Was feeling really inspired in the past few years with people like you and others exploring proa building. Ive built my own little proa this past year! Maybe I'll be inspired to post a video too
I own a set of Harris "Madness" plans. They are amazing- one of the best plans I've ever owned and I've owned a lot. I decided to go with a drier design, based on a larger Bernd Kohler P95 asymmetric Catamaran which needs no boards and is very very fast! My new design is a 26ft Cat that uses anti-vortex panels rather than boards to maintain a very low draft. . i would have built the madness but felt it just wasn't a great boat for world cruising and not as dry as many other designs. Even tho, my current design can cross oceans its still small, and limited on its carrying capacity. The madness Proa is definitely a technical build. but one of the most beautiful and well designed boats i have ever seen. i hope you upload any progress vids. it will keep me inspired. Also pls check out Bernd's P95, you will be very impressed, and seems it might even be less to build than the proa in costs. since it does not need loads of epoxy. bleachable, easy to build, and FAST and very dry in all conditions. rivalling the proa maybe faster. thanks! subbed.
definitely please make more videos! I myself have recently completed a large boat building project, and making videos often ment that viewers gave helpful suggestions, and also encouragement! motivation one of your most precious resources when building a boat! loved "kitchen and a bed" me too. I am living in a wharram pahi 31, but I only really use one hull! It could have been a proa!
cool to hear. I get more positive feedback from volunteers nowadays. Comments where always mixed. Mental health asked for stability in my life and negative input from strangers is something i could mix. and the positive people will find other joys in there lives besides my videos. In some ways not making videos makes it all more mysterious to one day maybe see a completion video...?
I was hoping you would continue posting your progress since I was inspired by your initial video. I have been obsessing about building my own catamaran
youtube isn't worth it/my thing anymore. Live your life without an audience. kinda tuned down allot of my social media. Don't feel the need to narrate my life or things I do I might make a video of lessons learned while welding aluminum etc. Some info that actually adds to the conversations and not just repeats. I kept this video because i couldn't find anything close or similar. One day I'll do a videotour of the completed boat getting to the point of insulating now... exciting
what happened to the last one,,, I am sure it was you that was about to build a 44ft proa out of aluminium,, based on the CLC Madness 31ft proa... am sure is the same guy ,, ur the guy that was cycling through Sudan years ago?
People think proas will be cheaper and faster than any other sailbout. The reality is that reversing the sails and rudder system requires complexity These systems never work as good as a conventional rig and negates the proas advantages. A catamaran can be built for the same cost..and is much easier to sail.
sometimes its much more than just convenience. A Proa uses less material and sails more smoothly. In the end the captain of a boat needs to love his vessel and if that means a strange design then so be it. The floating neutrinos crossed the atlantic with a godawful barge-esque monstrosity and are way more inspiring than a slick factory build/ordered catamaran.
Good luck! Nice proyect.

You're still the king. Good luck with this one.

The cap is priceless.
dang, it's too bad you never uploaded more vids, i would be interested in seeing your build
kinda active on reddit/boatbuilders
Great proyect , i hope you do another video soon to see your progress
probably not sorry
When you gonna make some more videos?!?!

Not a very clear explanation
sorry to hear that. I tried my best.
that has been debunked for years
BUILDING PROJECT SCRAPPED AFTER BUILDING THE MAIN HULL OF ALUMINIUM,,,
Ever heard of object permanence? It's not because you can't see the project that its not there.
