    Wow, I saw this video 1 month too late. I used to use the torch/ socket and drill method. Easy and cheap, sure but after 50 or so rounds, drove me nuts. I researched for about a year and last month got the "ugly annealer", and have been very happy. For about the same price, your machine does just as well as mine, but has WAY more features, such as the case prep. Case prep centers you can easily spend over $150 for. The value of this machine is amazing. I was just a month too late to get the value of your machine. Dang it, man! At least my wife loves me.

    That type of annealer is much the same from one to the next. If it has a decent drive motor and timer, it'll work. There are a few different wheel styles from brand to brand, and different ways to mount or apply the propane nozzle. And then, it is also subject to the quality of the propane used to give it steady heat.

      Propane doesn't really change. Yes, you can use MAPP+ for faster heating. But it really comes down to the nozzle. This kit comes with a quality benzomatic torch. It also includes a prep station which you don't see very often on other units, giving you an added value.

    Nice video, however could you repost with better audio, if your video software can boost the sound. Thanks for the infor

      Sorry, it was summer in Texas in my garage. Had to have a fan on to not die.

    I dont know but a deep socket in the cordless drill turning in front of the propane torch works well and is basically free .

      Also what I used to do. This is just much easier and fast. Plus I can let it run while I do other things. The added prep station is what made it worth the money.

    also check out the EP 2.0 annealer! I love my EP annealer. Inexpensive and anneals from 5.7x28 to 50bmg and adjusts in seconds with no extra parts or removing any parts. less than the burst and ugly too

    How did you set the time correctly for perfect annealing? ie how do you know how much time it takes?

    • @NOTSOSLIMJIM
      @NOTSOSLIMJIM  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Testing. I took some rounds that were junk, and played with the timing. I would then test them out on the press, and I came up with a time that worked.

    I was wondering if annealing 57 would damage the case coating. I’m guessing not then.

    • @NOTSOSLIMJIM
      @NOTSOSLIMJIM  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It absolutely will. I don't use the factory case lacquer. I have found that it is not needed in the firearms I use.

    I used the original anneal rite , and that has to be the least expensive unit out there .

      @NOTSOSLIMJIM  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Does it come with a prep station?

    I don't know about cheapest. I spent less than 150.00 on the beanmachine. Also I don't need to swap parts to do different sizes of brass. All you need to so is rotate the brass holder. The bean machine Is a great DIY annealer.

    • @NOTSOSLIMJIM
      @NOTSOSLIMJIM  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I make the claim "cheapest" due to the fact you get the machine, torche head, hose, and it works as a prep station.

    Why would apiece of factory loaded ammo develop a split neck just sitting in a GI ammo box?

    • @jsharp1776
      @jsharp1776 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The powder is degrading and was not properly washed of the acid in making it. And the brass is now being eaten away from this.

  • @richardthompson3296

    Is it capable of anneling loaded ammo ? I have a bunch of loaded rounds that have cold welded them selves. This would allow me not to have to pull them apart and ruin the components. I could just enjoy shooting them instead.

      Definitely not what you want to do. Because your ammo will explode by heating it.

      @@NOTSOSLIMJIM , I'm working on my laptop, but when hooked up to my seperate monitor the sound is projected from that monitor speaker. Maybe I will try watching tonight from just laptop and not from monitor. I'm interested in your review because I am beginning my own research for a purchase soon. Thanks for doing the video...I'll work on getting it to play correctly.
