And a little known fact is that she was a manga artist herself. Too bad her work got eclipsed by her husband's fame.
And another known fact is that without her Dragon Ball may not even exist. She was the one who commented how much Toriyama loved watching Kung Fu flicks during work. And that gave Toriyama and his editor the idea of creating a Kung Fu themed manga.

First named Paiea, meaning “Hard-Shelled Crab,” the future sovereign was the son of Keoua, a high chief, and of Kekuiapoiwa, a daughter of the former king Alapai. A Hawaiian tradition tells that a bright star, Kokoiki, appeared just before the great conqueror was born. The date of the legend coincides with the appearance of Halley’s Comet in 1758. When Kokoiki was viewed by the kahunas, Hawaii’s mystic seers, it was prophesied that a great leader was about to be born who would defeat all his rivals and reign supreme over all the islands. The infant prince was ordered to be put to death by Alapai but was reared secretly and grew to manhood, taking the name Kamehameha, meaning “The Very Lonely One” or “The One Set Apart.”
In essence Kamehameha in the Hawaii Language means The Very Lonely One or The One Set Apart.
Which is basically indicative of Goku and his adventures 🤔

For me the kamehameha was always just a very powerfull ''push''
like you concentrate all your body energy into a single push, enough to expel it out and push at all force.
Pushes the air and matter so strong that its like and infinite wave of punches/preassure.
So basically, like the ki blast is a ranged punch, the wave atacks are a super concentrated constant phisical force. Almost like gravity, but inverse.

what people dont notice about it is as a technique, if u never seen it before it will catch you off guard timing wise. because when goku does it the enemy never knows when the last “HA” is coming. he doest always say it at the same pace and timing. when gon does paper rock scissors you know when the move is coming out and you can prepare for the blast. vegeta, freza, cell, buu, never see it coming because they dont know what goku is doing because none of their ki blast have names that they pace out when they do the move. like when mike tyson fights or a stef curry does a cross over.

Just so you know, 'ignited particles' is basically what plasma is, or at least is a variant of plasma.
Plasma is a state of matter in which a given material has absorbed, or is conducting, enough energy that the elemental particles that make up that material become decoupled to various extents.
To put it simple: Plamsa is the result of the presence of high amounts of energy in a given space that has matter to contain/conduct it.
When it comes to Dragonball, it can still be Plasma and Spiritual Energy because guess where that energy came from to produce the Plamsa that makes up something like the KAMEHAMEHA.
The characters in Dragonball are using their Spiritual Energies (Ki, God Ki, Hakai, Genki, etc.) to produce Plasmas, and the more complex structures would be Plasmoids.
Alot of what is shown in Dragonball is actually quite possible to produce with Plasmas.
Even the literal creation of materials out of thin air(like Piccolo's 'clothes beam', TFS ref.), is possible with plasma transmutation reactions. If don't believe me on this one than I encourage you to look up SAM(The Structured Atom Model), and The Safire Project. The transmutation of elements is actually not all that new a concept, but the idea of using Plasma reactions to do it is.
Theoretically, if you could control enough energy, with enough precision, than you could create literally anything you can think of, given you know the thing you're making all the way down to the subatomic scale. Gives you a real appreciation for what the Eternal Dragons can actually do once you think about it that way.

We can mark all our childhoods with that moment of awe the first time we saw this technique used, then trying to bring the KAboom on our own while we acted it out. As for ME, it was watching that epic beam struggle against Vegeta that got me wanting to dive deeper into the series, and that has grown into a lifetime of love for the series. However it HAppened for each of us, whatever MEandering paths we took to get here, it’s united us across all borders. We may not look anything alike or be able to directly communicate with each other, but when we strike that pose and thrust our hands forward in power, we’re all speaking the same language…and that makes me HAppy.

Even though Toriyama said he didn't pay much attention to the martial arts for thinking about the pose, I imagine he may have unconsciously remembered seeing it from one of those wuxia features, since a lot of chi blast poses from those more fantastical ones are a fair bit similar to the Kamehameha's. It's to the extent that Street Fighter may not have necessarily imitated DBZ, but could've very well just have been using the same standard visual language of chi-based moves.

13:07 Didn't Goku also use the Kamehameha on his feet during the tournament of power againts Jiren? I could have sworn I saw little blue blast coming out of his feet. This was right after Goku got angry when Jiren tried to blast his friends.

The hand motion is important but how is ssj2 gohan able to use it one handed and would his blast be more powerfull if 2 handed
Edit and i am not talking about his injuries if anyone without injuries and at full power would a 1 handed kamehameha be weaker than a 2 handed.. i feel that the hand motion and postition compresses the ki even further

    • @HSSJ2
      @HSSJ2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes obviously it would, with one arm it's probably much harder to control and release energy. It is possible to release a full power kamehameha with one arm as Gohan did but with 2 it's much better and stronger. The only reason Gohan overpowered him with one arm is because he's just that much stronger than cell. With 2 arms cell would've been finished in seconds if Gohan actually tried. But to answer your question someone with no injuries would have a much stronger one using 2 arms.

I remember back in the original Dragonball when Goku launched that Kamehameha via his feet. After i first saw that years later when i saw Gohan launch a Kamehameha using one hand i couldn't help but wonder if it would be possible to launch four Kamehamehas at the same time.

I've seen Luke Fon Fabre's Mystic Arte in Tales of the Abyss known as the Radiant Howl. I thought that looked similar to the Kamehameha wave. Though I've only played the N3DS port version of Tales of the Abyss. I never played the original PS2 version.

Kamehameha and Shinkuu Hadoken look very similar in hand motion, energy beam, and even color. I wonder if one inspired the other.

It's possible they're both just derived from Chinese wuxia movies that featured ki moves, since they had a lot of those back in the day (usually done with painted SFX). That pose is similar to some found in them.
