after holiday sales sometimes in clearance section of home depots, you can find the bulk dbl packs and triple battery packs on clearance. 3pack 3ah batteries are normally 199 or so, we find them from 60-75 marked down! My kids found these batteries easier then for ryobi on clearance, so they began buying them up when they find em on clearance, and bought into the tealblue product line haha.

I use a 3 or 5ah. If the slide-in is the same it would most likely work; however, if it’s not an oem makita battery then I wouldn’t use it. I’ve seen knock off batts catch on fire 🔥and melt
Also What a kind review! Ups and downs well done thx good job 👍 don’t suck up liquid with it though.

Thank you! That's very scary that you've seen the batteries malfunction like that. Makes me think twice before using my off brand one!

Yours is 18v. You may already know that there is a makita 40v version which has more than twice the suction power (eg can lift a 200g object unlike the 18v) . And comes in a bagged and bagless version. Bagged makes emptying a less messy operation. Unfortunately the bagged version does not have a hepa filter and the bags are not hepa either. A hepa filter is optional on the bagless.

yes, but that 40v version does *NOT* work with the Makita batteries that most people (who own/use Makita products) already own, so essentially you'll have to pay more for a new set of batteries just to use this 40v vacuum..... *NO THANKS* !

That's true, Makita's old and popular LXT (18V) batteries are not compatible with the new Makita XGT (40V) tools such as this 40V vacuum cleaner. Only XGT batteries will fit XGT tools but you can buy them on sale sometimes. While many people feel that the new Makita 40V tools should be compatible with older 18V batteries, a 40V tool would be much weaker with an 18V battery so I don't quite see the benefit of backwards compatibility in this particular case.

Thank's so much ! I would like to buy this one but do you know if a 5.5Ah battery can work with ?

I'm not sure what is technically recomended but I've used that size battery and it works perfectly for me! The bigger the battery, the heavier the vacuum though, so keep that in mind.

Take the filter outside and just flick your finger at it to clean it
