I first heard this song on a home-made cassette tape I found on the side of the road, back in 1978-79, in San Antonio. There was no label on it, but when I heard this, I fell in love with it. It spoke to me of all I had been through at the time. Never knew who the group was, but I let different people listen to it; one of my friends said they THOUGHT it sounded like a band named "AXE". I ended up losing the tape, so I began searching different music sites in hopes of finding it again. Everytime I would search "AXE", I never got any feedback on it. Finally, I searched again about a year ago, and found it. This song brings back a lot if bittersweet memories of those days in the 70's, back in my beloved city. It only took almost 40 years, but I am happy I finally found it.
Good story Mike, & Rick is right on! I lived in Austin back in the late 80's, and my roomdawg had a 25 foot high antenna for FM. We could "adjust it" with a rope lol! So on cloudy days we could get KISS-FM 99.5 and the Godfather, Joe Anthony cloud-bouncing in from San Antonio! I'm pretty sure i heard *Axe - Heat In The Street* on there! I had the "Demo" album that this song was on and before he left this world, Bill became obsessed with it, playing it over and over, then he would Cry. I'd ask him why and he would say, I don't know. it just speaks to me. I played this song at his funeral and realized that day why it made him Cry...It was his Life Story :o) So Guys...Thank You for Keeping this Song Alive :o) God Bless You All

We used to go and see Axe quite a bit in Gainesville, Florida in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They were one of the best bands I've ever heard and seen. Battles is my favorite song by them, although all of their music rocks!

Sadly People still do not realize how much we have lost and are still losing... The Left has stolen so much right in front of us .. Even the right to drive are cars/ and Muscle Cars ..in circles for hours and hang out on the Strip... The Cruze ..... etc The Contortion of NAFTA eviscerated over 50,000 American Automotive parts companies and then bought them for pennies on the dollar as they did and are doing in EVERY INDUSTRY... Private Truckers are no longer aloud in California... Unions no longer fight for the employees due to gifts and expensive dinners... Our way of life was on a great path and now it is so controlled... Most can not even comprehend what I am saying , even when put into such basic analogies.. Even hard for anyone to truly grasp the scope of what's going on. Unless you lived in many worlds, industries, turned in many circles, followed the Hypersonic Paper Work of laws and bills and Regulations each with their contracts and Pet Projects . Paper Work that controls our lives and is in such vast amounts that it is always quicker for politicians and tractors to have a dinner , cash their check and pass the bill than to even read what they passed. Many never knew, they just passed the Paper Work based on what they were told was on it.... Look at all the politicians on the left and see how they all have vast wealth and no way to account for it. Then look at the right like Red Stevens, accused of taking gifts and keeping them at his luxury cabin at an Alaskan Ski Resort Town.. In the end it was over a Crappy BarBQ that someone left and he has even sent emails for the person to come get it repeatedly.. As for the rest..Uncle Ted Was a Great Representative for Alaska and lives in a very weathered Cabin in GoodWood... No Luxury ANYTHING... Even though he was so powerful he made very little.. unlike even the weakest politician such as Ms Waters.. who has no way to account for her vast fortune representing one of the poorest districts and never representing them... Look into Red Stevens and 2800 other politicians, police chiefs , judges etc.. who all were accused of great crimes in the same voting year all just long enough to lose their votes to the left or userpers with no Honor... All later cleared with ridiculous findings such as a junk BarbQ... Think of your lives , businesses, things passionate to YOU AND travel in those bubbles and pay attention to laws and regulations that have been and are being passed.in those bubbles.. it is the only way we can even try to catch up... In Any Case. Any Thing is Possible.. This Is America... But recognize Wars are played on many fields in many different ways..
