This was definately challenging for me. I can't wait to try this a few more times and get the hang of it! I loved how I felt after this routine, very centered. Thank you!
I like it (I'm a beginner) yoga is not easy for beginners... Don't try to do every pose every time get familiar with it, pause and stuff... GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU 👍
you sir know what's what... sick of people complaining to tara that her videos are too fast and hard... it's about building up to the video not get it right at first
Tara you are Amazing! Please don't ever stop sharing your Yoga with the world,. I will coming to visit your studio when I come to New York July 2014, you are a Yogi I must meet!
I LOVE Tara Stiles! You have been a fantastic introduction to yoga for me. This is coming from a 56 yr old who has not worked out in a very long time. I generally prefer your videos as you go slowly which I have needed as a beginner. That said....I can not do this video. You move extremely fast from one pose to another! I can barely get into one before you have moved onto another. I would love it if you would do another video such as this, working on balance but with some easier moves and slower pace. I will continue to do the other videos though, you have made me feel like a rock star so far. Thanks Tara
So I watched and did this before I even took an actually yoga class and learned how to align my body and connect my breath with my movement I would def recommend for total beginners to not try to do this yet u might hurt yourself! I know it was really hard for me before but now I love it it is still challenging but I am able to keep up with it! ♡ thanks Tara
everyone saying its too fast, this is not meditation this is something like aerobic yoga, and tara stiles always says take your time, it suppose to watch it for one time and then try to do it. ALSO it says BUILDIMG BALANCE. YOU SUPPOSE TO FALL AT FIRST
I'm 37 years old with 3 kids. I haven't worked out in years and years. i'm a little overweight and i was able to do all the moves. i started out with the beginners breathing for a few days then went to this. now i'm on the core strenghthening. which is REALLY HARD. i do all three everyday then i do strength training on a in home gym. don't be wussies. ;) it's getting easier. :)
Tara is my favourite yoga person i've found on youtube so far :) yeah it's a little fast I guess but i don't mind and have learnt how to keep up. However, if you wanna do it slower, just memorize the poses and do it in your own time, shouldn't be a huge problem.
Our first obstacle in life is finding breath. Second we must find balance. We should never stop improving our control in either area. Thank you for the lesson and demonstration.
I love this balance video. I have been doing my practice for about two months now, and the first time I did this video was little shaky, now I can to do it fairly well with some wobbling.
The first time i did this routine I wasn't even close, half the time I was crumpled on the floor trying to figure out what she was doing. The second time (a week later), I was able to get a few of the poses and they felt really good. I like the dancer pose. I'm excited to get more balance so I can move on to more advanced routines. These videos have been great for slowly building the skills, (balance, strength, flexibility) to do yoga without injury. Thanks tara! I feel strong and confident.
The first time I attempted to do this workout I quit at the second pose. I left it, did other yoga routines, and this time, a couple months later, I made it through the routine. I was wobbly and couldn't complete every pose, but it was much easier this time around than the first time. It's all about the buildup and you can do it!
This routine is awesome. Up to this point i have been able to follow the pace but now i do agree the pace is a little fast when you are trying to get into the pose you cant focus on what Tara is doing and on getting the pose perfectly so then you just end up plopping onto the floor lol
This is great. Thank you for sharing. I've been doing internet yoga for a few years. I thought this was a good speed, with lots of breath awareness. . I like the focus and pause on the poses. As an internet yogi for 5 or so years, I am still not really able to do the intermediate classes, while I do get immense benefit from the beginning classes still.
Today was my first time doing yoga. I did 3 of Tara's videos (this one being the last) and I already feel great! I think it's important for people to know their limits when they first start, and that the flexibility will come as you practice. Thank you for the great videos Tara!
this is my favorite routine! really hard in the begining but after a few strugles got to say it helped me a loott to improve my balance! but this may be the hardest routine in the begginers sequence... it should be the last one to try, after learning the basics in your other videos Thank you so much for your videos, really got me going in yoga!
Hi Tara, As a beginner, Building Balance is proving helpful for me. However, looking forward to taking the step in my yoga training from your program. You are a great teacher.
Way too fast paced for a beginner. I understand the importance of switching sides, but when we are facing away from our computers it's hard to see what youre doing and keep up. There must be a better way to switch sides without having to switch away from the video.
I found this really hard, but mostly because I am SO unflexible! I couldn't do a lot of those things, but I love the rest of these videos. Tara is great.
Are you sure this is beginner and not some super advanced sensei stuff....eeek! I found this pretty hard which obviously means I should keep on with it. Feels good though when you reach the end and realize you made it. Love your videos Tara. A lot complain about pace, but I find your videos perfectly paced. I personally start off with your Mobility & Flexibility video, then move on to the Core Strength video, and then finish up with this Balance routine. Been doing that for a week and I feel great. So thank you, Tara. Thank you for these wonderful videos.
She moves a little fast and sounds a little dry but after doing this vid for almost a month I'm used to her pace and I can finally start working in straightening my poses. I do all her beginner videos and I'm scared to even look at intermediate.
I did the strength and the core yoga videos and they weren't as hard as this was for me! thanks for the great videos! I'm gonna keep at it and hopefully I won't be falling all over the place in a few weeks!
I thought it was a tad fast too but when I really focused she always says" when you're ready" so take that to you're advantage and if you're struggling with something then work on it "when you're ready"
I actually like the pace. Just watch it a couple times before doing it with her so you know what she's doing when she says certain things, this is the only beginner vids i've found that help me alot... and I'm super beginner, as in basic beginner things make me ache
Oh God that is so hard! I keep falling and I almost hurt my foot. I guess one month's worth of Tara's beginners yoga isn't quite enough. I gotta keep practicing, so maybe someday I can keep up with this video.
holy..! i'm not even exaggerating when i say i do this at least once a day - it's crazy to see how fast you progress, and it starts feeling reallly nice when you can get past the balancing part and get deeper within each position.. keep at it! took me a week to do the whole thing without falling over ;)
Is it supposed to be performed so fast? Or are we supposed to observe and do it on own own at a slower pace? I have just done this and I really enjoyed it, I feel like I worked hard :-)
This is really fun and challenging. I struggle alot but the thought of someday I will be able to go through each step as smoothly as her excites me and makes me come back to this video. I love other videos here too. Thank you for sharing :))
I'm a beginner and have a very bad flexibility still I was hoping one day i'll be able to do a dancer pose, it always fascinated me :) I kept practicing usualy, I would just do the beginning of the move, standing with one leg fold and trying to feel my balance and to feel comfortable in the air. After couple of weeks, I stretched my leg and my foot, and did the dancer pose ! :D I'm feeling so amazing right now! Guys, this won't be achieve in one day, you must keep practice and you'll do it;D
That's part of the beauty of yoga! You start out being able to do almost nothing but if you persevere through a few workouts/meditations you should start to see improvement in your flexibility, balance, stamina and breathing patterns. :)
Thanks Tara for a great sequence. Just did all in a series and was such a lovely ebb and flow. It's always good to do the basics do that I can find ease and not get caught up in forming the pose.
I’ve been using your yoga videos since 2010! Food4Thought: practice the routine that way it becomes 2nd nature and perfect your form for best results !
I am really REALLY new to yoga..I started a few days ago, and now I try to do at least an hour of your videos a day. I have been doing alright so far, except for this one. I keep losing my balance completely...is this normal the first few times? I also cannot get my heels all the way to the ground on downward facing dogs. So on the other videos I've been trying my best, but I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. It's getting frustrating for me, which I know is not good, yoga should be relaxing..
It's normal to not be able to get your heels to touch the mat in downward dog when you are a newbie. As you gain flexibility in your legs, however, it should come!
please stop saying this is beginner. it discourages actual beginners from doing yoga. beginner yoga should heal your body while you're building core strength. Slow...............Down. We should be relaxing at least half the time with breathing. Some people are broken and really need slow beginner yoga.
yuuuuup, anyone starting yoga is going to have difficulty even controlling breath in an exercise but damn to go this fast and to also throw in some of these balance moves without precursors is kind of cruel
@@tacosauce411 I would just like to say, that while beginner obviously does not equal handicap (don't quite know what being handicap has to to with this, since no one mentioned it but you), this is challenging for a beginners yoga sequence. I did pretty good with this one! I feel I should've watched it first before trying to orientate myself, cause all the switching sides and poses with my feet in the air made me turn completely away from my computer, so I couldn't see what you were doing! I'll get the hang of it though. Liked this video!
This was way too fast and the way she speaks was kinda irritating. I felt like I was in a lecture trying to catch up with the professor. Nice sequence though.
Love the pace of this - great for an older body trying to increase strength and flexibility. Would like to see some moves that strengthen entire knee joint.
Haha I fell at least 10 times, but I got through it! This and the beginner's breathing poses are becoming a part of my (soon to be established *lol*) morning routine! My back feels so much better and my butt and legs burn! In a good way :)
i thought that it was really good for a beginner! i have only done yoga once or twice before and i could do all of these moves fairly easy...given not quite with the same flexibility as she has. but then again i am naturally flexible and can do the splits
Best series of video for beginners i have seen very good moves the only problem she is going too fast but just slow the video to 0.75 or even slower and it’s gonna be great .
Tara I am having real trouble with the balance :( Should I just keep working on one move at a time until I get it and then move on or should I run through the whole thing each time?
As many of other comments says, this is hard. I have beginner balance, but also my flexibility caused that I wasn't able to do most poses. But the thing is, that I wasn't at all able to keep up the pace and that kind of sucked.
i swear i have no flexibility in my hamstrings or legs in general and i can barely do any of these poses right:( Watching you do yoga is simply beautiful. i hope i can be as good as you someday. Is it too late at 18 to start practising yoga?
You are never too old to start practicing yoga. :3 I've seen women in their 70's start yoga. Don't worry about these exercises being too hard. That's how most of us start out. Balance exercises are harder to do if the strength in your muscles aren't up to par.
I just have to say - as old as this video may be... the cameraman needs to NOT move the camera all over the place. trying to balance here. need as many other things in my view NOT to be moving constantly. Thank you Tara. You are the awesome. (PS - hope your pregnancy is going well)
Hello, I have another question what if you have that much flexibility? What to do because I feel that's when I give up and I really what to try this for so many reason. Thank you
I have a question. Once I've mastered the beginner sequences, should I move to intermediate? Has anyone besides me, mastered these videos and does her other videos now, and if so could you tell me which ones? Or can I get a yogis advice. It would be really helpful if someone could help me out :)
yes I think you should try other, more intermediate videos. I too started yoga with Tara's beginner series and I thought I would be stuck doing these forever because they were too hard in the beginning. I was practicing regularly and once I realized I could easily do these series, I moved onto her other videos which I have been practicing with since. I also recommend Sarah Beth's videos. Keep practicing and stay happy :)
I'm a beginner, and yeah it was hard. I fell over a lot and looked really dumb half the time haha. But the more you do it, the easier it gets. Definitely beginner video compared to her advanced.
okeii I have zero balance now and I am really trying to focus to keep balance but she is going too fast for mii. I bearly got one pose down I look up n she is in a total different one. She makes it look easy but wow its a challenge
people who are having a hard time do what you can until you get better try to do things that make you more comfortable in the position then make it harder as you go
Thanks for showing the ropes in this beginner yoga course, but if you're going to teach a beginner yoga course, maybe you should, as an instructor, stretch your body only as far as a beginner can so us beginners don't feel like we are unable to perform each pose properly.
I get that these are for beginners, but I really wish there was a pause between poses. There's no time at all for me to even feel like I'm doing it correctly. Unfortunately, these videos are still the best I've been able to find. Yoga instruction on the internet is really sketchy, and I can't afford classes.
I’m not a beginner but have arthritis in knees so balance is more of a challenge. This is NOT for beginners! It is not only discouraging for beginners to try this, it is dangerous. The poses, which would be unfamiliar to a beginner, need to be broken down into their component parts and taught. I don’t know why Livestrong which I usually trust, would allow this to be labeled a beginner sequence!
im not actually a gymnast. i just made that up when i was like 11. i always wanted to be one but never was. so i am still a beginner and you just need to push through. it doesn't have to be perfect.
This was definately challenging for me. I can't wait to try this a few more times and get the hang of it! I loved how I felt after this routine, very centered. Thank you!

Hi Tara,

You are a great teacher.
The besttttt yogi ever!!!! Very slow and elegant
This routine was the hardest of Tara's for me to do so far. I'm glad to read that others had simular trouble!
Way too fast paced for a beginner. I understand the importance of switching sides, but when we are facing away from our computers it's hard to see what youre doing and keep up. There must be a better way to switch sides without having to switch away from the video.
Y'know......TH-cam has video play speeds as slow as 0.25. Instead of asking the mountain to come to YOU, try coming to the mountain.
I found this really hard, but mostly because I am SO unflexible! I couldn't do a lot of those things, but I love the rest of these videos. Tara is great.

Just one advice it's yoga class so, try to talk slow and change the music, it's means to relax and bring peace, thank you.
loved the video....first time doing yoga though...its a bit tough but with practice it can definately be mastered
Oh God that is so hard! I keep falling and I almost hurt my foot. I guess one month's worth of Tara's beginners yoga isn't quite enough. I gotta keep practicing, so maybe someday I can keep up with this video.

This isn't for beginners at all I fall like twenty times just from the first pose. Isn't this suppose to be helping my balance?
I found the speed of it very encouraging
Thank you tara i am totally new to this and you have helped alot! :)
first time trying yoga! feel so much more relaxed yet I broke a sweat! love!
you are a great instructor!
Beginners???? feel so discouraged…freaking hard as heck!
This was to fast and way too diffucult for a beginning yoga sequence!
The title is misleading
its so hard for a beginner like me at every move i need to use wall for support or balance
Again, thank you for speaking slow on this sequence! I LOVE LOVE YOUR ROUTINE! and am thankful to have been able to experience this one!
Exactly. How else are you supposed to learn and improve?!
Thanks Tara. your videos are so easy to follow and to do on a daily basis:)
I will try it tomorrow, i am sure i can do it
This is not a beginning level practice! I have been practicing for decades and found it challenging and enjoyable.
I have trouble with balance. Pace too fast for me. Will try again next week. I can see the benefit but body just having trouble balancing.
I'm not a beginner but struggle with balance. This was way too fast. I'm concerned a beginner will get hurt.
I'm starting dance a week and this is really helpful
i loved this. can't wait until I can do the whole thing perfectly!

"Beginner Yoga", I think that was a typo.
Thank you so much for this!
this is far too fast for beginners, maybe a slower version of the same moves would be useful.
This was way too fast and the way she speaks was kinda irritating. I felt like I was in a lecture trying to catch up with the professor. Nice sequence though.
+Moonti T I thought the same thing! This was supposed to be "beginner". Hells no!
slow the video down bozo
Hey that's not a nice thing to say . If you've got time to complain , I think it's better use it wisely to find another one that suits you

...when did a vertical split become "beginner"? This video discourages me completely.
how do you even begin to be able to do this?
This is awesome!! thanks you
Tara I am having real trouble with the balance :( Should I just keep working on one move at a time until I get it and then move on or should I run through the whole thing each time?
Great video! my problem is flexitibily, I think that's why I'm still doing basics :/ lol
For some reason this video does not load. All the other videos work except this one
:( anybody else have the same problem
As many of other comments says, this is hard. I have beginner balance, but also my flexibility caused that I wasn't able to do most poses.
But the thing is, that I wasn't at all able to keep up the pace and that kind of sucked.

love this!
Ahhhh I feel great! Thanks
i liked this go at your own pace and as you get better come back and go along with her
A little too fast but I loved it. Can't wait to see better results

Hello, I have another question what if you have that much flexibility? What to do because I feel that's when I give up and I really what to try this for so many reason. Thank you
the poses themselves are great, but you displayed them much too confusingly. Did we even swap legs in the beginning ?
Thank you for responding
I'm a beginner, and yeah it was hard. I fell over a lot and looked really dumb half the time haha. But the more you do it, the easier it gets. Definitely beginner video compared to her advanced.
okeii I have zero balance now and I am really trying to focus to keep balance but she is going too fast for mii. I bearly got one pose down I look up n she is in a total different one. She makes it look easy but wow its a challenge
This is lightning speed, I can't keep up!
people who are having a hard time do what you can until you get better try to do things that make you more comfortable in the position then make it harder as you go
Thanks for showing the ropes in this beginner yoga course, but if you're going to teach a beginner yoga course, maybe you should, as an instructor, stretch your body only as far as a beginner can so us beginners don't feel like we are unable to perform each pose properly.
out of the 5 beginners videos this one is the hardest for me.
I try learning the poses first I come back to this vid when I feel more ready for it lol
thnks
It is hard :(
can i do th more then once a day..=) im trying to have balance ,,i dont have none...
im not actually a gymnast. i just made that up when i was like 11. i always wanted to be one but never was. so i am still a beginner and you just need to push through. it doesn't have to be perfect.
