it. On the bright side, having too many good songs to choose from is a good problem to have!
This is another masterpiece by mind-blowing Lovebites. Some people say that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. These women are extraordinary musicians, then with Miho and now with Fami.
Everyone is a melting pot of their own influences and preferences. It's nice when that seeps into people's art 👌Having a unique style is perhaps the best boon of any non-cover band in my opinion.
One of my top 5 Lovebites songs, perhaps my favorite...? This is a mini-symphony in three parts. The middle section is always so beautiful, even though I must have heard this 100 times now - Miyako on piano and Midori on acoustic, with Asami just being Asami.... so elegant and stunning. And the section that follows just rips! Perfect. 🤘🎸🐺
It's a beautiful song! The middle section is the highlight for me, but that does not take anything away from the fantastic melody (which is now etched into my brain), the tactical chug-chug segue and, of course, Asami's performance as a whole.
Fortunately, like you, I first saw it live......and most of us when we saw it for the first time had a reaction like yours.......but I will think of someone who didn't know Lovebites and went for the first time at that concert and saw this live.....
Haha, their mind would melt! Imagine you go to check out this new metal band you've never heard of and you get the metal, but then you also get this beautiful theatrical performance, then it's back to metal as usual 🤣 That would be a memorable night for sure!
I think, this is played not very often, ONLY because you need the grand piano for it. That limits the use more or less to Tokyo or at least Japan. Can't go on European tour with that. I just was on such a European concert, but very well aware, that none of those piano supported songs would be played. Although they are among their best songs! Gladly, they have enough other magnificent songs!
Yeah, that's fair. Lugging a keyboard across the world for a few bits in a few songs sounds impractical, and that's if a keyboard can work as a suitable replacement for the grand piano. They'd also have to mount an acoustic guitar every time, too. No wonder there's next to no footage of that song online, even though from what I've seen the fanbase seems to really enjoy it. Ah well, that makes it all the more special when they do play it!

Where do I get one of the head mounted antennas you have to get better Lovebites signal? I assume that's how you were able to give such a clear analysis of the lyrics? I normally don't like serenades or ballads, in fact I tell people who stand below my balcony to stop loitering, I make an exception for a few Lovebites songs because they are so good, and they build to something awesome, every time. Asami, the singer, is trained in Ballet and occasionally, when MIyako is not using it, Asami also plays the piano. I listen to this song whenever I lose a debit / credit card, to help move on. Yes you are right this is a bit of an outlier, though it is not the only one in the catalogue. Nice reaction.
🤣🤣🤣 The antenna used to be a cable tie meant to hold the elastic bit of my headset so it would keep the plastic from my head, but I have since repurposed it to help me get a better signal. So far it's doing a great job! I used to not like ballads and serenades, but I have since then listened to a few rock ballads and this metal serenade and I'm starting to change my mind. Having people who can play the piano when needed seems to be quite useful. Can't have A Frozen Serenade without a piano! Now they just need to work a few ballet twirls into their songs... I hope you find other occasions to listen to this song, so you can listen to it more often! Unless you lose a debit/credit card often, in which case you should probably look into that. But at least you have something to help you move on. I tend to burn out on "a lot of the same", so it's good to know this is not the only "outlier" in the catalogue! Thanks, I'm glad you liked the reaction!

LOVEBITES - A Frozen Serenade lyrics:
Crystal tears Falling from the skies
Veiling fears The emptiness inside
Time is just passing by
Killing me under the soft twilight
A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
One life ends
And one life begins
Evanesce
To our origins
When I'm lost on my way
Lead my heart and guide me with your grace
A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
Just like a dream, just like a bird
I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
Seasons may pass, but its beauty will never fade away
All living things are precious and irreplaceable
Just like a dream, just like a bird
I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
White butterflies are fluttering under the silver sky
If only I could wish to see you once more

I've only dipped my toes in the LOVEBITES sea so far, but I agree - they seem to be world class musicians!
A Frozen Serenade is a wonderful song and I'm glad I got to listen to it. Gaining a deeper understanding of the songs I listen to does help me appreciate them much more, which is why I do what I do in my reaction videos when I listen intently to music.

Queen masterpiece 🤘🤘

Your reaction is very correct and interesting. However, if you prefer fast and powerful, check out "Break the wall" (LIVE 2020), and then "Set the world on fire" (LIVE 2021) and "The hammer of wrath" (LIVE 2023).
If you want listen to their more "classic" song, maybe the most known and reacted, check out "Holy war" (LIVE 2020).
If you want react to one of their more recent live exhibitions, check out "We are the resurrection" (LIVE 2023, released in July 2024 on YT channel).
About "Break the wall", it is a very thrash and speed metal song. I'm sure you enjoy it so much and you'll thank me after listening to it🙂
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the reaction :)
That's a good list + short summary of what to expect! I have a list of recommendations for what LOVEBITES songs to check out, I'll add your comment to the list and consider my options for the next reaction 👌
Don't feel bad, I'm a native English speaker, and I can't say "recontextualization" either, lol! As for the song, when Midori comes in with the Spanish guitar, it gives me goose bumps every time!
It's fine, Google TTS did a fine job with the word 😄
There's so much in that bit with the piano and the snowflakes that it took me a few seconds to realize I was hearing an acoustic guitar. It's such a powerful shift!

Thanks for the playlists!
A masterpiece.
Name another band that does a bridge like this in the middle of a heavy metal show. No one...only LOVEBITES. Incredible. 🤘
I certainly can't name another one! 🤘
What about Metallica and songs (Nothing Else Meters, Unforgiven), and others!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm, critically acclaimed classics, there's an interesting thought 🤔
I'm kind of going with the flow when making these videos so I can't promise anything, but I fancy the idea. Thank you for mentioning it 👍
Where do I get one of the head mounted antennas you have to get better Lovebites signal?
🤣🤣🤣
The antenna used to be a cable tie meant to hold the elastic bit of my headset so it would keep the plastic from my head, but I have since repurposed it to help me get a better signal.
Miho Miho Miho!
You love bass, huh? 😄
@@bsdsuPASTA Noticed HUH yea I am trying to spotlight the Bassist every re-action I watch, with a few exceptions for example Glim Spanky cos their Bassist is a studio Musician and NOT part of the Band per say still great tho.
@@DavidMISAMISAMISACook That's a noble undertaking! I'm saying that as someone who still fails to notice the bass unless something very obvious happens 😅
I love the sound of bass though, and I hope to one day try my hand at playing the instrument. Maybe then I will learn to hear it 😄
歌詞の分析をしてるんですね 凄い😄
Thanks, I'm glad you appreciate it! ❤
