- We spend a night in one of the many bothy dotted across the UK, Spit hope Bothy!
something doesn't feel right! and I get spooked! Its a great place to stay, and the weather doesn't disappoint too.
The bothy is situated on an ancient cross border drove road with a large dry stone wall enclosure to the rear of the building. It could have been an open night resting place for the drovers and their stock on their journey to the markets in the south. When this trade ceased it became a ‘keb hoose’ where a shepherd would ‘set on’ orphan lambs with ewes which had lost lambs. Keb Sike runs nearby. It is also believed to have been used as a shooting hut.

Spent a night at Green Bothy a few years ago. Walking towards it, we (three of us) saw someone standing drinking outside. Saw us then went inside. When we got there we expected to be greeted by them but we found the place deserted!!! Only one entrance/exit. Apart from that, nothing else happened. Now Roughside Bothy!! Well, that's a different story!!
Stayed at green bothy many times but not seen anything yet. But I've heard weird things in the night.

I noticed when you entered the bothy at the start for the first time and said hello! There was something already filming you coming in. That's spooky 😲

Great video, something good to watch as I’m missing my camp this week due to having Covid. Other half is out for a wild camp on his own not far from that bothy. Like a proper winter wonderland and great drone footage.

Not stayed there yet. Sometimes when the weather is poor, I wander up there for a brew and a some lunch. Nice place to chill out.

Are bothys built just for travelers OR did someone live there, such a as a shepard or farmer?
I think you are just revving yourself up. Those sounds were just the crackling of the fire.
Bothers are old buildings that were once old farm buildings or used by Shepards etc they have been given over to the MBA (mountain bothy association )who run them across the UK any hikers can use them as long as they do not abuse them and stick to the bothy code 👍

Managing woodlands well requires managing light levels to create a diverse structure within your woodland, with diversity of plant species on the ground, at shrub height and in the canopy. This can be achieved by harvesting trees sustainably, encouraging regrowth and regeneration, and providing plenty of open space as well as edge habitat where bramble and shrubs grade into high forest. This diversity in plant species and structure supports the food chain of insects, birds and mammals within the woodland by providing a range of food sources and shelter, with niches for nesting, roosting and hibernating. hope that helps? 🙏

Why wont you reveal where the secret bothy is you dont own it and they're there for others to enjoy i find that very selfish of you to be honest im not saying it for myself i wouldn't bother going to these places i travel the himalayas and the hindu kush and karakoram mountain ranges i dont roam the moorlands of the uk but others watching your channel do or people wanting to start up young couples etc might want to stay in a nice one and have a good experience so why would you want to keep it secret? Its not your property is it very very selfish im sorry to say

And it's a bit sad to pick up on a word or two that isn't spelled properly don't you think and again read the comment properly spooky gran I mean girl and you'll see I'm talking about is the silly little top secret area 51 bothy he mentioned that he doesn't want to tell anyone about I couldn't care less about it to be quite honest the British countryside doesn't impress me at all after the places iv been to places you could only dream about or see on TV places like Tibet and the Hunza Valley and chitral in the North of Pakistan look these places up and you'll see breath taking scenery thats why I couldn't care less about a shepherd's hut in the middle of the moors I'm just thinking about others who are into uk bothys and should be given the opportunity to visit the best of the best to have a good experience but when someone who DOESN'T OWN IT wants to keep it a secret I find it very very selfish and that's my humble opinion
