My First (Real) Ride on a Gen 1 Hayabusa

    I bought this bike used and spent a few weeks inspecting all the various systems to make sure the bike was safe to ride. Fuel system cleaned, fuel pump replaced, brake system flushed/cleaned, new brake pads, oil etc. I only test rode it a couple times before this video but this was when I was confident to push the bike a little. Not too much though! I'm still getting used to her. lol
    Thanks for watching!

    I bought an 07 this spring.. i fell in love with it 2 minutes into the test ride.. i never thought i would get used to the power.. but it didn’t take me long.. its an absolute beast.. but its also incredibly smooth, and handles amazingly. You will see once you get used to it.

    Thx for posting this, I'm eyeing a white gen 1 with side cases and less than 10k on the clock, one owner. I was curious how you like The bike 2 years after posting this video, what have you learned good and bad about it?

  • @azagur-sag988
    @azagur-sag988 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Damn, this looks fun as hell! I keep hearing iffy things about the brakes and turning on the Hayabusa, but I still keep hearing it call my name as a first bike. It can't be that bad if you just tough it out 'til it's normal, I'm guessing?

    • @spacecityryder
      @spacecityryder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's a lot of opinions on first bikes. I think a Busa is a terrible introduction to motorcycles for beginners. HOWEVER, only you can make that decision and my philosophy is do whatever makes you happy. Life is short. I should make a video about this.

    • @spacecityryder
      @spacecityryder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it's more difficult to turn compared to smaller bikes and the brakes aren't as good as lighter bikes but that's because the Busa is low, long and heavy. It's still an awesome machine and people get by just fine on them

    • @azagur-sag988
      @azagur-sag988 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@spacecityryder Yeah, I figured once I get enough cash and the bravery to pull the trigger on one that I'd be fine if I respected the bike a great deal before I even dare push it and the time spent with it will even out learning how the handling is. I try to make 1 and done purchases where I can when it involves a wad of cash like that, rather than start small or on a lower tier. Thanks for the insight. I'll keep an eye out for that video!
