Hey great demonstration video CharkBait! Been on the saltwater scene for the better part of my 40 years and have fished with all of the brands out there. And let me say that Avet is winning me over for workmanship and durability. Added a JX and MX to my arsenal recently and love fishing them up to their capabilities. Thanks again for teaching me more on how to get the most out of my reels. TUNA UP!
Thank you for this great video! I am taking a 5 day trip on the Polaris Supreme in August and bought a JX 2 speed with the magic cast to take the place of my ancient penn 4/0. What a great reel this thing is. I can't wait to use it! I may even buy an SX to replace my 500 Jigmaster. Going to hang on to my Japanese Bike maker two speed for trolling for now but they are so big and bulky It would be nice to replace them with these as well.
It's personal preference. You can't say that it's superior for 9 out of 10 fisherman, otherwise, all of us reading your post will say you only know 10 people. :) It really depends on the person. Here's the proof that a lot of people wind conventional reels with the right hand - SALES cold hard sales. The lefties don't sell as much. Now you can go to your 9 other buddies and shake their hands. :)
7:27 Avet reels has something completely unprecedented....a lifetime warranty on the drag itself....something that is very cool....if you can think of another company that has a lifetime warranty on the drag itself, let me know, because I sure as heck can't find one.
I have been wanting to ask this for a while, with the mxj mc can you fish for albacore? given if fish correctly. thank you for your time keep the videos coming they help alot!
i want to get an avet but there are so many. i want one to fish for snook around piers and jetties but i also want to use that same reel for tarpon and grouper. what can u suggest? thanks
First off, great video. I've been wanting to get a reel more suited for 20lb line, so I've been considering purchasing the sx. However, I'm a little concerned with the small capacity the sx offers, so would I be able to effectively fish 20lb line on the mx or should I just stick to the sx?
Depends upon how much line your application requires. If you load 30# braid as a backing, say 300 yards you'll still have room for over 100 yds of 20 lb. mono - that should be plenty of capacity. if you go straight mono, perhaps 200-220 yds is where you'll end up - and I'd say that's short.
@@WestCoastOutdoors Albacore don't pull all that hard, they go into a spiral mode on the fight more often than not and 20# line can be sufficient for fish of say 40# and down, with most albies in the 20-30 range. So yes, 200 yds can be plenty...unless you get picked up by something larger and it is not uncommon for albacore and bluefin to be mixed in an area, both like water temps of similar range.
Joe With a low gear you are able to turn a fish and gain line when otherwise you'd be playing a standoff game and have more difficulty gaining line. So, yes you can probably pull in a larger fish faster, at least gain line back more easily.
At those sorts of weights, I"m thinking the best cast control will be an educated thumb! A mechanical system would severely restrict your casts, and it's heavy for a mag system.
just to input my 2 cents. I am technically left handed, but i reel with my right hand. Ive only had one opportunity to go offshore, had a spinfisher with the handle on the left, ended up hooking into a 50 inch ling, i had absolutely no muscle memory in reeling the reel and pulling the rod with it being backwards. I will NEVER do that again. If you have one arm that is that much stronger than the other, time to get to the gym! haha
Best to contact us at our shop for specific feedback. However, having said that, we do stock some wonderful travel surf rods. And, we can certainly supply Daiwa/Okuma/Penn surf rods. Here, the surf game is really LIGHT lines, so we rarely keep much inventory on hand other than the light 2-6lb type gear that's used for local corbs and surf perch. No big fat stripers in SoCal other than reservours unfortunately.
+Carter Dirado Depends upon the line test being fished, drag setting required and line capacity you need. Those factors determine the correct reel for your application.
Hola buen día me gustaría saber si vende atarraya de brioles para carnada de 4 metros de alto y cómo podemos hacer para comprarle una y algunas otras cosas que vea en su canal ,gracias y estoy pendiente de su respuesta

why is SX not made in LEFT HAND WIND!!!!!!!!! -driving me crazy! this perverse logic of the right hand wind multiplier -90% of fixed spool users prefer LEFT HAND WIND! -no difference just because rod upside down -total madness!
for christ's sakes, when you are playing big fish you want your stronger right arm pumping the rod and your weaker left hand winding in -IT IS SO OBVIOUS IT MAKES ONE WANT TO CRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -LEFT HAND WIND IS SUPERIOR FOR 9 out of 10 fishermen

Thanks. Very informative video.

Tacklecentral Fishinglandia Truth reels has a lifetime warranty on the whole reel.
If you wouldn't mind, please can you put labels next to each reel you are discussing. It got a bit confusing for an old geezer like me.

@@CharkBaitUSA So 200 yards is not enough to fight Albacore? I have never fished for them.thx

@@CharkBaitUSA thanks for the info!
Which model/setup is appropriate for top water lures? Yellow, mahi, etc.
How would the mxl or mxj work for kayak trolling for kings and even pier fishing?
I have a ?. So how does 2 speed work? Do you use it when cranking in a fish or when jigging?
Low gear for greater cranking power - once you are hooked up.
ohh so its not to pull in a fish faster?

Can the mc cast control hold up to casting 14-16oz weights for bait fishing? Thinking about buying a sx with mc cast for sturgeon fishing.
I think that's asking a bit much of a magnetic system to work with.
CharkBaitUSA Thank you sir for the quick reply, Do you have any recommendations for a real that can do the job with some kind of cast control?
At those sorts of weights, I"m thinking the best cast control will be an educated thumb! A mechanical system would severely restrict your casts, and it's heavy for a mag system.

can you suggest me good surf casting rod for pendulum cast as well as suitable avet reel! thanks
please suggest some good fishing rod and not out and out casting rod only

do you have the mxl gunmetal in stock
isnt 9 to 14 pound drag to small? That is my only problem with it.
No it's not for sportfishing. Most people go way overkill on tackle and have never been spooled in there lives.
Hi I fish for stripers on the east coast. What size do you think would be best because I troll for them.
