@ yeah even though Overkill are mainly considered a thrash band I’ve always felt they did their best work when they incorporated other things besides thrash into their music. In other words I tend to gravitate towards their more experimental and variety rich albums over their pure thrash releases
@MordredsSong I totally get that sometimes thrash is great but a one-trick pony especislly playing it blast beat after blast beat lol I also dig thr ritual from testament and force of habit by exodus as other examples. It's still good yet more melodic and diverse.
I appreciate your list. I have watched several Overkill album ranking lists on TH-cam and they are obviously all different, except for mainly the first 5 albums- they all seem to be in the top 5, or close to it. I'll have to go back and listen to WFO some more, maybe it will grow on me. I don't like Under the Influence too much. Ironbound is good, but not my favorite. My personal favorite is Years of Decay. My least favorite? Probably one of the string of albums from White Devil Armory to Wings of War.
Most consistent metal band of all time. Yeah same here watched a handful and usually first five or so albums at the top. Makes sense. For me personally, the late 90s up until around ironbound was kinda meh for me. So many albums where the songs weren't quite as memorable and liked only a few from each one at most. WFO does grow on you it did me. I hear black same. Lots hate it but I always liked it.
Hey Retro!!! Thank u for the shoutout .I appreciate it.youre too kind. I really enjoy overkill as much as you do. Have you heard the new release by them?
You're welcome and thank you as well! Yeah I love it one of their better ones very good. Probably top 10. Fever title track twist of the wick and bag o bones are my favs. I got the vinyl RSD as it was delayed a week lol.

@kevinbrown1893 can't go wrong with any of those top 5. If they had a down period it would he around 96 to 2010 but I think killbox 13 is awesome and I like from the underground and some of necorshine the rest are hard to really like a lot. The new album kicks so much ass too.
@gtaglia779 the 90s really killed metal mainstream wise and it hasn't really recovered in this country anyway. I don't know why everyone had to be rebellious wear flannel shirts lol but it was a dark time but then again it's still better than today's shit lol

I agree with WFO. It's unfortunate it was released in 1994 when Thrash was an afterthought and Grunge was all the rave.

Awesome one new one should be good.
No doubt. I dig wicked place
Overkill Feel the Fire better than Testament the Legacy man that's a stretch but hey to each his own
Yeah I love new order and ritual though but yeah to each their own
