    Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup th-cam.com/users/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

    Really enjoy throwing my TFO fly rods. Seeing where they come from, makes them that much better. I have no problem using non-American made, provided it is quality. Thanks for the video.

    I got a Temple Fork Outfitters, Lefty Kreh, 4 piece, 9.0'Professional Series II from Cabela's about 7/8 years ago, Cabela's replaced my first Temple Fork fly rod free of charge due to a break which I think was my fault. Good service! Best fly rod I've ever owned and I've gone through many since I started fly fishing when I was 12 years old, I'm 67 now and still fly fish. Just saw this video today, decided to watch it to see how my fly rod was made. Great fly rod!

I've been away from fly fishing for a very long time but the area I live in is capital to world class trout fisheries. Not to mention the world class Salmon River in NY.

    I use TFO rods trolling for Chinook salmon with downriggers. They get bent hard for hours and have a great backbone for bigger fish. Been fishing for almost 50 years and I would say , for the money, they are the best. Now I know why.

I am beginning research on fly fishing rods for a semester long project/research paper for my materials science and engineering class, and I found this video to be extremely useful for information and even just a starting point to jump off into. I also own a TFO rod myself, and find it extremely interesting to see exactly how it was made!

    Great video and great rods. I have been using TiCr X 5wt and 6wt for over 10 years. Great casting performance. I use them for large dry flies, heavy nymphing and trout streamers. They caught me marble trout up to 12lb. The recent Axiom 2x in 9wt I use for my pike fishing. Combined with rio outbound shot it casts large streamers including wiggle tails up to 80 feet without a problem. These rods will never let you down when you connect with a trophy fish or under adverse conditions. A large number of people buying ultra expensive rods are average casters afraid to break the rod. Tfo is a great value for money. Tight lines from Slovenia.

    • @bostjanflis6266
      @bostjanflis6266 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sad to report that the rod unexpectedly broke at the handle section at the strip strike!? Warranty claim was rejected. A repair fee was proposed. I will rather buy a new rod in higher class. However as initially said the casting performance was great. The cork handle is cheap an not ergonomic plus too small for a saltwater rod. And I am less than 6ft:-) So, 500 USD wasted.

    We have some excellent rods made right here is the USA. Let's promote our locally made products first and reward them with our business and support. Rod tapers and technology are the best right here in the USA.

    • @bobnery
      @bobnery 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      What American made rods are competitive with TFO pricing, and match the quality, and warranty? The same quality, and warranty will cost you twice as much at least, and usually much more for American labor. Not a great value. Also realize this, where do you draw the line with American made? Is labor enough, or do you want all the materials and equipment used to also be American made? We live in a global economy, there's no escaping that, it just boils down to where your line in the sand is. Also realize that the greatest names in Flyfishing have chosen to affiliate with TFO, that speaks volumes for the company. The new TFO Axiom II X can hang with the top of the line Sage, Orvis, or High end rod of your choice, for a third the price. I can't fault a consumer for wanting that performance, at that price, no matter where the thing is built.
