As a somewhat obsessive manga reader and anime watcher, I quite enjoyed this discussion, especially the Choso bits. Look, I may be a lesbian, but Choso is just such an amazing character, and fem Choso art has me feeling certain things. My five favorite episodes from 1 to 5: 13 - Red Scale: They took one of my favorite manga fights/scenes ever and truly elevated it, I didn't know that was possible but they did it. Also Choso. I mean Choso. I mean Choso. I mean Choso. I mean - 16 - Thunderclap: A true spectacle in Jogo vs Sukuna, so many homages to other anime, but also Jogo! I do agree that Jogo got a lot of care and attention when it came to developing his character, and this was a truly touching conclusion to his personal arc. The disaster curses in general are pretty underrated, but Jogo especially. I also really loved how they expanded the Toji vs. Fushiguro fight (although the ?non-cursed-energy? rubble piercing the shikigami rabbits is either lore inconsistent or introduces some interesting lore ideas). 17 - Thunderclap, Part 2: I actually did not like Mahoraga vs. Sukuna in the manga. I just didn't. Short and rather bland fight, and Mahoraga didn't feel intimidating at the time, even though I could understand how broken his adaptation was. But this - I truly felt that intimidation from this kaiju-esque beast, I enjoyed the fight and just how much they did with it. And that's on top of how terrifying Fushiguro's summoning ritual was. Visually, if episode 16 had the homages to other anime, this was MAPPA trying to be the one that would get those homages, that's how I wold describe it; truly breathtaking. 5 - Premature Death: The directing choices in depicting Geto's downfall were just, fantastic overall, and I love tragedies in general (I'm a JJK fan, what else would I enjoy lol). So Geto's "fall from grace" (judging from the music that played outside that KFC though, it was hardly a fall from grace for him) was something I personally enjoyed quite a lot, it built on aspects of his character we had already seen and took him in that dark direction. 21 - Metamorphosis: the conclusion to the fight between Yuji, Mahito, and Todo was hugely entertaining, with some nifty uses of their various abilities - Todo clapping with Mahito's hand, Mahito pulling out that 0.2 second Domain Expansion, and Yuji incorporating that sneaky little Divergent Fist. They also made some very nice directional choices, such as the visuals when they explained Soul Multiplicity, or the way in the extended wolf-chasing-rabbit sequence how Mahito lodged a rock in a piece of mud before throwing it, or Todo going delusional once more and dancing in a sailor outfit with Takada-chan. But I just love how Yuji reached a new, fascinating determination and resolve; it's the sort of characterization I really love.
Sorry if I end up commenting more than once, I'd need time to think of my favorite episodes in a list, but I also gotta give a shout out to Hidden Inventory 3 lol. I was a big fan of season 1 (anime only fan here lol) but like JJK hadn't particularly stuck out to me compared to some other series, but THEN we got to that Gojo/Tojo fight and the Riko shot and I was like "OH! It's like THAT now" and was the moment I really got like HOOKED on the series (even debating picking up the manga idk yet) like that episode changed my whole perspective on the series. Incredible stuff

And I totally get what you mean, even reading the manga that fight with Toji and Gojo was visceral and brutal, it was a super layered episode and arc in general and watching that happen to Gojo and then Riko dying was so intense and I agree really changed how you can view the whole series going forward it was soooooo gooooood
Well, since I came to JJK for rivalry of Yuji and Mahito - my favorite episodes is gonna be 18 - 21. These episodes have basically everything for what we know and love (or maybe hate) Jujutsu kaisen - great and creative fights, opponents using the most unusual (and sometimes dirty) ways to win, and of course - absolute ruthlessness of Gege. Oh, and also great VA. This is just my favorite moment in all anime: Yuji: OMAE WA KOUSATSU-YOU, MAHITOOOOOO😡🤬 Mahito: DEKE KOE DASENAKUTE MO KIKOETERUYO, I-TA-DO-RI YUUUAAAAAAJI! 😈😁 Mahi, you're irredeemable and that's why you're the best!
My top 5 5. Episode 19 ( Just loved how Yuuji just knew that Nobara was helping him from the other side and him beating the $h*t out of Mahito was just too satisfying) 4. Sukuna vs Mahoraga (cuz... You know, especially the malevolent shrine OST just gave me absolute chills) 3. JoGOAT vs Sukuna (cuz people actually saw what Jogo is capable of) & the episode 20 (especially Todo's pep talk to Yuji was too perfect, it was the right person that Yuuji needed at the right time aaaannnnd Mahito's voice acting during the part where he was absolutely beating the shit out of Yuuji is such an underrated moment) 2. Toji taking Gojo down (it was such a well choreographed fight) 1. Toji vs Dagon (only and only because of my boi Toji!!!! He's my most favorite character on the show. That menacing walk, that evil smile that fighting style also the part where JOGOAT took down Maki, Nanami and Naobito in like 5 secs potentially one of the most surprising moments of the season #TojiSupremacy ❤)

Kusakabe gets slept on, definitely my personal underrated sorcerer. Episode 5 is for sure #1 for me, it had all the feels that came with it. Anytime Choso pulls up he definitely holds his own. Especially 1v1 against fake geto. Much respect to your boi, love your shrine. Mappa did that scene just for you 46:34 ❤️🔥 The real geto is my #1 homie. 😎 Love your personal favorite top 5.
