The countercades are good in my opinion they just look like a modern day coleco arcade tabletop and we all had these electronic bartop arcades as a kid even if it wasn’t an actual arcade game , have no idea why a Simpson’s or xmen bartop never came out as I would of definitely bought them ones

Would be cool if they diversified the games on the Countercades

I’m a huge Countercade fan and have the Class of ‘81 and play it often and so do my grandkids.
Wish there were more Countercades available such as Tron or Dragons Lair.
I got mine for $99 on Black Friday and fell like they are worth off sale maybe $149 but not $199 unless they add WiFi and ability to game with others online for that price point.
I’m a Player One kinda old school guy so it doesn’t bother me at all, but I do see that it would be very smart to add it for the mass market appeal as it would be great like you said.
My next countercade will likely be the Marvel Superhero’s and then mod it out the whazooo as my mutlicade counter game.
Class of ‘81, I am happy to keep as is.
Sure wish they make more Counter or even Partycades because to experience is good enough and the price point is much less than the 3/4 Riser, Deluxe or XL products.
And yeah these are very reminiscent of the Coleco back in the day (my Donkey Kong is no longer functional but I loved it) but with a very close to actual arcade experience
If you want a more original experience, you might just need a real restored game and then these are not for you.
Great video and thanks for sharing your thoughts and starting a good topic of conversation

Great Video on Pros and Cons on bartop countercades..here's my intake on 1 player countercades..
The games look acceptable for 1 player as suitable for single person ( Street Fighter , Mortal Kombat , NBA Jam or TMNT ) to enjoy on 8" screen playing Solo.
But it can be boring playing alone against the same computer , and yes , its would be better as able to play WIFI as more exciting against or tag teams with your friends against computer or others anywhere/anytime in the other parts of the countries..
And as for the 2 player countercades which includes Lighted Marquee , Left side headphone jack for private listening or connect to amplifier for more louder punchy boomy sounds . Right side comes with 5VDC USB for phone charger or external LED light if playing in pitch black room.
The 2 players countercade console would be the better over 1 player console ( playing against each others or team up or against the computer ) as also i heard only 2 player consoles can be modded with more games ( that right side USB is what needed to add on more addition games )..
Btw..there is absolutely No Way of adding on WIFI circuitry due to not enough space in those countercade consoles electronics board..
( and if they manage to redo whole circuit board design with WIFI On Line Plays on these countercades consoles ? )
The 3/4 deluxe or full size XL consoles would then not sell well due to those countercades with wifi then more popular because of small , light , mobility and can even use a 5V extra capacity amp power battery pack to power up game consoles to then be able to play when at park picnic and or camping inside a tent with NO 120v power outlet.

Yeah, I really think the wifi is a missed opportunity in these units - 1up would seriously benefit by making this feature standardized across their units as it would increase appeal and replay value. I don’t hate the countercades, I just wish they offered more, especially for their retail priced

Great video.. As far as the countercade, I see the appeal of the product but for me it isn't the form factor I am not looking for unless come out with a title that has not been on deluxe/3 quarter scale market!

      Thank you!
Yeah, the countercades are kind of a weird product to me from 1up, with a lot of potential that hasn’t been fully explored yet by 1up which is unfortunate

No don’t buy one. Instead of buying a ton of this crap, buy 1 quality semi commercial grade arcade machine with multi board. I had two, my ssf2 had bad board, replaced, then monitor died, I had less than 10 hours, I swear. The other I believe was a 13 in 1. Left game on, went to sleep. Monitor was so weak, I could barely see game. I had replaced the spinner with a quality one, despite this sold on marketplace for 50 bucks to dump it. Junk. The argument is I don’t have space! But people have space for like 6 of them, at 4 hun a pop, u could get a really nice mame arcade. There r a ton of custom builders out there, u can get a machine in any size.

Everyone’s goals are different, I like the ability to have multiple units at a reasonable size, I haven’t had the same issues others have had with 1ups. I have a commercial unit and it’s very large, heavy and was a nightmare to get down my stairs in my small basement.
1ups are far easier to maneuver around, but I also understand the trade off is the level of quality you get from a commercial size unit
