Also because its such a "simple" vehicle, stripping it down is a good start to only have what you need so you can kinda start fresh, also in a vehicle like that (terrible insulation) leather seats are a must have
I did this same conversation in 1974. Bought it with a rod through the 6 cyl block. In went a 350 hp 350 with a Turbo 400. I turned a lot of heads when I fired it up the duel exhaust had a beautiful rumble sound. I have now done the same to a 2007 Jeep JK. Bought a high mileage unit and in went a 2016 GMC Sierra 5.3 355 hp with a 6L80 transmission out of a 2017 Escalade. Both my buddy and I were 73 years old when we did the conversion. Trust me, when you get all be bugs worked out, you will appreciate this conversion.
There’s better options than the one at the rear. The weight behind the rear axle, the loss of space for a proper exhaust, etc. are the biggest reasons for deleting it.
Awesome video I can’t wait until the project is done. Also, I really like that back wall with that. I don’t know what it’s called honeycomb checkered, black gray white it’s pretty sweet.
I also like how you kind of compiled different things getting done and the same video so we don’t have to wait forever cause this is gonna be a pretty long build in real time, but how we can see a lot of progress and each video definitely awesome

Yeah I agree

What an opportunity! You've gotta be exactly what this legend of an FJ needs!!!
Thanks man, I can’t wait to look back at these videos in 6 months and see how much love it received since I started.
Stoked to see what the end result looks like!!
Me too man! Stay tuned!
That things gonna be sick when done
Agreed! It’s going to take some time but stick around for the progress!
Can we nickname it “Fukushima”?
Ohhhhh that’s goooddddd… I’ll think about that.
@@GhostSpeedShop both are “nuclear disasters” caused by salt water…and Japanese…and now we are all watching and waiting to see if it is recoverable.
Absolutely
That's a great idea.🎉
I would keep the extra fuel tank. Great for long trips off road.

Holley efi setup might clean it up and make it run better... or a 4BT!
Yeah, I’ll probably stick with the fitec but it def needs all the cleaning up!
