bolt was at 4.05 at 40yards...look up the splits. they make total sense given he ran 9.58 and Walker's 100m pb 10.09. bolt was at 60m at 6.32 and some studies had it at 6.29. Walker's PB is 6.51...take the reaction time from bolt's WR and hes at 4.40 at 40 metres...thats 44 yards. His 10m split between 30-40m in his 9.63 race was 0.87. So if you simplify things and halve that time, he was at 35m at 3.97...so allowing for 30-35m benig slower than 35-40m, hes a sub 4.10 without a doubt, and you can argue how much below 4.10 he was at. other world class sprinters were also under 4.15...in the same race. to suggest a 10.09 and 6.51 runner is ahead of a 9.58/6.29 runner at 40 yards is crazy talk.
This is why we still use races to figure out who faster than whom. There are so many different variables between timings that make timing comparisons rough estimates at best.
Ur slide about the peak power at 40-60%, I was just wondering does it apply to all ranges motion like full, half quarter squats? Relative to the ranges 1rm max?
@@justinlee3817 it’s just about velocity? So it can be mean velocity through big or small range of motion, it’s usually easier to hit higher velocity’s through a slightly bigger range of motion, but when doing stuff like lighter 40-60% work, I’d probably go with half squat range or shorter
@@slayerbot1394 a lot of it is form breakdown, he couldn’t some speed endurance training but he’s also just 9 years old so he’s just overall slow because he’s undeveloped, keep focusing on accel and max velocity development for now don’t sweat the burnout
My advice will be: Do not move 9yr old to 100m, because this is too big distance like 200-400m for adult but at 9yr lactate energy system isn't developed yet. So you will train just endurance with such early age 100m runs and thats why he loses gas and that's why there is nothing you actually can do with it. No more than 60m (or max distance he could sprint over 10sec) untill 12yr old if you want him to become fast.
I was a 13.26 hurdler in the early 2000s. Hang clean was the most important lift I did for acceleration and power. This was before trap bars were common and mainstream. I was a completely different athlete after a fall training block that included hang clean 2x per week. You can get good results now with a trap bar as a supplement here and there, but if you have been trained and can perform the lift properly, I would never remove hang clean from a sprinters program.
To be honest, it looks like he almost lost balance backward, which, with straps on, can actually break your wrist. But he got so much speed in the bar with that weight that is crazy power relative to body weight ratio . But I am sure he will be fine. This is probably a max test, so he would not do it this heavy all the time.
The thumbnail is inaccurate Bolt didn’t run a 4.22 that was a promo for Puma to hype up their views. Bolt probably is a 4.35 type of guy and after 40yds is when he becomes the fastest in the world
to be honest, if you just look at his 30-40m splits in his 100m dashes, he would easily break sub 4.1 in the 40yd without a question he simply is too fast and the numbers are already there to prove it, the thumbnail is just to get people in the door and they said he ran 4.22 so I put it there
He’s not Joseph Fahnbulleh his start was still extremely fast just not the best in the world compared to other top sprinters, so his time being around the fastest football players makes sense.

Interesting. But what about his dynamic thigh depth. Doesn’t it depend on and influence resistance negatively?
Very good
For the excess weight part, will I still get faster with training if I maintain my weight at 16% bf?
NFL Says for each 2% body fat lost its .06 to .07 in the 40 yards. It's a big deal. 16% is fat for a sprinter. The sprinter should be under 10%.
