After playing in Floowandereeze format in Master Duel for a little over 12 hours now I 100% agree with this and I wish I could go back in time and prevent this mistake of a deck from happening.
There's a guy at my locals who plays Floowandereeze and every time I go against him I have to sit for a minute and PRAY he didn't draw Dshifter. Literally stopping me from success, however I play Gamma and when the Dshifter gets gamma'd especially on my turn I get a breath of satifaction as I dealt with one of the biggest problems for my deck.
Some more fun facts about Floowandereeze: - If you play the OCG format, you can’t even Maxx C them. They don’t Special Summon. - Oh, you play Mystic Mine! Don’t you mind if I Tribute it. - Abuse every card that have “Dimension” in their name or “Macro Cosmos”. - Have “Wing Requital” to draw 2. - Have “Scary Seas” and “Feather Storm” to fuck your turn. - Raiza can reset your DShifter to be re-used indefinitely. But as a Floowandereeze player, I’m happy to hear that.
I seen these are coming to Master Duel and a friend told me about em, played with em alittle bit on other simulators. I love these things, all the aids and stupid shit out they put up a fight with AND they get to irritate those players, PLUS THEY HAVE A PENGUIN CARD
I’m facing 4 back-to-back Floowandereeze in Master Duel within the first day of the update that brought these things into the game… Konami clearly has an affinity with birds, because they just *love* giving bird decks all of the good shit; Harpie Ladies, Lyrilusc, Tri-Brigade, Simorgh with the Barrier Statue, and now THESE bird-braindead Monarch wannabes.
Yeah I had to negate the eglee like 4 times in the span of 5 turns My brick ass actually helped me since I was playing exosisters that does nothing to banishing birds
I finally understood the monsters after mega Raiza returned itself to hand? Why on earth did they return their own 2800 to hand to avoid lightning storm or Raigeki? Then when I summoned the monster it put on top of deck... Before I could activate it's effect... They summoned two floors, recycled some of their graveyard to banished returned to hand. Then the Raiza came out again and put the same monster back on top of my deck. They Yata locked me.
They ain't even Wannabes, it's just powercrept Monarchs. And I main a monarch deck in MD and irl, the birds are just better monarchs which hurts so much

Konami employees woke up one day and asked: "what if we made an archetype that counters everything while also playing around everything in the game with obnoxious levels of recursion?" And so Floowandereeze was created. I hate the deck so much because you're basically forced to lose game one unless you're playing some extreme floodgate strategy

@Datguy Nah, when hand traps are being next to useless in a format majority of the time that's when you know engines don't care. Flunder doesn't care about hand traps, neither does dragon link or Based. All combo that has to do is summon a griffin and go from there.
@Datguy if you have the ash? Don't know if they'll slap down d shifter turn one, or play around ash with the quick play. I can play with hypotheticals and say that "if you have a hand trap" I can "negate it with crossout" anything plunder is more worried about ghost ogre, and I play the deck. The only time Ash really hurts is if we brick to the point to where we can only make one play. And then you hit us. The only hand trap that definitely hurts us is lancia because it gets under the shifter.
I play birds. Your maulding fuels me. I can feel the shifters in my opening hand. My blood flows with floodgates. My ability to dodge handtraps grows ever stronger. Continue your rage, so that I may continue to normal summon.
The fact they don’t even have to waste dreaming town is dumb. You’re forced to play into map when barrier statue is on field. Meaning you can’t just go normal summon and beat over statue. The deck is literally shifter protect statue turbo. Having to draw specifically non engine cards to our statue is dumb.
You need exactly cosmic for the dreaming town and droplet or something to take care of empen and barrier statue or else you auto lose basically,I feel your pain and I absolutely despise this deck
Every single damn time I went against a flunder player, I lost. Doesn't matter if I dna surgery them for Chimeratech Fortress Dragon or Cyber Twin Dragon, or Infinity, or a counter trap, or even an 8k Overdragon with 5 attacks. Nothing seems to get over those things. Once the statue is on the field, yk it's game over

Wind barrier statue should be banned someday, cause a lot of wind or winged beast decks are being able to search and summon it during the opponent's turn. I know this is not the only reason that make the floowandereeze decks good, but still, it's an easy free floodgate that can be search and special summoned
Floowandereeze already has three shifter going first or second so Statue should be at 0! Shifter and then Special lock is too oppressive! Almost impossible to make a comback
As a soon-to-be Floowandereeze, I'd like to say, I'm not sorry and also I will run Dark Simorgh and anti spell in the main so even backrow heavy decks can't have fun.
For anyone who doesn't know the deck does not respond well to board wipes and killing the raiza and apex. If u deal with those 2 they cant bring them back and only have empen to fall back on

Bring psy-frame, droll and lancea in main, ghost orge is good card to deal with their field spell, veiler and infinite on the bird which can add the floo trap. You can try to use veiler and imp on the floo small bird, however, it can be risky if they have their quick-play spell on their hand. Zombie world and TCBOO are those cards to counter them.
Splashable engine for most decks that allows you to get a pretty consistent free omni negate that recurs and also a free bounce while making it, without disrupting any plays your actual deck would make without the adventure line, Definitely "Instant Meta"
Barrier statue by itself is fair, if you cant beat over thats skill issue, but the true fuckery happens when the opponent has the statue and 7 interruptions to not even let you get the slightest chance of getting rid of it
Goddess of Sweet Revenge. It's likely they clear your board by tributing your cards and such. GSR makes them send everything to the GY. Every card they have. Situational, but a good option.
I am not defending floowandereeze because I'm not playing the TCG competetively. But doesn't Floowandereeze just loose to Handtraps? In that case the argument 'You can't prepare for floowandereeze is invalid', isn't it?
Book of moon stops Imperm and Veiler. Floowander can usually chain block Ash very easily. I'd say it loses hardest to Droll & Lock Bird and Artifact Lancea is also amazing against it. I think Floowonder is very strong in the first round since it can play around the most common hand traps, Droll & Lock and Artifact Lancea are often in the Side Deck.
Don't mind me, I'm just over here playing Thunder Dragon, summoning Collosus on my first turn, and probably Titan at the same time to pop cards as he plays them by discarding Matrix or Dragondark... I had one of these guys scoop when I did that, btw. I'm pretty sure we'll see any deck that can play Collosus start doing it if they weren't already.
For me Thunder dragon easier to counter since you can Dark ruler, Droplet Kaiju etc But these birds even if you Dark ruler their board, if you normal summon they just start their combo in my turn again
I play Dragon link so you can imagine the pain I feel every time someone drops d shifter. I even sided Crossout and one d shifter because of these stupid birds 😂😂😂
I think some tech cards people aren't using enough vs floowandereeze, the wind insect Kaiju. Droplets and dark rulers. Backrow removal. Skill drain isn't really uncommon but it's an immediate hard counter
Played Flunder for the first time yesterday at locals. Actually didn't struggle coz going first I had a solid board even tho they mystic mined me. And when they barrier statued, just E Tele Nyannyan (shoutout Virtual World for being half wind types lmao), but yeah it's definitely a degenerate as hell deck and super frustrating if you don't have very specific outs
Deck is fine, it's solid and the only really bad thing about it is d shifter, but it sucks going second and can't play through more than 2 interruptions
flunder can play dark rulers, lightning storms and other board breakers to play going 2nd. It’s what’s seeing the most success right now as far as flunder goes.
This guy is acting as if Floowandereeze is not playing Book of Moon and Advent of Adventure to dodge your Veiler and Imperm and as if chain blocking or Simorgh weren't a thing that just ignores all of your negations. The deck is cracked. You're bound to lose game one, especially if you go second against it. After that, you'd better have some floodgates in your side deck, like TCBOO or Zombie World

Someone accidentally played Rush Duel in the regular game and made an archetype out of it.
Floowandereeze is literally the only reason El Shaddoll Wendigo is in my Extra Deck this format.

I had one of these guys scoop when I did that, btw. I'm pretty sure we'll see any deck that can play Collosus start doing it if they weren't already.
For me Thunder dragon easier to counter since you can Dark ruler, Droplet Kaiju etc
But these birds even if you Dark ruler their board, if you normal summon they just start their combo in my turn again

I think some tech cards people aren't using enough vs floowandereeze, the wind insect Kaiju. Droplets and dark rulers. Backrow removal. Skill drain isn't really uncommon but it's an immediate hard counter

Played Flunder for the first time yesterday at locals. Actually didn't struggle coz going first I had a solid board even tho they mystic mined me. And when they barrier statued, just E Tele Nyannyan (shoutout Virtual World for being half wind types lmao), but yeah it's definitely a degenerate as hell deck and super frustrating if you don't have very specific outs

Deck is fine, it's solid and the only really bad thing about it is d shifter, but it sucks going second and can't play through more than 2 interruptions
flunder can play dark rulers, lightning storms and other board breakers to play going 2nd. It’s what’s seeing the most success right now as far as flunder goes.

The deck is cracked. You're bound to lose game one, especially if you go second against it. After that, you'd better have some floodgates in your side deck, like TCBOO or Zombie World
