I've had my Dyson animal for a decade it seems and I just converted it to accept Ryobi batteries. It was an absolute game changer. Dyson quality with swappable batteries that I have tons of because I have Ryobi tools.
@@wheelofcheese100 --- Price doesn't matter . You get a sealed system at these prices when you buy a Shark .Lack of a sealed system is a deal breaker for ME as well . Your room shouldn't smell weird after you vacuum . If it does , you need to look for a better vac . The biggest "deal maker" for me is the battery system. I already have the Ryobi One+ batteries for my power tools, so it means I don’t have to worry about running out of charge halfway through a cleanup. My current Dyson has about a 5-10 minute duration before it gives up the ghost.
@@Rob_F8F I agree there . Part of the reason that I bought the Shark vac that I did was because you could buy an extra battery and swap it out after the first one is discharged (about 20 minutes or so), allowing us to finish the whole house without waiting hours for a recharge .
Yes! Been waiting for this video review. 😁 I really like Ryobi. I have their battery push lawn mower. My kids love mowing the yard with it. 🤩You did a great job in demonstrating these machines. I really liked the smoked test. Bravo 🙌🏼🎊
This attachment at 1:42 is called a Dust Daddy. It was made in the past to be used with any vacuum. Ryobi just decided to make their own version of it in their color.
Have care with Ryobi Stick Vac's the hose for the floor piece will break w/in 3 months of purchasing and they seem to use a proprietary hose size so after you take it apart and attempt a repair it leaves you frustrated. My fault for not doing the warranty. But if there is an issue you can't get parts. Shark at the bare minimum has parts available to repair.
This is nice info, as i just returned the last year model today(R18XSV9PET142), as i claimed warranty (65days) on the broken hose (between the main motor head and the stick), the hose got two slits (left and right side) which makes less suction. Sadly this is the 2nd time i returned it, i have purchased the 1st one last July and broke on Sept with same slit issue. It seems the hose is very stiff and when being used, swinging left and right of the vacuum it causes to break. I was wondering if the hose of these three new models will be as flexible as the Hoover ONEPWR Evolve Pet Elite Cordless Vacuum.
Great info man, quick question... Can the wet dry Ryobi vac run as a vacuum only? Meaning is there a switch that I can choose that will turn off the flow of the water even if there is water inside the canister? Thanks man.
@@vacuumnerds cool , so You can confirm that there is a switch that turns the water off and on and allows for vacuum mode only? It doesn't have to be great it's just for basic cleaning around the kitchen when the floor is not dirty. Thanks again man for the response..
Nearly every model of Shark with a dual roller head is designed so that only the fluffy roller is easily removable. The traditional or powerfins roller requires you to disassemble the entire head. This is true of the corded Vertex upright and the Vertex Pro lightweight. I'm also pretty sure that the original Vertex cordless and the Vertex Pro cordless upright.
Thanks for covering them all, please cover tne cyclone design, the ryobi high capacity unlike the hoover and hart variant and all other ryobi vaccums, it has multiple cyclones.
9:15 So if i take the battery out of the vacuum, place the vacuum on the base, and hit the self cleaning mode, it will self clean? Where does that power come from?. You didnt say the base has a battery. And u took battery out of vacuum. Im not being a smartass, this is a sincere question.
Just discovered your channel. Really cool! I just have a question. Here in Europe/Germany Austria, there is a vacuum brand called Vorwerk Kobold (the same company that makes the Thermomix). They are super expensive and owners swear they are better than the Dyson ones. Would it be possible to test them? That would be amazing! Cheers
Bro, your cuts during the most important parts are terrible! Why are you cutting away instead of showing how clean the floors are? Why are you cutting away when you say, "See how easy this is?" To after it's done. This entire video makes me think the vacuums are garbage because you are constantly cutting away.
TTI manufactures products for Hoover, Ryobi and several other brands. It's safe to say there will be some differences and variations between the different brands.
The one-plus battery is the difference. I all ready have six batteries that I can use with the vacuum AND about twenty different tools that I own. I don’t think Hoover can match that.

I didn't even know you could do this!
@@vacuumnerds doesn't JUST work for Ryobi either. If you have DeWalt or Milwaukee, you can get adapters for those as well.
Unsealed canister is a deal breaker. HEPA filtration does not work if the canister leaks all the dust and allergens back into the air.
Appreciate the comment
Agreed. So disappointing 😢 but what did I expect for the price 🙂

Really excellent production value on your vids! Don't see this often.

Glad you found it helpful. These seem to be well built vacs, and I've used their tools for years without any problems.
TTI Floorcare owns Ryobi, Hoover, and Hart among many more brands. You’ll see variants of these machines under Hoover and Hart.
Indeed
Can you do tests on the most popular backpack vacuums that also have a power nozzle?
Good suggestion

Doesn’t the roller with dirt, food or sand get back onto the floors when wet?

I think you can use it solely as a dry vac, although it's not tremendously effective in that mode.

I have a shark vertex with dual brush roll, and it has a quick release brush roll, so I am not sure why you don't think Shark gives you that.
You're right the Vertex does this, but some other models I have don't. (I just got the Vertex).

does anyone know the suction power of the wet dry version?
It's pretty difficult to measure because of the open head design. It relies on the roller to push the dirt into the passage.
Are the wheels hard plastic or coated with rubber?
They are a firm rubber compound. They have a little bit of grip.
