What’s wrong with my new MK8 GTI? It’s a complete brick!
My brand new MK8 2024 Volkswagen GTI is completely undriveable. I can’t even move it from my driveway! This car only has 200 miles on it and it’s full of problems!

What’s osha gonna say bout that
Nothing since it’s non commercial.
Thanks for your excellent video🇬🇧
Yup it snooowed. Hey I think I see my house LoL
Excellent job!
Looks good
Jus So Im Understanding. The Line Connected To The Filter Doesnt need To be Connected Again?
Correct. It’s the crank case pressure vent. Just don’t plug it
You'll have to let it sit much longer than 2 days. Tell the truth
Rustoleum fully hardens in 14ish days. 48 hours in the sun or under an IR lamp is plenty of time before wet sanding.
Thank you for the video! If you sprayed after this 2-3 coats of clear from the spray can (they produce now even 2K lacquer in the spray can) with necessary sanding between the layers - would it hide all imperfections and make it really flawless?
I state this in the video
I owned a Toyota BJ40 and recognized the hood in an instant. I now own an 80 Series that I plan to respray, thank you for the brilliant tips!
Nice job.
Well done. 4 years ago I painted my 1964 MGB roadster with rattle can paint. Surprisingly good.
What front lip is this bro ? 🙏🏽
Check my video description I list the links to the parts I use!
Hey mate i was super surprised how good it looked
shoooooot, looks good man ! when would you like me to bring my van over lol
lol 😂
@@GhostSpeedShop 🤣
Looks great brother nice job
Get yourself a friend who is a professional painter 😂😂😂they're a Dime a dozen
@@ljvelasquez5438 I don’t use my friends, nor should you. I’d rather pay my friend, which then mitigates the purpose of the video…. Painting on the cheap.
I recognised this hood(bonnet in Australia) in the first few seconds. Toyota Landcruiser Fj45 or similar model with same hood. My dad owned a 1976 Toyota Landcruiser Fj45 for 35 years.
You still spend so much time prepping, painting multiple coats, sanding with multiple grits… The cost of a sprayer doesn’t seem that big anymore…
Yes and no. This was still far cheaper than what I spend to paint something.
@@GhostSpeedShop I wonder how total cost, total time, and resulting quality, compare for this nice rattle can job versus a budget spraygun job. The cheapest spraygun at Harbor freight, low and paint, and a pancake compressor that so many of us have lying around…
@ the cheapest spray gun at harbor freight is junk and a pancake compressor won’t have a high enough cfm to maintain a wet edge or constant spray pattern. Harbor freight has one decent spray gun but it’s around 300.00 if I remember correctly.
@@GhostSpeedShop So still a significant savings to go rattle-can, especially if only doing 1 job. Do you need to clean the rattle-can nozzles after each coat, or do you save time there also?
Looks really good considering.
Paint spray polioretan. 😮
Negative
It does look good for a spray bomb, and I definitely recommend wet sanding like you did!
Quality paint jobs cost so much now, a rattle can is a realistic alternative. Prep is everything with any paint job...any repairs or imperfections will tend to show once Shiney paint is applied....the higher the gloss (shine) the higher the need for additional attention to be paid to repairs, fillers, sanding marks, etc. The novice will want to use solid colors without metallic flakes. The flakes (poly) will tend to flow or sag in the fresh paint should any coat be applied to wet, even prior to runs developing. Solid colors can also be repaired after curing much easier. Hope this helps someone
Looks great well done
That is some BS! I know you have room for one more.
Yeah we could slide something else on top I’m sure. 😆
Where’d u get the brake pads and rotors from ?
Yokohama motors website
Dope
Right
if wanted to opt for nuts/bolts and some washers, how can i reach the needed area
Remove the splash guards

Looks great. Awsome.
Great shade a blue.
My brother used to paint all his motorcycles with spray can lacquer. Lots of wet sanding between coats to create an incredibly deep shine. Not sure you can even buy that stuff anymore in the US.
@@h5mind373 can you still get lacquer in a spray can?
I was quoted 11.000 dollars to paint my Isuzu I will use paint cans thanks great video
I don’t know, I’m guessing that you’re a professional. If I had an indoor place I would give it a try. To my eye, it turned out great.
If I could make it Look as good as you did. For sure
Massive thanks to this video bud, I watched it twice yesterday, I'm doing the job today, and I'm back referencing it again to help me get it done. Top job! 💪😎
That mask isn’t good for paint fumes, trust me… $30.00 mask from paint store is a little better…. Heck, just invest in a best diy mask…. You’ll thank me later!
The propellant in a rattle can is typically CO2 and not the volatile compounds you find in a spray gun mix.
@@fensterlips Is it the propellant that is the concern - or is it the chemicals in the paint itself?
You got your shirt in it at your belt line right on the front edge. Tuck in your shirt to prevent that from happening in the future.
@@fensterlipsIt's not the propellant that's the problem. It's the isocyanates used in 2k paints and clears.
@@fensterlips all I know is that after I got into spray painting everything around my house, I would start hurting in my lungs, maybe not enough fresh air mix with an old cheap fan. Worked later at a luxury body shop but stayed away from the paint shop…
I’m a 1960 panel beater spray painter in Australia , I had my own repair shop doing hundreds of repairs for car yards having to have a compressor and spray guns was alway a pain , eventually I became a car dealer and done all my own touch ups with a pressure pack ,my son in-law came to my car yard one day while I was right in the middle of painting the cabin of a truck much to his amusement , from then on he called me pressure pack Maurie , I still use pressure pack cans ordering the exact colour from the auto supplier , I sold the truck two days after finishing it 🙋🏼🤔😃🤑🤑🤑🤑💸🇦🇺
I might have watched the video but it's longer than 8 minutes witch was enough time for this!
