The reason 4 teams in the big 10 have good records and nobody else is simple. We play more confrence games than some conferences and we have a bunch of average/slightly above average teams beating each other up. Purdue is terrible tho.

I'm sorry but Indiana beat both finalists from a year ago in Washington and Michigan. Teams of that caliber do not go void of talent from year to year. Just doesn't happen. Both those teams beat SEC teams to get into the finals. One could argue that the SEC is over rated. When you keep ranking teams from the same conference that means their strength of schedule is going to be weighted in their favor when that may not be the case. I think to solve the issue of conference toughness and depth, they should make the SEC and BIG TEN pair off for one game early in the season I.E. Oregon vs Texas, Ohio State vs Georgia, Penn State vs Alabama so on and so forth down the line. That would make for great games early on and indicate which conference has depth from year to year. You would also alternate the home team so the conference champions from the prior year that face off would trade off who hosts the game. The conference loser from previous year would be the alternate host. So lets say Sec conference champ faces Big Ten champion and SEC hosts championship match-up then The Big Ten conference loser would host the Sec conference loser. You could include other conferences but I think Big Ten and SEC pretty unanimously are seen as the toughest conferences. They kind of do this in basketball in the Big Ten vs ACC match ups

I love how all of the SEC shills assume that because there isn’t a dominant team in the conference this year, that means that the conference has gotten better as a whole instead of the usual dominant teams regressing . The reason Saban retired was because of the transfer portal and NIL money are going to let teams who aren’t traditional powerhouses compete and potentially keep the traditional powerhouse teams out of the playoffs. I feel the same way about the SEC. Overrated and most have multiple losses. No way they should get 4 over the B10 getting 4
@ I am a big 12 guy. But you have to look at past performance. SEC has dominated national title. If you watch the games the only 2 big 10 worthy are Ohio State and Oregon. SEC has 5 or 6 that should go. You cannot penalize them for playing in all world conference. They took our best teams Tx and Okla. and have to play them. Indiana is maybe 5-5 in SEC
@mikeburnette5195 see I disagree. Bama and Georgia have dominated lately, not the whole sec. Plus I happen to believe much like the NFL and division 2 that this year's champion should be solely based on what they do this year
@ it is not a matter of agree or disagree. Since national football champion system (1998 BCS) the SEC has won 15 championships with 5 different schools, my Big 12 has won 2 ( Texas and Oklahoma both now in SEC) Big ten has 3 champs from 2 schools (OSU and Mich). In last 10 years SEC has 6. None from Big 12 - 2 from Big Ten - again only OSU and Mich. I wish this was not true but SEC is the premier league and highest caliber. If we want to crown a true national champion versus have a beauty pageant” SEC should have 5 or 6 in this year based on data. Big ten gets OSU and Oregon.

Indiana, Notre Dame Boise Penn St army should all absolutely get in if they take care of business. and I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think I remember the sec having a losing bowl record at least one of the last 2 years when they had to play good teams out of conference

I love how all of the SEC shills assume that because there isn’t a dominant team in the conference this year, that means that the conference has gotten better as a whole instead of the usual dominant teams regressing . The reason Saban retired was because of the transfer portal and NIL money are going to let teams who aren’t traditional powerhouses compete and potentially keep the traditional powerhouse teams out of the playoffs. There are now too many variables to account for.
