Just go straight to 4:00 and set the speed to 2x. There, I just saved 4 minutes of your life. Also, you can see the lobster is desperately looking for a place to hide after he molted his old skin... Lobster after molting is the most vulnerable moments of his life, so he's terribly afraid at that moment. Don't surprise or even get close to him, he will get extremely stressed. You'd better put a pipe or something for him to hide.
no! He is a crustacean, not a puppy or a cat..unless his stress will kill it... Is it true these creatures are immortal? Something science should be seriously studying...
Technically lobsters aren't capable of dying of our concept of "old age" as their somatic cells produce telomerase, an enzyme that repairs telomeres - an essential part of cell division. The cause for true old age death is telomere shrinkage results in an inability to facilitate cell division and thus cells die and are unable to engage in mitosis beforehand. Thus telomerase eliminates this "life clock" and essentially allows for lobsters to live until the conditions that they face are insufficient for supporting their life, or they contract some sort of fatal pathogen.
The moment he sheds it he's like "AHH! Help! There's a dead body in here!" I wonder if they have an instinct to flee the area because the shell might attract predators or perhaps the are just soft and vunerabe immediately after shedding, so they look for cover until they toughen up.
You got it ! after shedding their exoskeleton, or moulting, they are in a soft & vulnerable state, so their immediate instinct is to hide under a rock until their exoskeleton firms up again

It has been argued that lobsters do not possess a true brain and so can't feel pain. *THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM >:)*
Thanks for the upload. Both of my kids really enjoyed the video. Excellent teaching moments.
put the poor little fella back in the sea
+Bolo Molo Mobile Gaming or it could have been bought to cook with.
yeah that tank is the real crime going on here
How long does it take for his newer shell to be hard enough to protect him?
when it was trying to crawl up the glass it looked like a face hugger from Alien.
when my android phone gets an update.
looks like he's dancing happily after getting out "woooo yea!" but seriously time for a bigger tank. and some nice rocks
it wasn't dancing for happiness, it was scared because it feels vulnerable without its shell.
holy fuck his antennae got long
He looks like he's thinking "see, I'm not sick. I'm ok, you can let me go now. You can let me out of here.
He looked freaked out when he came out of the shell.
"THIS WAS A MISTAKE"
Poor guy is terrified because he has nowhere to hide, arthropods run for cover after molting because they are fragile until their carapace hardens. Good thing he isn't in the wild.
why doesn't it have claws?
it's a spiny lobster
Spiny lobsters don't use claws for defense, thus they use spines ,why they are called "Spiny Lobsters"
+hitcan79 It's in a restaurant?
He lost the, in a game of sea poker
lobster): THIS ISNT EVEN MY FINAL FORM
Evolution is possible? Not only is everything in this creature damn complex, but even just what's seen here is.. insane! I don't understand how people can even begin to think they know enough about the universe to say evolution is the only way... I can't!
boy that thing is creepy looking when it bursts out of the shell. look at how long the antennae are
lol he looked at it like,... aahhh! get away from me!
It must have had an itch
that is amazing. he looks like hes trying to get away from his outer shell. or its his happy dance lol
freedom🎤🎵🎶
no he's just fcking sacred because he usually do it on a cave/somewhere hidden. he's instinc tells him "hey dude 1 more min exposed like this and you'r dead"
No........ He's trying to hide B/c the lobster is very vulnerable
This species is called a Spiny Lobster or Rock Lobster, and it lives in warm-water. The Lobster with claws, (the one you’re probably most familiar with) lives in colder, Northern waters.
So it's not supposed to have claws? Interesting, thank you for sharing.
He needs somewhere to hide in, put an old vase or a tunnel in there for him. But it was a cool video. Allow him to eat his shell too.
looks like a lot of work for the little fella
