I’ve had the Series 3 for years now, and it’s been a good workhorse. I use the watch specifically for fitness stuff, so I’m upgrading to the Series 7 due to its updated HR sensors. As my watch has aged, it’s not only slower, but the battery almost dies by the evening if I do any significant workout (30 minutes or more), updates are a pain because of the small storage (I store nothing on it and still have to reset it each time), and the HR sensor has gotten very finicky. Unless I wash it before and after each exercise, there’s a decent chance it won’t pick up my heart rate consistently, and it’s stopped being able to track my running pace. Regardless, it’s been a great friend to me over the years and I’d still recommend it to someone who wants a fitness-based watch for relatively cheap.
Apple does this for a few reasons: 1. Budget friendly. 2. Reuse all apple’s old parts. 3. Let people compare in store and end up paying more for a higher end model. 4. Series 4,5,6 would not show that big of a difference with their series 7 or 8 now. Apple only does tiny upgrades.
As someone with a Series 1, the (completely justified) complaints about the Series 3 were somewhat amusing. Even that thing is orders of magnitude faster than the Series 1 haha. Just ordered a Series 7, though, (same price as the current SE) so going from the smallest to the largest (non-Ultra) watch should be quite a transformation.
at 8:00, on the Series 7, the clock is behind your head. Is that something the watch does with portrait images or do you have some sort of custom face?
I need help picking one out , i want one newer than the 3 series. I like music and working out and if it can work with my phones in terms of messages and calls
I bought my very first Apple watch (it’s S7) and I noticed that I cannot connect my ipad air to my watch.. Is that normal? Or there is no support yet for that?
I have a series 3 right now I had it since my 5th grade graduation which was almost 4 years ago and I am a freshman in high school now and I am getting the series 7 soon so thank you for the information
I know it’s a bit of a minor step, but I went ahead and upgraded to the Series 7 41mm from the 5 40mm, one because I have had step tracking issues with the 5 during runs outside, and also because I haven’t really been able to wear it often with the previous job I had (worked with a lot of cleaning and sanitation chemicals) so I ended up just leaving it on the charger the whole time. Lo and behold the battery endurance is down to 86% which is a significant decrease. Now that I’m at another job where I don’t work around chemicals hardly ever, I’m getting back to wearing it just about every day and it really helps me keep track of where I am, health and fitness wise; but I’m definitely not getting as long a battery life as I should be getting. Also, I would like to know if the watch bands from the Series 5 40mm will work with the 7 41mm. It doesn’t seem like the form factor has changed THAT drastically where it won’t fit properly and the watch band I’m using right now I really like (I think the color’s called Midnight Blue, it’s the Sport Band with the Velcro loop).
Is it ok to upgrade to SE from series 5? My watch just died after 2.5 years. I just ordered the SE. I don’t want to upgrade to 7 because of the price. I just need something for my workout. Lol
It depends on what you value I have no problem I bought another series 3 I voice text on it auto respond check my heart rate and also let me know when the stand and tracks all my exercise that’s all I need the only thing that would make me consider any of the other ones is the fall feature maybe it is not the same size as my phone no matter how big they make the thing somethings are just better to do on your phone. I also have a very thin wrist so I like the 38 size
He meant for the price, buying 3 new is not worth it anymore. If you get a good deal or already have it, keep using it till you feel you need an upgrade!
If there are people looking at the series three I got given my mums old one and yea it was great to start off with I went to a gshock a year later mostly for the battery and durability and I am looking at getting the series 7 has there’s a lot more choices for 3rd party cases and so on but if your a parent and are looking at getting a series3 for your kid yea it will be nice but go for the se it will last longer in the future and it will be better overall. As well on the series three I had the gps modal and I got the notifications faster on my phone then my watch as the odd time it didn’t notify me, just some food for thought.
I’m currently buying my sisters series 3 that she got back in 2018-19. I know that the series 3 isn’t the best but I’m still excited for my first smart watch. I think it will make a good introduction in smart watches for me
I just got 7 series and waiting for delivery, I had “Sony Smartwatch 3” before this, as looking for hyped upgrades changes I realized I had most of them on my 6-7 years old watch!
All I can say is there all awesome but if you have series 3 on 🆙 theres no reason to update to 7 series to be honest unless you break your watch just do your update save your money because every year it’s a new model it’s so hard to keep up I have the 3 series 42 mm with cellular and haven’t had any issues as of yet… and good review on the watches.
Did I make a mistake by upgrading from the Series 3 to the SE? Should I have gone for the Series 7 instead? I don’t have any heart problems so the EKG would be useless for me. But I don’t know.
Agree completely with Vadim here. Nobody should buy the Series 3 going into 2022. My wife has the Series 3 and it is such a dog - going to upgrade hers asap. Apple should be embarrassed to be selling this model, and in my mind it devalues the brand (as an Apple shareholder). We looked at picking up a Series 6, but the discounts are not enticing enough to not just go straight for the Series 7 as she’ll keep it for years, as Vadim points out as well. Cheers!
They are providing some semblance of variety and choice for those that may prefer the smaller form factor and cheaper price and Apple doesn’t have to spend money to re-tool their manufacturing process. But really, Apple should update from the old square screen and thin out the bezels and maybe update the sensors. At this point it’s just better for the consumer to go with the SE. Honestly I just think it’s on the roster for as long as the processor can handle the latest Watch OS.

You guys do the absolute best product reviews! So thorough and detailed.. Congrats on your success and it's well deserved😊
Series 3 cannot upgrade to watchOS 9, can it still connect to iOS 16, 17, 18? I doubt
Hi bro which one can you recommend for someone who want to use an Apple watch for the first time? Thank you so much
also the series 7 i also recommend because it has all the latest features but the series 6 is now half the cost of the 7
I’m upgrading from a the original first gen Apple Watch. Should I get a series 7 or a SE?
What is the name/color of the green band on the 7 in your video?
My big problem is the keyboard se SE44mm doesn’t have
is it still worth buying se now?
hey! what's the difference between it recording your heart rate and getting an ECG done. they're pretty much the same thing!
Always on display in series 7 is a game changer
at 8:00, on the Series 7, the clock is behind your head.
Alls i wanna know is it still worth to get a series 3
Does the always on display kill the battery?
Wouldn’t say it kills the battery but your gonna get longer out of the SE
What do you think of change from S5 44mm to S7 45mm?
It's really not much different, size wise.
I have an apple watch series 3. Should I upgrade?
Yes. I just upgraded from a series 3 myself.
went from series 0 to series 7 and Its a huge upgrade
Where can I get the posters in your background?
I got my first Apple Watch ever and just went for the series 7 because if I’m getting my first one I might as well get the latest one.
And how is it?
I have a series 3 right now I had it since my 5th grade graduation which was almost 4 years ago and I am a freshman in high school now and I am getting the series 7 soon so thank you for the information

Really like your professional opinion on these watches. Keep it up!
Yes, they work perfectly fine. Even the bands from the Series 3 and older will work just right with the Series 7.
I just brought a SE Yesterday and it’s awesome
I have the se model and it really works for 18 hours after eighteen hours too I have about 23%
Is the stainless version worth even more?
I updated from series 2 to 7 and I’m in love!!!!
I love the series 2 the best, but charging it is like waiting for your flight to arrive lmao
You're showing smoothness in 30 fps. It feels kinda the same laggy for all models
SE will be good for another 2 years at this rate. Don’t buy the series 7, use that extra money fir a better phone instead
I got the iPhone 12 Pro and now I’m gonna take the se
Just ordered the SE to upgrade from my S3

The 1st Gen SE is on sale at Walmart for $149.
I don’t know why they’re still selling the 3 instead of the 4. I loved my 4 and 6 but the full keyboard is something I need to have so I upgraded
I live in spokane as well! It was totally cool to click on your video randomly and see your close to home!! Thank you for a great comparison video!!
i dont need always one display, so SE for me
If you don't need just one display, then you mean you just need zero display or just need two or more displays?
@@Coolie-ds4tu always on* spelling mistake:D
I know many people who has the series 3 because why would you need all that fancy stuff so if you want your first one I suggest the series 3 first
CNBC says the SE is the better buy in terms of value so you're not suckering me into buying the series 8 just to help apples stock shares.
Love the rounded shape on the SE
Nice review. Easy to follow.
I am really suprised by the display brightness .... and really awaited for the get away
8:18 also the Series 3 flickers on camera.
Excellent quick overview
Series 3 42mm upgrade to Series 7 41mm, rather than the 45mm, discuss...
The 3 is still a great watch with a still lot of potential. Don't be saying that the 3 is terrible. It's not bad!!!!
He meant for the price, buying 3 new is not worth it anymore. If you get a good deal or already have it, keep using it till you feel you need an upgrade!
I’m getting the series 3 and I think it has 8 GB and I’m kinda upset but at least I have a Apple Watch
charging test for series 7, 6 and se ??
Excellent video as always. Can u compare mac os with windows #11
I think it will make a good introduction in smart watches for me
Thank You so much for this Video!
This is exactly what I need.
“always on display” i hate tht part lol cuz it wastes battery all the time
Great review, answers all the questions I had.
Any idea when series 8 out?
I just got 7 series and waiting for delivery, I had “Sony Smartwatch 3” before this, as looking for hyped upgrades changes I realized I had most of them on my 6-7 years old watch!
I'm going for the Series 7
You should go for new glasses
All I can say is there all awesome but if you have series 3 on 🆙 theres no reason to update to 7 series to be honest unless you break your watch just do your update save your money because every year it’s a new model it’s so hard to keep up I have the 3 series 42 mm with cellular and haven’t had any issues as of yet… and good review on the watches.
If all you have had is a S3 of course you think there’s no reason to upgrade lolol. You don’t know what it means to have a better experience.
Did I make a mistake by upgrading from the Series 3 to the SE? Should I have gone for the Series 7 instead? I don’t have any heart problems so the EKG would be useless for me. But I don’t know.
No, Series 3 to SE is a huge upgrade
@@hot-bloodedmartialartist3900 That’s good to hear then!!!
@@liquidmojo the series 3 is the just to make the SE and 7 look way better
Exactly what Samsung did with note 20 and note 20 ultra
