Now that we're getting map art that can't be deleted then maybe it's time housemaster to enable player heads. Consider the factions that would pop up revolving around "head hunting".

Floating gravity blocks are still able to be placed in 1.16+ with a different glitch.
By placing the gravity block on the arm of an extended sticky piston attached to slime blocks that are unable to retract due to immovable blocks, when the piston arm is retracted the gravity block stays in place. This trick also works to get floating water blocks, as well as any other block that would normally need to be placed on another block.
The only question I have is if this works with paper 1.16.5 and Hause's redstone altering plugins.

inb4 someone starts a group with the goal of loading as many nether chunks as possible so that nobody can find the new biomes there
god that will be scary
just saying but the nether is 60 million x 60 million blocks so don't even think this is remotly possible any time soon. i did a bit of math to see how long it would take and even with 300 player each loading a new chunk every seconds it would take 1485 years to load all the chunk in a dimension.
that'll literally take forever some group trying to load chunks in the nether won't affect it much
im pretty sure there is no unloaded chunks anymore

For floating sand, it’s possible to use pistons in 1.16 to make them floating.
Man... imagine being so evil to advise unloading pearls right now hahahahaa
In 1.16 it is possible to make gravity blocks float. Have a sticky piston head that is extended facing into 13+ slime or honey blocks then place a gravity block on the side of the piston arm. When you remove power from the piston so the arm retracts, it will try to pull the slime or honey and fail to do so, this prevents the piston arm from sending out a block update to surrounding blocks even though the arm disappears. This allows for gravity blocks placed on the side of the arm to stay floating. As a side note, this also allows for lava and water sources to float in midair as well.
there are still ways to make floating sand in 1.16.
build what you see in the diagram below.

Now power the sticky piston, and place a sand block on the piston head.
If you now unpower the sticky piston, you get floating sand.

aaaaaand it's been 7 months
you might also want to go far out to new nether chunks so than when the world updates you can upgrade some of your tools and armor.
can't wait for the server to update in a decade or so
you can actually still make floating sand by having a sticky piston extended out underneath it attached to a slime block which is attached to more slime blocks that can't move. Then, you just retract the sticky piston and you get a floating sand, gravel, dragon egg, carpet, etc. This is the same bug used to create floating water in 1.16
Rays Works has a video on some item collections he does in each version before an update, making them vanishingly rare, like putting down enchanted pumpkins or keeping them inside a shulker. Or placing vines on ladders, stairs or w/e.
I would check out his 1.12 vid on the subject to get them all in the game before the update.
I'm just going to break the model of the alpha slabs so they can still have the missing textures, this is easily done btw. all you need to do is make a new minecraft block model and give the block a size invalid such as all the parts being negatives or making the block massive

OK, this video is awesome, and I love it, but I did manage to find a glitch (regarding your ender pearl glitch getting fixed)
If you are fast enough, you can still do the glitch and you will be teleported once someone loads the chunks the ender pearl was thrown in.
Throw the pearl, then unload the chunks, than its set. You can do whatever, then get your alt account to load the chunks and bam.
it still is possible to make floating sand on 1.16, by connecting a powered (sticky) piston to a configuration that doesnt let it pull it, retracting the piston wont cause any block updates (to most blocks) on the head, so you can make more stuff like floating sand, floating whatever, floating water, floating carpet, carpet on water, and more that i may not have listed

A good thing you should do is start duping/farming wool for beds so you can get netherite quick. Once players start getting netherite then diamond armour will look comical in comparison.
Also update aquatic’s new water logic means this will be your last chance for some illogical water usage. As long as no water blocks are updated you’ll be okay.
You can actually still make floating blocks in 1.16. Essentially, you place the gravity block on the top of the head of an extending piston (piston facing sideways). Then, you attach a slime block to the head of the piston, and another slimeblock below that one. Then you place obsidian under the piston head, and depower the piston head. The gravity block won't update, and you can now break the setup to leave it floating there

One thing I can think of that could be used is the rail dupe glitch in that version as it was patched although I'm sure other duple glitches will be found to dupe rails.

Another thing to consider checking in an offline account will be any illegal items like player heads. If you can generate a player head offline in 1.12.2 update the world to 1.16.5 and check and see if the player heads remain intact. These items may or may not work or even exist after the update so before you even consider opening a shulker or chest containing one of these, check first, this also includes 32ks if anyone still has any. These items could either vanish or be converted back due to the updates to papermc and the spigot plugins.
One other thing I would highly recommend if you use a hacked client, turn off EVERYTHING NOW, when you first reload into 1.16.5 2b2t, load in using vanilla Minecraft, and then log in with your hacked client and check every hack one by one. Do NOT rush this process. You want to test for client stability with any features it gives.
