- Can you use catfish to catch big fish? I'm fishing with some of the best bait for fishing, and I've got the fishing rods and fishing reels to handle it all! Join me as I use a fishing drone to take out some HUGE catfish bait with friends for some huge catches. When in Texas, you gotta catch some big fish.

Have you ever caught a sea turtle by accident I did I called the harbore Master & cuts off my line & I don't have to a pay a fine for $500.00 for it in southern south longbeach harbore peer,I was using a huge fish hook& for bait is ground mullet ?
I just got recommended a video from you. The Mountain Dew Soaked Shrimp one.
I was a little in shock with it working.
But, I had a couple of other silly ideas I wondered if they would make an interesting challenge for you.
1. Marichino (sp?) Cherry juice soaked Shrimp.
2. The Mountain Dew Shrimp...but in Fresh water...as I am curious to know if something like this can work with fresh water fish or only in salt water.
I will probably never fish in an Ocean. I live way too far away, have too many health issues and just probably will never see the ocean again.
But, I do enjoy fishing and want to do some this spring and summer. So if something unusual can land some fish...I say...why not try it?
I know fish love Bread as well. Granted, I don't think it works as a bait other than maybe for traps, but...if you can figure out how to make that one happen...go for it as well.
I have also heard a lot of people swear by orange Soda soaked baits that it catches catfish. (Sunkist especially).
So I would be interested to see if any of them work.
Also...if you want the baits to be firmer (Because the acid in some sodas like Mountain Dew degrades the shrimp....freeze them after the soaking to firm them back up or do your salt mix on it).
Not bad come fish where I fish by golden gate bridge , I'll give you my cellphone number if you up to a challenge

Catfish are the best bait for giant grouper, but you have to fish over a wreck or some sort of structure
Have caught may of shark and bull reds using live and even cut cat fish and gafftop for bait

Thanks for all the good tips! What kind of drone did you use to get the bait so far out?
I use chunked catfish for grouper, sharks and tarpon.
The skin on them is super good for bait just using little strips, got about 20-30 pinfish on just 3 little slices.
We used to break the fins of catfish and use them live for tarpon bait on the Nueces County, TX, piers when there were no mullet or other live bait to catch. Butter Perch were the best bait when available. They are a small drum/croaker with bright golden yellow colored sides and belly.
Since when does catfish live in the sea, salt water? Am I missing something here?
There's also fish that can walk on land and fly.

There's at least two kinds of saltwater catfish in the gulf of Mexico and they both have venomous spines! Gafttop catfish and hard head catfish

Gday from Queensland...I've caught 2 ft catfish in sea here...And rivers under tidal influence are half salty, so catfish+shark lurk there too

When u fish with a fixed weight, by the time the line moves the fish has picked up bait + weight. When droning smaller baits, i have found a tighter drag setting to work better. Curious if you have experienced the same or prefer a looser drag on droned bait/fixed weight.

man those blacktip's make the best bait. Hook a big chunk of b-tip and drop it out there and the hammers and bulls will tear it up. It's crazy to see when on a boat while you're reeling in a 100-150 lb b-tip and a 400-500 lb hammer just smokes it.
Haha I gotta see if that’s legal first, also I’m scared to kill sharks because I don’t want karma to hit me and then they kill me next time I’m in the water
@@HeySkipper In Florida it is legal to keep and harvest one of 14 different sharks per day. You'll also need to take an online course and get a permit if shore fishing. So much fun!

I caught an 11ft tiger shark last August near Corpus Christi on the same size Gafftop. Elephants eat peanuts.

Seeing guys using drones to drop bait especially on a windy day seems too bold to do. Some guys I've seen frozen bait w/potato cannons & of course kayaks. But that's real creepy to do if your fishing at night & you had been chummin earlier..But this was cool to watch.

If you were close to rocky areas you could catch grouper with that.
I’m not sure there was rocks near us, but rocks means fish!

I just started fishing for the first time ever in my life... I'm 34... I want to catch fish to eat even if they're maybe "trash" ones haha. But i can't seem to catch anything. Bait gets lost or stolen by fish or my line gets caught on something and I can't reel it back in. It's pretty frustrating. I wish I had friends who liked to fish or someone in person here who I could learn from. 😢

Hi looks like you all are still have lots of fun you may of already have answered this but here goes , the shark had a pilot fish with it did you make sure they went back together as there was an edit in the footage and what’s the point of catching and not tagging as you have done in the past. I once caught a 6' bull shark on almost exactly the same bait while camping at Pass Cavallo.
I guess they don't know your not supposed to drag a shark backwards it can cause them to drown.
